How can I convince my parents that cuddling with a professional is a good idea? While I've loved it, it's been a point of contention between my parents and I and I'm not sure how to address it with them.
Address it as the fact you're an adult and could be doing a whole hell of a lot worse with yourself.
I don't think your parents would agree with you paying somebody to cuddle with you, your 20 years old so they would assume you can get a girlfriend to cuddle with. I don't know anything about you but you may have your reasons for hiring a professional cuddler and thats cool but most people would not agree with it especially at your age. You can find non pros on this site to cuddle with but a lot of people don't agree with meeting people online so i don't think your going to convince them. But if this is really what you want to do just make sure your safe, if thats what makes you happy so be it, you don't have to please everyone.
@cease2exist If I had a dollar for every time I've used that excuse ?
@sethryan44 Then you could buy all the overnight slots you want, haha.
@cease2exist That's one thing even I'm still not sure about. It's like having a 32 oz. steak. Sure it's my favorite food, but my appetite will have been sated well before I'm finished. I've only done a one hour session and left completely satisfied.
I'm a greedy son of a gun, but too broke to behave greedily, haha. Or meagerly, for that matter.
@cease2exist Story of my life brother. I'm actually surprised how laid back and accommodating the woman I cuddled with was. Made me more comfortable with this whole thing overall.
It's certainly a wonderful place we've found ourselves here, when it's working out well.
You are old enough to make your own choices. You do not have to discuss everything with your parents. If this conversation with your parents is unproductive and unpleasant then you can simply avoid it.
It's a big world out there. Find your own path. Your parents walked theirs, now you get to find and walk yours.
@snugglicious - he may be old enough to make his own choices but is he mature enough to deal with the consequences of those choices? Most young people think they know better than their parents, and they may do sometimes, but parents have already been through most of the things that their children are confronted with, so their advice can be valuable and should not be discounted. @sethryan44 - What objections have your parents raised?
@UKGuy The thing I hear the most is that I shouldn't have to pay for something that should be free. Not sure what they mean by that to be honest.
Nothing is "free".
@ubergigglefritz Got that right!
@Seth2018 as a Mom of 23 and 25 year old girls and a 15 year old son I have heard more times than I have wanted to things they did as teens up till even now. Had I known these things as a teen I’d probably have beaten their hiney, now the things are funny. We want our children happy and if being happy means you have to be with a cuddler every now and then I don’t see anything wrong with it. It’s like the others have said you are an adult. Now if you go borrow 80 bucks and not tell her why she may beat your hiney!!
Examples from my own clients telling me stories:
A woman seeking "free" cuddles might have her boundaries pushed, assaulted, or raped. No longer free, because now you have to find a way to heal from the trauma of "free" cuddles =P Is your safety worth anything to you? Seeing a quality professional assures your safety and ability to truly relax and recharge without worry about intentions.
A man seeking "free" cuddles may spend hours upon hours trying to contact women, trying to schedule a time to meet up with someone, and never getting anywhere. Is your time not worth anything to you? Seeing a quality professional assures you the ability to schedule a time for a session which works for the both of you, in a relatively painless process.
Remind your parents they pay for water.....which oft falls from the sky in many places.
@UKGuy He has consulted with his parents and considered their advice when he made his decision. They are at an impasse and further discussion is pointless.
If he is to ever be an independent adult then the final decision, and its consequences, are his. If he lacks maturity he will never gain it by letting others make choices for him.
Is it possible they don't understand it? Because of certain stigmas, they could be concerned of certain things going on in their home. Not that that would make their reaction acceptable, but perhaps they are over thinking and therefore overlooking the innocence and kindness of it.
@sethryan44 Do you still live with your parents? If so, do you pay rent (and other incidentals)? I only ask because they might be thinking that if you can't afford to pay for your own place, or to contribute to the household, then paying for a cuddle is a luxury or an expense you could do without.
I think that the only real solution would be to hire professional cuddlers for your parents, without their knowing, and to then force them into cuddling at gunpoint*.
I’m sure they’ll come to see things as you do.
*You could also make them submit with a melee weapon, like a knife, or a club made of bone, but this would necessitate your being in the thick of things with your parents and the professional cuddlers you hired. The former group might try to disarm you, while the latter might charge extra. These are important details to keep in mind.
I've also had my mom liken pro cuddling to "prostitution without the sex" which I feel is offensive to both me and the pros on this site.
Yeah, that's what I figured. If you don't live in their house, I wouldn't work about it.
@teapot Problem is that I do. I've gone other places to cuddle though. Never met someone at my house.
Then screw what they say. What you're out for ain't their business if it's not criminal behavior. You can always "go to a friend's house".
@sethryamn once is enough . You need to focus on your college studies, graduate , and get going on earning a living . It’s a tough world out there . At your age , you should set your sights on positioning yourself to have the world On a string in ten years .
@BigHugsCA you had to be the rational paying rent kind of poster here? ? I’m teasing! Now that we know he lives at home that changes everything. He could be a college student or have a job, rent paying, respectful and helpful young man OR he could be a lay around the house, no job and play video games, his room is a pig stye and is a disrespectful young man. There are some unknowns here that because we don’t know make it difficult to answer or give advice. So I say, go with what the mom says because moms ARE ALWAYS RIGHT!! ?
@sethryan44 The FAQ has some responses to the statement "shouldn't cuddling be free".
This post might also be relevant.
@sethryan44 - You could explain to your parents that starting a relationship with someone also costs money for entertainment and dates etc. And further explain that you don't want or need a relationship right now and would just like to get your physical touch needs met without all the baggage that goes along with a relationship.
Go see @Lylliette or @SnugglyBuggly for example. $75 and plenty of good karma for both, within 50 miles of you and they can host. They are experienced cudllers and will deliver a better experience than a newbie. The best cuddlers I've seen are actually more affordable (and have plenty of good karma). On the few occasions I've paid more it wasn't worth it. I think the real pros want to cuddle and would rather do 8 sessions a week for $75 each than 1 session every 2 weeks for $100.
