Octopus, I can be on land and explore the ocean.
@mauvefox you and I think alike.
I'm coming back as a dragon. I would be black and gold, with purple accents. And yes, flying and fire breathing is a must. The world needs whimsy, and I plan to bring it (with a healthy dose of fear, chaos, and terror on the side). Yes, I'm coming back as a dragon.
@Violetblanket a couple people said they would like to be human actually! I wouldn't mind living as someone else for a day or two as well, just out of curiosity. I've never been a man ha ha!!!
I don’t think I’d be a bird after getting my mom a camera feeder. Those things act like they’re always waiting for their next fix. Twitching and looking in a different direction every half second, being harassed by other birds. Seems stressful.
I’d be a Border Collie
@Pasquia we will bring the chaos!! and whimsy, gotta have the whimsy. 🤣
I’d be a mutated bacterial disease and take out some sociopaths that walk among us.
Ooh carnivorous bacteria sounds fun and forever
@TheFunCartel will you stay microscopic or are you going for blob mutation.
Myself.
@mauvefox Microscopic. Fortune favors stealth and a steady food supply of those who ignore science.
A Were Shifter, whether it be a wolf 🐺, a tiger 🐯, a bear 🐻 or even a kangaroo 🦘.
Weres don't age as fast, they are hard to kill, so there is a certain level of immortality within them. And the mythical mating pull and all that I have read about it... Simply fascinates me as a typical human woman! 😁😍
@trysdet
Birds are quite intelligent depending on the species. Crows have an excellent memory and are great at prob solving for instance.
Intelligent in a relative sense to other non-human animals. Problem solving for survival, not for curiosity or creativity. I still doubt that they admire the scenery as they fly like we like to imagine that we would.
@btc13 you clearly have very limited experience with birds then. Curiosity, creativity, and aesthetic preferences are absolutely part of their makeup. And considering that many of the parrot and corvid species are objectively as intelligent as a human aged 3-5, I'd argue they're more intelligent than a good portion of human adults as well.
Besides, human curiosity, creativity, communication, culture, and art all also developed as survival mechanisms originally, so I'm not sure what point you're trying to make there.
Parrots and corvids are the most intelligent birds, yes. Comparing their intellect to that of a 5 year old human is not objective fact, but is an extremely optimistic estimation. There are 5 year old humans reading, doing arithmetic, even playing chess. The highest performing birds count up to about 5. Saying you think they are smarter than any adult humans is actually quite condescending to the brink of being insulting.
Humans largely mastered survival many centuries ago to the point that eating, shelter, etc all now can be done as luxury experiences rather than spending a good portion of your days just to satisfy those needs. Creative activities such as arts and science, are done not for survival anymore, but are done for higher intellectual objectives.
Plus, the original premise was that if you are reincarnated as a bird, you can fly around admiring the scenery as though you are the human adult that you are now. I just raised the doubt that as a bird you would feel the same exhilaration from flying that you imagine that you would experience it as a human.
This whole thread is a thought experiment. I just think it would be interesting if you consider it not from the perspective of a human living as another type of animal, but from the perspective of the actual experience of the animal, with whatever natural intellect, perception, and experience it may have. If you choose not to take that approach, carry on with the thread however you like.
That’s why I picked dragon. Those bad ass beasties are smart as hell. 🤗
Dragons for the win! But really, I just want to burn shit down and look majestic while doing it. Chaos and whimsy.
@Pasquia We will rain fire over the lands and look effing fantastic while we do it!!
I don't want to come back. Set me free 😭
A runaway train headed to the end of the earth
@pmvines Runaway train, never going back! Wrong way on a one way track 🤌
I’d come back as an Orca 💜
Wrong way on a one way track
But @BellaAine Hear me out…
DRAGON!!!!!
@mauvefox only if they fly 🐲
Anyone else doesn't want to be human again? Maybe an Owl or something .
@BellaAine Whatever would the point be if they didn’t?! And they breath fire. Join me and @Pasquia in the beautiful chaos.
@mauvefox let's go! Lead the way 🐉 🔥
I mean, if we're going with mythological creatures.... 🧚♀️ Obviously
@cuddlefaery now the dragons can be super powered with pixie dust!! Let’s goooo!
Dragonfaery? Do I see a new Netflix series on the horizon ?
