Sometimes. If the person has a statement in the profile along the lines of "I only see people of these ages", then no. But if the preferred age range is relatively close to my age, then it probably can't hurt to ask.
I would send them a note and state I see im outside your age range by a couple years, but we have things in common which might turn into a good cuddle session..ect. Honestly, I forget to look at the age range on a profile. Oops 😁
It doesn't bother me if anyone contacts me outside my age range. No reason to be so rigid.
I have done it a few times because I was only 1-2 years older. And in closing I would say if you decide to up your preferred age a little then maybe keep me in mind. That lets them know I did read there profile.
@SunsetSnuggles Great question! I didn't realize this was one of the search filters. Now that I am aware of it, I definitely wouldn't initiate communication to be respectful of preferences. Everyone has age preferences for various reasons, no one owes anyone an explanation why.
On the flipside, I didn't set age preferences on my profile but maybe I should set it to 18-108.
In general on CC or anywhere else I might exist I would generally never.
The rare exception where I may do this is if they are within 5 years of my age AND for some reason they have +/-2 years or something. I can see that as a mistake. They just made a new account and didn't understand the settings.
If they are outside of 5 years from me and for some reason I'm not in their group I won't engage. Additionally I have a general gripe and aversion if they have specifically put their own age as a minimum. While I understand age preference is a thing I've found in adulthood that people only seeking friendship (or otherwise) with older individuals are often not nearly as mature, educated, or ready as they would like to think.
I have never seen an age range preference….
I don't think I really realized this is a thing. Mine is set to doesn't matter, so I guess my brain assumed everyone else had also put that (which is obviously not the case when I think critically). But I also just don't remember seeing many of the people who have contacted me having an age preference listed. Thank you for pointing this out, I'm going to look closer at this in the future!
If I see someone who really seems a great match, but I am outside their age range, then if and only if I contact them (usually I don't), I start off with something like, "Looks like I am outside your age range, if that's not a hard limit, read on, otherwise have a great life!"
Even though I don't have many boundaries, I do make it imperative that I'm not encroaching on anyone else's boundaries because they're set for a reason. Normally I don't question it because it's none of my business, though I do read profiles in great detail to see if I am within their parameters.
I'm open to being just friends with anybody on the site but when it comes to seeking a potential cuddle buddy, I do have 2 requirements, they have to be local to my tri-state area (NY-NJ-CT) and no younger than 25. Other than that I don't ask for much.
I’ve never come across a profile with specific age preferences. However, I, myself prefer to cuddle with older women. I don’t put it in my profile because I’m open to making exceptions for someone who is a few years younger—even as young as late 20’s—if there’s good rapport.
Eighteen to early-twenties, however, is an absolute no go for me though, regardless of rapport.
I think that if they deem it important enough to list it on their profile, they’ll be less likely to budge.
I have had others contact me under my preferred age range and I will chat with anyone who takes time out of their day to read my profile and say hello, but I am polite in that regard.
