A question for professionals and enthusiasts- Based on your preferences and people youve worked with, do majority of people like to host themselves? or do more people prefer the professional cuddler hosts. Thanks for your feedback!
I am OK with either hosting or travelling. What I consider a red flag is a situation that doesn't neatly fall into either category. I have been in contact with a pro who did not have her own vehicle, and who did not have a place to host. So I could not go to her, and she could not come to me. She wanted me to get a hotel room, pick her up, drive her to the hotel, then drop her off back home, I decided against it.
@ChemicalBob lol I would have to wonder how a pro with so many obstacles would have much luck booking sessions but I guess if a potential client is desperate enough it could happen. And maybe a client would hope that the pro would make it worth it because of what they offer. Nothing that I read here surprises me anymore.
Clients offer to host, since I can only host in public. I prefer meeting at a hotel, which works out well for travelers. I find a neutral space helps calm our nervous system with no surprise sounds or sights. Bonus I can mostly trust it will be clean.
I strongly prefer to host. I feather a pretty nice nest here by the beach and my home is all about comfort and good vibes.
I strongly prefer hosting, for so many reasons, with new clients I feel much safer being in my rented office spaces rather than in a private home or a hotel it just said sets a more professional tone and deters clients who are predatory. I also like housing because before I had my office locations I had to drive all over the place and that was exhausting and it’s just logistically easier to have people come to you than having to drive to new places all the time. Lastly, I have an optimized space for cuddking. I have very tall upholstered headboards surrounding my bed with a comfy mattress and pillow pillows and sheets and I know its all clean. I generally only am willing to go to a clients home if I’ve seen them at least once before my office or if they have extenuating circumstances like a disability or something like that.
Just being honest. I prefer for the pro to host. If I'm paying for the cost of time, I don't think it is completely out of line for them to take care of the logistics.
If they are in charge of hosting duties then they can pick the place, and set it up however they are comfortable and whatever makes them feel safe and able to provide the best care. All I have to worry about is my own transportation and the donation.
I am willing to play host, but then there is extra prep that goes with that just to make sure they are comfortable.
Most seem to prefer when the professionals host, and most of my enquiries state that they can not host, which does not align with me as I cannot host either. (I live in a fourplex with a neighbor so nosy she once reported to me the landlord for strange people coming by all day and leaving suspicious packages. It was Amazon. She was complaining about my Amazon orders 😭)
I used to hate hosting and preferred to be a guest . There were too many last minute cancellations where I was then out money I couldn't afford to be out ... The the exception to that was when I was out of town, because j was paying for a spot regardless... and even then I was happy to travel to a cuddle experience. Since I've moved into my new place last month and I have more than just a bedroom to work with. Plus I met my landlord cuddling, prior to us becoming friends, so he's my new safety person and is usually not too far away if something was to go wrong. Now I've gotten to where I'm more comfortable hosting. Still willing to travel reasonably to let a client host if they'd prefer.
So my answer would have been different the last 3.5 years to what it is now.
