If the person who did the plagiarizing also has very similar real life experience, values, and truly offers similar cuddling, then I wouldn’t have a problem at all. As long as it wasn’t exactly the same. As long as he or she added their own style to the profile.,
Someone mentioned using AI. There is nothing wrong with using AI responsibly. What I mean by that is not doing a copy and paste directly from an AI generated profile. I use AI, but what I do is write the profile (or letter, or Poscast, or email, or resume) first - drop it into an AI engine and then give it an equally long list of instructions - such as what the purpose is, who exactly my audience is, and some background information about me and what I’m looking for. - Then when I get that reply - I rewrite the profile (or whatever the project is) and blending both, and rewording each selecting the best of both (AI is rarely the best at everything).
I think of it as having a marketing / advertising / and psychology specialist that at is either free, or as the most charges $20 a month as a consultant.
(And before people loose their minds - I’m talking about in general - not cuddling. I am an enthusiast and do NOT charge - marketing/ advertising/ psychologist reference are for other projects).
I'm not surprised to hear it was a prompt at one time, but I don't feel like that makes it any better. Think of it this way. You know how they ask the Miss America contestants some question like "If you ruled the world and had the power to make a single change to benefit society, what would you change?" And then you sit and listen to them repeat it verbatim... "If I ruled the world and had the power to make a single change to benefit society, what I would change is..." Yeah, it's like that. It's terrible lol. Maybe that's why it's no longer a prompt, because people were citing it verbatim instead of simply responding to it naturally.

How would a regular “Joe Schmoe “ like me , know who plagiarized who first ? I’m thinking you can’t always go by join date ….
I’m also thinking this is one of those report driven type scenarios where I would report two profiles that are the same and file a report . How often does it happen ? Maybe the mods can let us know how prevalent this is here ? 🤔
@OhioMike why would you report it at all? Unless it's your profile they are copying. It's maybe rude but I don't think it's report worthy except maybe by the other pro who originally wrote it.
@AngelNextDoor I've had new pros, over the years, ask me if they could use my profile or parts of it. I tell them yes it's fine with me. That I'd prefer they change a few words to make it their own. But honestly they're usually in a different part of the country.
@MeltMyWay I haven’t had to make a report like that I believe . Is there a way to resolve the plagiarism without reporting it to site ?

@OhioMike I totally agree with you — I don’t think a random third person necessarily could know who wrote something first just from looking at two similar profiles, and join date definitely wouldn’t prove it. 😊
As for spotting plagiarism, I mentioned inconsistencies between someone’s bio and their ads/posts earlier might be an indicator that one or both are stolen from someone else. That might make you go “huh, that doesn’t really sound like the same person” 😂
I think the person whose work was copied would really be the only one in a position to establish that, because they may have their original posts, older ads, screenshots, timestamps, drafts, etc. That’s also why I think it’s something better handled privately with moderators rather than other members trying to play plagiarism detective in the forum. 😇
Asking permission makes that a totally different situation. If someone says “I love how you did this, would you mind if I used it as a starting point?” and the original Pro says yes, there’s consent there. I’d personally still want someone to make it genuinely their own, but I wouldn’t consider that the same thing as quietly taking someone else’s work.
I’m actually curious about Mike’s other question too — I have no idea how frequently moderators encounter this. Apparently from some of the Pros commenting here, though, it’s definitely not unheard of. 😅
@AngelNextDoor there have been other forum posts about this but I believe they were all posted in the pros only page of the forum.
@OhioMike in this circumstance it would not be your place to get involved or to try to figure out who plagiarized who. I guess if you really felt compelled to do anything you could contact BOTH of the pros who are in question and make them BOTH aware that the other pros account looks really similar to theirs. And then simply walk away from the matter. But honestly I wouldn't even go that far. Moderators don't even police situations like that and honestly if you asked some I would bet that wouldn't want to be bothered by it.

I have visited and read your profiles and they are excellent and something to be grateful for!
If I knew a profile was plagiarized, I wouldn’t reach out/book with them. Specifically, because I don’t know if they’re a real person or not. If they are, it’s a red flag because it just means I don’t know anything about them. While it can be hard to put everything in one profile, at least writing something original tells me something. A plagiarized profile just keeps that person hidden even more.
I always make sure I read profiles. It’s the only way I can really make any determination about the other person. But I have had several pros who don’t keep up with what is written in my profile or messages. It’s a bit annoying how much I have to repeat myself. In those early messages.

I received a message like that this morning in my inbox, I politely rejected him...And then I blocked him, as I felt a "fat, ugly bitch" insult was coming. Lol! They usually toss out insults, after being half ass "complimentary" first thing. HA! 🤣😁
I see a number that look AI assisted. Sometimes I see very similar phrasing when describing how cuddling releases oxytocin etc., but not everybody is comfortable writing so it’s not like it’s a deal breaker for me.
And I ALWAYS read their profiles including the fields below - and while I’m very comfortable initiating a conversation at any level, I’m always interested to see their fav tv shows and movies and they make good conversation openers as well.

I read profiles for sure-and the ones who put extra effort into theirs are the most interesting to me.
I don’t like the idea of someone copy/pasting from someone else’s profile, because I want an idea of someone’s personality before I message or ask to book them. Maybe a few basic things wouldn’t bother me, but stealing outright seems wrong.
Okay, see, THIS is why I wanted to hear from more of the men! 😂 We had a few Pros basically tell me, “Girl, they aren't reading any of that,” and now several of you are coming in like EXCUSE ME, I READ THE ENTIRE THING. 😭
@WestsideMarc — I completely agree that AI assistance by itself wouldn't bother me either. I use AI! 😂 Not everybody enjoys writing or knows how to turn what they're thinking into something polished, and I don't think getting help expressing your own personality makes the end result inauthentic.
Where it gets weird to me is when another person's writing becomes the source material — whether someone literally copy/pastes it or feeds it into AI and says “rewrite this so it sounds different.” At that point AI hasn't really solved the originality problem; it's just made the copying slightly harder to recognize. 😂
And I LOVE that you use favorite shows/movies as conversation starters because that's exactly why those little profile details matter! They're giving you an actual person to start a conversation with instead of 47 variations of “I love cuddling and making people feel comfortable.” 😂 Also YES to favorite bands/music. I need to flesh that out better in my profile.

@hugpoweredhuman — your answer gets right to what I was originally curious about. If you're using the profile to get a feel for someone's personality before deciding whether to message/book them, then originality actually matters. The profile isn't just informational at that point; it's part of how you're deciding whether this particular person feels like someone you'd connect with.
And I think your distinction between “a few basic things” and outright stealing is important too. There's obviously going to be overlap. We're professional cuddlers — approximately 98% of us are eventually going to use the words “comfortable,” “affectionate,” “safe,” and “boundaries.” 😂 Nobody owns those concepts.
What feels different to me is when someone has clearly put effort into developing a distinctive profile/voice/description and another person lifts enough of it that they're essentially borrowing the personality being presented, not merely the vocabulary.
That's actually the part I'm most curious about from the client side: if you discovered AFTER booking someone that the profile that attracted you to them was substantially copied from another Pro, would that change how you viewed them? 👀
Because THAT was really the question rattling around in my head when I started this thread. 😂
