Suggestions for improving this website

Comments

  • I'd like a way to sort my favorites list.

  • @Anomaly there is a setting for friends requests notifications.

  • What about adding a like button for comments in the forums? I often want to agree with a comment, but I don't always want or have time to make a comment myself.

  • I haven't read every page to see if it's already been suggested, but what about putting restrictions on new users? Like no messaging other users for the first week or two, just posting in the forum. A probation period would give them time to get used to the community before they have a chance to bother anyone.

  • @MrSnugglesT I have regularly thought that's a good suggestion. Obviously I'm not wanting to silence anyone's voice. When I first joined it just seemed like a good idea to read and read and read the forums before commenting on things I was just learning or experiencing. So I have mixed feelings about it , it would be an interesting experiment to try it for a month or two I think. I am looking at this as a reading thing and I think hoping peeps would do some research on their own probably wont have the effect I would be looking for. But hey, I do like the idea somewhat😉

  • I’ll second/third/fifteenth the hide button option. There are some profiles that after reading make it clear we’d never be a good fit. Blocking doesn’t even hide them. If I want to block I’ll block.

What would help is being able to hide their profiles from searches. I’m sure others would appreciate nuanced controls like also being able to mute/ignore but I’m hoping for a simple hide toggle. Then I don’t click on someone’s profile again when they have a new pic, name change, or because I didn’t realize I’d already decided they were not a potential partner.

  • @MustHugDogs I love that idea!

  • A forum section for Frequent Questions, so that previously asked questions can be found.

And a forum section for Website Suggestions, for the same reason.

  • We’re limited to how many people we can block!?! 😲 W-H-Y!?! I just became EVEN MORE UNcomfortable with how this site’s ran!! 🤕

@Love2Hug222 The only problem with that is the definition of the word respect has become so broad that it’s not even respectful anymore!

  • When I search cuddlers outside my home region (because I’m travelling) it would be nice if search results showed distance in miles from the search location rather than continuing to show distance from my home location. Sorting search results by distance also would be nice. 😊

  • I'm not sure if this has been mentioned before (which is funny because I would use what I'm about to suggest in order to find out) but I would really love if there were some more advanced search function/feature for the forum at least. Like instead of a generic search box that finds ALL matches, it could be searching for thread titles, thread content, quotes, or potentially users. Most of all though I'd like to be able to at least specify in a search that I'm looking for titles of threads because I can't seem to find one that I'm looking for currently and I didn't remember to bookmark it for easy access. I'm specifically looking for a thread that was titled "I am" or something like that but those two words in the search box come up with a A LOT of results that are not what I'm looking for.

  • @CSnMUS87 I completely agree. or to even be able to search by username. If you search a username it only shows you when other folks have tagged them, but doesn't bring up that user's posts. Sometimes I have the majority of a thread title but just need to find it and it brings up every post that has those words in it.

  • The visitor section is very useful, smoking and drinking just like everyone else has stated. I will oftentimes tell people to please not smoke and then come see me as it truly nauseates me. Kids, pets, religion, even job does not really seem important honestly. It's a cuddling site. NOT a dating site. It shouldn't matter if Bob is a plus sized garbage man with 3 older kids oh and he's native American. None of that should matter if we are truly all only here for platonic CUDDLING because not everyone has time to date, gets love and attention at home, is or is not married, hasn't had a hug from their spouses in over a year. We ALL need human touch and connection, love and friendship, even if only for an hour or a few. We ALL need each other, we're not here to find a mate, or anything more than that.

I will also say this, I know many will find this just unbelievable, but asking People to select their ethnicity and height is kind of laughable. People either do not know or they straight up lie. Idk, those things don't matter to me, but why people lie about it which essentially insinuates (to me) that they believe us to be just dumb. 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

  • @mauvefox while not a search per se, there is a way to view all the comments by a particular member.
    https://www.cuddlecomfort.com/forum/profile/comments/username

Replace the username with, well, the username 😂

You can also just view all your own posts and comments by stopping at /profile

  • Feature suggestion: More control over who can view Professional profiles

I’d love to see additional privacy controls for Professional profiles — particularly the ability for Pros to limit profile visibility to members who may actually be interested in booking them.

Professional profiles contain quite a bit of business-related information: bios, pricing, policies, availability, Karma, advertising language, photos, and other information Pros spend considerable time developing.

It would be great to have an optional setting such as “Limit my profile visibility to potential clients” or the ability to restrict profile access from other Professional accounts.

I realize this wouldn't solve every issue — Enthusiast accounts could still view profiles — so another possibility might be allowing Professionals to individually block specific accounts from viewing their profile while still allowing those accounts to participate normally elsewhere on the site.

This wouldn't need to be the default. Some Pros may be perfectly happy having their profiles visible to everyone. I’d just love more control over who has access to mine. 🤍

  • Can it be made so that if someone is blocked they also no longer see each others messages on forum or would that be hard to do?

  • @a_cactus someone brought that up on another post and Mark said he won’t do that I think because it raises the issue of people talking behind peoples backs in the forums.

  • @disneysamurai aw, yeah that makes sense, still sucks but reasonable.

  • Personally, I could care less what anyone says behind my back. If they don't have the courage to say it to my face, it bears no weight.

If I wanted to read their trash talk, but couldn't because I had them blocked, then I could simply unblock them and read it. 🤷‍♀️

  • You can absolutely block people from viewing your personal profile and from messaging you directly.
You will still see them and their comments in the forums because that is a public space.
Given previous discussion on this, that is highly unlikely to change on this site.

So basically, it's kind of like the rest of life. You can block someone from being obnoxious in your dms and from contacting you directly. but you can't block someone from a restaurant and engaging in whatever behavior you found unsavory.

if someone tries to use the forums to talk directly to you or directly about you, you can report that behavior. it will lead to timeouts in the forums and ultimately bans if it continued.

  • @mauvefox Yes thank you! The issue isn't that you cannot block anyone, the issue is that there is no setting to be able to prevent other professionals from viewing your profile.

I totally appreciate the metaphor, but as this is the internet and everything is virtual - it's reasonable to ask to be able to control your profile's visibility. This is why there's already a profile setting to make it so only people with CC accounts can view your profile. My suggestion is merely to extend that feature to exclude other professionals altogether from being able to view your profile if the user chooses. Much like how enthusiasts can prevent pros from sending a DM when they're muted.

I hope that explanation makes better sense!

  • @AngelNextDoor I think i see what you're saying now, so you want to be able to block all professionals everywhere from being able to look at your profile?

That's an interesting idea for sure. Not quite a 'block' but more of a setting.

They're unlikely to do it, but it's definitely a different spin.

devils advocate, I have heard of pros booking other pros for sessions though. 🤷‍♀️ and i know a lot of pros that are friends with each other.

  • @AngelNextDoor yeah I didnt really know what you meant before but if your asking for blocking pros from seeing your profile now I understand.

  • Yes! That’s exactly what I mean. 😊 I’d actually love to get to the point where I have other Pros added as friends and feel comfortable sharing my profile with them. I know there are Pros who are genuinely friends, support each other, and even book each other, and I think that’s great!

Unfortunately, my experience so far has leaned much more toward having my content copied and having people view my profile and then reach out to clients I’ve worked with. 🤦‍♀️ So for me personally, I’d rather have the ability to keep my profile private from other Pros by default, and then choose which Pros I’m comfortable allowing access to — rather than giving every Pro access automatically and having to discover a problem before I can block someone.

I put a ridiculous amount of time into making my profile, ads, policies, and overall presentation actually reflect me and stand out. It starts standing out considerably less when pieces of it keep sailing off under somebody else’s flag. 😂🏴‍☠️

I definitely wouldn’t want that setting forced on everyone, though! Just an optional privacy control for Pros who want it.

  • 'Theme' and 'Pure Black' settings never save and revert after logging out.

    From a Pros perspective:

    1. Multi-Factor Authentication: Just an extra little layer of security when logging in.

    2. Private Pro-to-Pro Client Notes: Give pros the option to leave private notes on a client’s profile after a completed appointment that only other pros can see.

For example, if JohnDoe messages me, maybe there’s a tiny asterisk or icon next to his name showing that previous pros have left notes. I could click it and see their experiences before deciding whether I’m comfortable accepting the booking. I feel like this could be SO useful.

    1. Photo Authentication: Let users authenticate that their profile photos are actually them (and how they look currently) and then give them a little verified-photo badge or something. Idk.

    A girl can dream! lol

  • Omg Aly! YESSS to all of these!! 😭🤍 Especially the verification and Pro-to-Pro information.

Honestly, I’d happily pay for a little Pro+ package if that’s what it took to make some of these features financially realistic for the site. Take my money!
