Naps..YES or NO??

As we all know, cuddling comes with a level of relaxation for all parties included. I'm curious to know during cuddle sessions do you stop yourself from napping or do you go ahead and give in to the relaxation? I can't wait to hear everybody's answers!

  • I don't think my body could feel safe enough to nap until after a few sessions with the same cuddler! 🥲 But certainly not in the first session lol. I personally stop my body from shutting down but I could see myself being able to if I felt comfortable enough!

  • I think it depends on the cuddlers involved, my cuddler fell asleep on the first two sessions she was so relaxed! I take that as a nice compliment

If it’s a (now basically non-existent) fellow enthusiast cuddle then sure. why not?

But if it’s a pro, and I fall asleep for 20 minutes then I get annoyed at myself for having burned $50 in my sleep, literally. I’ve also had pros fall asleep on me too, and that can become awkward for the same reason, so I just reposition gently and that usually does the trick.

The key is to hopefully find that middle ground of PURE relaxation. For those of you that have ever taken yoga it’s like the perfect savasana!

  • I definitely try to avoid it because I want to be present for the cuddle. that's my time to relax, unwind, and get centered.

    I can nap anywhere. 😁

  • Not much of a napper they tend to leave me groggy

  • I’ve had a few pros fall asleep in my arms.

  • Naps during a cuddle session? 🙅🏻‍♀️
    Naps with cuddle partners? 💯

I nap a lot due to chronic fatigue & illness, so especially in the afternoon it can be hard for me to stay awake if I'm laying down. Cuddling can make me even more sleepy as it calms my nervous system down. But if we'd planned on cuddling, I try my best to stay present and not doze off.

However, it can be amazing to nap & cuddle with someone I trust. It comes down to discussing it beforehand - make sure we're both on the same page so one of us isn't compromising more than the other.

  • As a pro cuddler ... Absolutely not. I fell asleep once at the end of a session with a regular ... He didn't wake me and I ended up sleeping for an hour it was a good 45 minutes past the end of our session. I felt so bad for falling asleep he looked at it as he got an Xtra 45 minutes to cuddle for free. Now I don't go to cuddles un- caffeinated. Also said a lot about him that I was comfortable enough to fall asleep.

Now if it's an overnight session lasting longer than 8 hours I do expect to sleep for at least a few hours.

  • I have unintentionally caused my partners to fall asleep because they are very relaxed with me

  • I just start talking about all my favorite things and wait for them to start snoring

  • One of the first cuddles I had with Cuddle Comfort, the man fell asleep. He just got super relaxed. We were both enthusiasts, so I just let him rest.
I frequently could use some extra sleep, So nap would be nice , but I don't usually fall asleep.

  • Yes.

  • The whole point of cuddling is to relax. Dozing off is a possibility. If one is a pro, set an alarm. Not a big deal.

I do not find it offensive if a pro falls asleep. They are human after all. And if I fall asleep, I sleep alone every night. At least there is someone in my arms for short while.

During my first session with a professional cuddler she actually dozed off a few times, and we've both napped in each other's embrace several times since. She always says she feels bad about it and that I'm apparently the only one of her clients it happens with. Maybe it's because we get along so well, or maybe I'm just that comfy to cuddle, idk.

I personally find it quite comforting that someone would feel relaxed enough to nap during a session.

  • NOOOOOO!!!!! I hate when a partner falls asleep. And I refuse to fall completely asleep. The closest I've gotten is a lucid dream. Half awake & half asleep.

I feel like we don't benefit from the connection if we fall asleep. My experience has been that when a partner falls asleep they end up snoring in my ear & the cuddling is one-sided. I've left those cuddles without feeling the calm & euphoria that comes from a fully awake connected cuddle.

Obviously, an overnight is different because you will sleep but that happens after you've enjoyed cuddles beforehand. In that case my go to sleep position is a face to face or little spoon (for me).

  • I LOVE to nap!! However I try my best not to during sessions. Have I dozed off before, absolutely!! With a first timer, not yet… I doubt I allow my body to feel that comfortable with a stranger yet.

Have my clients fell asleep on me? Absolutely! Do I feel offended. Not at all… it is actually a compliment to me. I am able to create this safe haven and you trust me enough to keep you comfortable. 🙂‍↕️

  • I think everyone is different but during my first session, me and the cuddler both drifted off for a 10-15 minutes there was really relaxing music and the lights were dim and we both needed that so for me it felt amazing. I didn't mind it and he didn't either. It shows how comfortable we both were and thankfully none of us snored 😂

  • I always prefer to be conscious, consenting, and connecting.

  • As an enthusiast I never mind cuddle partners falling asleep. Most people live stressful lives, and sleep is the most relaxed you can possibly be, so it's always a good thing to me.

But for me personally, falling asleep myself during a cuddle sesh is really rare, so if that does manage to happen it shows that I feel supremely safe and comfortable, and that experience is impossible for me if the energy of the cuddle/from my cuddle partner isn't actively pro-snooze.

Plus, I deal with a lot of chronic pain and severe insomnia, so I actually sleep much better with a partner I feel safe with, so while I never expect it, I especially treasure the rare times it happens naturally in welcome environments for it.

  • It depends on the person I'm cuddling with.

    I've fallen asleep with enthusiasts.

I've had pros fall asleep with me, including one pro who had a rule about falling asleep but I think the rule was made after the fact.

Keep in mind that if you're dealing with pros, it's generally better to check in / ask first.

Something as "trivial" as naps can be considered a boundary issue for some people.

  • Yes or at least drowsy

  • As a pro I usually do not feel comfortable falling asleep. As someone mentioned above it would take several sessions for me to feel comfortable enough to do that. Even then only if the client was OK with it.

  • Naps with professional cuddling I wouldn't. Only because it's called cuddle comforts. Not naptime pros. Also, when we as professionals book with these serious inquiries, you don't know these people. And even though the rules are set on the app, anything can happen. Just be safe! ❤️

  • To be honest, it truly depends on the person and who they are. When we get to know one another and learn how "activated" (meaning experiencing sympathetic activation like fight-or-flight) the other is experiencing in their daily life? I feel that sensing them fall asleep as they lean against you is the epitome of them expressing their level of trust and relaxation. That's healing on a spiritual level for all parties.

Even if there is an exchange of currency, all parties should consent to the possibility of sleep... And from people I've talked to who have paid for cuddling, they have always preferred their cuddle partner remain awake and present.

And if sensory issues are a thing, such as the sound of snoring for the awake partner, then that can be a boundary you set with that particular person... Truthfully, everyone should try and accomplish what is needed to not snore anyway - as getting better sleep should be a priority for all. So maybe your cuddle session will be a wake-up call to head to the doc! I've had someone lay on my lap with CPAP, which didn't bother me (and they needed it). People have to be honest about what they are cool with!

And to those making claims about cuddling not being helpful if you're asleep - science has other things to say about that lol

  • Not a fan of someone falling asleep as I like presence. Everyone is different. But I have recently begun to tell people in advance that falling asleep is not appreciated in advance because lately I have encountered pros falling asleep in a session. I am not paying for their circadian rhythms. I am social and I like to chat intermixed with cuddling in some silence. But sleeping hits me as rude.

  • As a pro, having someone falling asleep during a cuddle session is the highest compliment. This person trusts that they are safe with me in their most vulnerable state. As for me falling asleep, that’s a big NO unless it’s an overnight.

  • When your fellow cuddler trusts you and feels safe, then napping during a cuddle session is possible. I've shared naps, napped during a cuddle, and had pros fall asleep in my arms. I see nothing wrong with it. Alarms are always set.

  • @Goonie4life oh goodness, what a precious lil green conure 💖 I love birbs. I had to re-home by budgie with a friend when I moved last year, so I miss having a feathered friend around, but at least I still get to see him most weeks!

  • @cuddlefaery Comet is my re-home 24 year old Senegal parrot

  • @Goonie4life ah, a Senegal. My apologies, Comet 😅
