Hug100 2026 - a global day of free hugs, and I'd love this community to be part of it!

Some of you may have heard of Hug100 before - it started as my own personal challenge to give 100 hugs in a day, and it's grown a little more each time since.

This year, Hug100 2026 is happening on Saturday 26th September - the day 100 people around the world each give 100 free hugs, all on the same day. If we get there, that's 10,000 hugs given out, everywhere, at once.

Wherever you are, you can take part in a way that suits you: solo, with a buddy, or gathering a small group. There's no pressure to do it a certain way, just to be part of something bigger happening together.

Since this community already understands the value of consensual, platonic touch, I thought some of you might like to be part of it too - whether that's giving hugs yourselves, or just spreading the word to people in your area.

If you'd like to know more or get involved, feel free to comment or message me and I'll share the details.

Much love and hugs to you all,
Samii!

  • First time hearing of this event. Not sure if it’s going to happen in my area. People rarely if ever even talk to each other, let alone hug

  • Sounds like such a cool concept!

  • 100 hugs in a day? Sounds lovely, but there are days and weeks that I go without even one.

  • @disneysamurai - That's a shame, why do you think that is? is it an area you think would be open to it if, given the opportunity?

  • @Samii_Hugs I think it’s just the sign of the times, especially among Gen Z. Most people are walled off and go everywhere with headphones in their ears and their face glued to their phones. No one smiles or says hi to one another

  • @disneysamurai that's not my lived experience at all! I'm always having conversations and interactions with people in public, gen Z included. ☺️

  • @JessAZ thanks, it's such a rewarding event - seeing the joy from those who come for a hug, or even those who chose not to have one but love to see them being offered is really uplifting. Some come for a hug and share that they really needed one that day or that they haven't had a single hug from anyone in a very long time - it's very humbling.

I'd love you to be a part of it if you're interested https://consciousconnectedtouch.com/hug100

  • I think it depends where you live too. I’m in a large city and no one says hello to eachother. Yesterday this woman greeted me hello and it felt so foreign I almost felt special for a moment lol. I don’t think I could do 100 hugs in a day , especially if I’m the one giving. There’s a big difference between giving and getting a hug - kinda makes me wanna post a new question in the discussion board !

  • @VAdude sorry to hear you go periods of time without a single hug - that's kinda why I started this movement - I've had so many some up and say that it's the first hug they've had in a very long time. Some get emotional.

How would you feel about offering free hugs? I honestly feel really nourished and heartful after these events - yes, I'm the one giving but seeing and feeling the connections we're creating really does fill my cup too.

Give it some thought perhaps, happy to discuss it more if you think's something you might want to do.

    Big hugs,
    Samii
