I have never done a cuddling in a public place. I would like to hear experiences / recommendations for safe places with some privacy.
I've had a public cuddle at Mueller Lake Park. I recommend it. Maybe you'd be interested in setting up a cuddle space like a tent in a shaded area with blankets and pillows. Maybe bring a Bluetooth speaker for some not so loud jams playing.. It's nice around this time before Texas heat truelly sets in. Happy Cuddling
I haven’t cuddled too much in public. I’ve talked to people who have. They’ve done it at a theater that has love seats as well as two seats next to each other. On the grass at a park or on the sand at a beach. I also talked to somebody that snuggle a little bit at a hotel lounge in the main area of the hotel.
I was going to say the same thing as Bear did. I've traveled a lot, and there have been times where my flight arrived early in the day, especially when flying West and gaining back hours from the time zones. Some hotels are able to make some accommodations with earlier check-ins, and I've had hotels where the staff started to recognize me and made some extra effort on that, but I've definitely spent some time in some lobby bars, lounges, or whatever couches are around the lobby area. Perfect time to have a local cuddler to kill some time with. Conversation and connection with someone just makes the time fly by.
I think there are some really creative ways to cuddle if you think outside the box and have a spirit for some adventure. I wonder how long you could cuddle in different spots in an IKEA or a furniture store before you got kicked out. My guess is probably longer than you might think, especially if you're friendly to the staff and aren't in the way of anyone else.
Some bookstores and coffee shops have more comfortable than average spots, sometimes some cozy corner seats and sometimes include foot rests.
There are some gardens/arboretums that are publicly accessible, or that you can tour through at your own pace that may have some places to sit together.
If one of you happens to live in a building that has a rooftop terrace or various spaces that are open to tenants, that could work.
You could even take a train ride, especially if you're near a scenic corridor, such as from Denver to Glenwood Springs. (Beautiful scenic corridor.)
Picnic in the park. I've never had a bad time laying in the park cuddled up with someone. You can also do a movie theater. No real privacy but you still get to snuggle a bit.
Parks on a picnic blanket are my go-to, but I also enjoy couches in a library, bookstore, or coffeeshop (if not too loud & crowded). Also cuddle-adjacent events like contact improv jams, social dance classes & parties, somatic movement classes.
I'd caution folks to be prepared for NO privacy - that's the nature of being in public. It takes a different mindset and skillset to be able to relax and enjoy cuddles in public, especially if you have any level of social anxiety. It's not necessarily a bad thing - for me it's been really therapeutic to work through anxious feelings in public without feeling like I have to perform or mask. But if you go into it expecting it to feel the same as cuddling on a private bed, you're likely going to struggle to let go and enjoy.
(Edit: for reference, my social anxiety is bad enough that any level of PDA even with long-term partners or family can be triggering. I'm talking even things like holding hands, hugging, let alone full body cuddling. So for me, building up tolerance has been a necessity and public cuddles has been a method to work on it.)
I had 2 public cuddles this week at the movie theater with a pro cuddler that I'm a repeat cuddler with. We saw Project Hail Mary (3rd time viewing for me) on Saturday and Mortal Kombat 2 on Sunday.
Went to the local park with blankets and pillows when weather was cool enough. Sat under shady spot by the trees
I do not have recommendations, but I can tell you where I have held public cuddles: movie theater, parks, restaurants, malls, cars.
Restaurants or cafes that have outdoor seating, patios , private cabanas and gazebos are nice for public cuddling.. sitting next to each other while talking and drinking tea 🍵. The MoMA sculpture garden while enjoying live music 🎵.., Central Park while sitting on a blanket , The Conservatory... Hayden Planetarium 🪐 ✨…Wyman Garden at Princeton University 🌺…I also like a park called Colonial Park where they have a pond where you can rent a giant yellow duckie paddle boat .. it is just one small section of the park…it’s just silly and fun 😃 Ferris wheels 🎡 are fun for public cuddles too!
Thanks for all the useful inputs, folks. This group never disappoints whenever i asked for help 🙌 Some of the ideas are so creative and innovative 💡 I folded the backsest in my mid size sedan and threw in a mattress topper, I was surprised how much space it has to offer. I can comfortably lie down. Now I just need to find a park to park the car 😀 I'm excited for the first experience
Excited for you! *insert fist bump
Thank you @Cuddlesofcuddle 😊
