What’s your favorite Batman show/movie? Who’s your favorite Batman villain? What is your favorite Batman moment?
Currently in my Batman shirt (same one I'm wearing in one of my pics here) so this is already my favorite post on the forum. Favorite Batman shows are Batman: The Animated Series or Batman Beyond. Both fantastic and where my love for Batman was born. Joker. He's just the best villain. He does it for the love of the game. He chooses chaos. Though the Riddler is a close second just because I love riddles. My favorite moment comes from The Killing Joke. Literally the last scene, where the Joker tells Batman a joke and they're both just laughing.
Awesome, was also a big fan of the Batman animated series from the 90s as well as the two Tim Burton films and the Christopher Nolan Batman films, plus the one that came out in 2022 with Robert Patterson. And yes, the Joker is the best!
Dug the first two nolan batman movies. Tim burton stuff was great as a kid as well. Felt like the third one had some issues.
Different type of batman show/movie but i liked the campiness of the 60s batman too, local tv station played reruns of it when the first burton movie came out.
Batman the animated series leveled up how good/serious an animated comic book show could be imo. Entertaining for adults and children. I watched it in high school.e
Did not care for the reeves batman movie. I feel like it ran way too long, dragged along and some stuff was ridiculous like batman approaching penguin by just knocking on his front door lol.
the riddle of the carpet tool was too easy/on the nose too. expected some more complexity. the scene with batman all sad on the ground with some stuff written on the ground trying to figure things out i felt wasn't done right. hated riddler found him to be obnoxious what with the singing and all.

idk about moment. hard to pinpoint an exact moment but i did love the whole knightfall arc (in the books not the movie.. movie did it all too fast)

The Batman (animated series) was probably my favorite. and specifically the joker from that show is my favorite villain. Heath Ledger, I thought did an excellent job portraying a similar version of the joker from The Batman.
Favorite moment was the pencil bit and when he burned all the money (Heath Ledger) because it showed the crazy for crazy's sake mentality.
I actually was also a fan of Ben Affleck as an older kind of broken down batman. i thought he did a really good job.
You didn't ask about dislikes and mine might be an unpopular opinion, but I actually did not care for Christian Bale's batman. I thought his Bruce Wayne was just a copy of his American Psycho character. and his vocalizations just.... ugh. He was just kind of yuck for me.
Batman from 1939 enters public domain in 2035. Gonna see a lot of very interesting imaginings of batman.

@mauvefox I completely agree; I think Bale was just fine? The movies were good, but I didn't feel like he brought anything to the role or Bruce Wayne or Batman. I also thought that Robert Pattinson actually did a great job of being an early Batman before he figured out any sort of balance.

I like the animated Justice league show. I believe Christian Bale did excellent at Bruce and Ben Affleck was great for Batman. My favorite moment is the Batman warehouse scene in SvB dawn of Justice. I like the grittiness in general
My favourite is the 1960s TV Series starring Adam West and Burt Ward as the caped crusader and The Boy Wonder, also some amazing villains Frank Gorscin as The Riddler, Cesar Romero as The Joker, Burgess Meredith as The Penguin, Julie Newmar as Catwoman, Joan Collins appears as Siren, Victor Bueno as King Tut, Bruce Lee appears as Kato a treat to see him in a fight scene. Some great actors and characters, not to mention the double act of Commisioner Gordon and Cheif O'Hara who must have had low self esteem because they were always picking up the bat phone because they couldn't handle any criminals themselves. I've not watched it for years now I'd say Burgess Meredith as The Penguin was my favourite villain, probably because I watched it first thing in the morning and Great as The Riddler and The Joker were, they were a bit much at that time in the morning. Julie Newmar was always great, and a shout out to fearless stand up comedian of his day Milton Berle who played Louie the Lilac and another real character Tallulah Bankhead who played Black Widow. At the time of watching I didn't feel Batgirl played by Yvonne Craig added much in the 3rd series, but always worth trying something different.
I grew up with and have fond memories of the Adam West Batman. Romero’s joker with the makeup over his mustache and Gorshin’s Riddler are iconic to me. With Julie Newman making an impression on a young hormonal boy,lol
I enjoyed the animated series, especially rushing home after work to watch it.
My favorite Batman is Bale directed by Nolan. Even Ledger’s Joker imbues that crazy chaos the joker is know for IMO.
I couldn’t think of a moment until I read @mauvefox ’s. The pencil scene was fabulous. Plus the money scene where he slides down and tosses the money stack up and hits the actor in the face unscripted. The actor had a true look of anger from that he said.
I was at work one day and talking to a few firemen at their station. I got to slide down the “Bat Pole”. That was an awesome experience.
Saw Justice League mentioned and had to jump on that bandwagon! I read Batman comics, Frank Miller and No Man’s Land were especially good. But the Animated Batman from the 90’s was the first cartoon that caught my eye, THEN the Justice League. The movies were fine but didn’t capture my imagination nearly as much. I love a character study and Batman is SO traumatized, like, that guy can’t catch a break. He’s at his best when he has other characters to bounce off of. My favorite characters alongside him were Jon Johnz (the Martian Manhunter) Wonder Woman and Superman. Jon being able to match him in personal tragedy and also act as counsel to detective work and theory was nice to see. Superman is just the perfect foil and Batman has to respect him, somewhat at least. WW/Batman is probably still my favorite ‘cannon pairing’.

One of THE best Batman storylines- Batman the Long Halloween (with a close second going to the whiny Batman man child in the Harley Quinn show 😭)
Favorite Batman show/movie: For the show part I have 2. The classic Animated Series and the Caped Crusader series on Prime video which is basically a grown up and more violent version of the animated series. Basically the former for nostalgia and the latter for it's intensity. As for the movies, also 2. My childhood favorite is Batman Returns and my more modern-ish favorite is The Dark Knight.
Favorite Batman villain: The Batman universe as a whole has a lot of savvy villains with their own personalities and origins. The Joker is an easy favorite because he is in true essence a villain and not so much a victim of circumstance or being done wrong. Much love to Jack Nicholson, but Heath Ledger's Joker has set the ultimate bar in not just Joker reprisals but Batman villainy as a whole. Ledger's Joker was complex, he was tactical, he didn't just do stuff out of chaos even if that was in the Joker's nature. Every thing he did had rhyme and reason to it, a method to the madness and majority of it all was to test Batman's sanity to bring him down to his level.
Favorite Batman moment: In the Dark Knight, Joker's plan to goad the people in two separate ferries to destroy one another backfires and for the first time in the movie, the Joker shows actual frustration and was truly defeated as Batman manages to apprehend him. Even though he realizes that he was unable to corrupt Batman, he felt satisfied in knowing he got into Harvey Dent's head. Harvey Dent hellbent on revenge, takes Commissioner Gordon's family hostage, blaming him for Rachel's death. Batman saves the family from harm but also in the process kills Dent unwillingly. Batman remembering what Dent said to him as Bruce Wayne "You either die a hero, or live long enough to see yourself become the villain." Batman took full blame and responsibility for Dent's death, putting a target on his back and allowing Harvey Dent to die a hero even though he was in his villain phase. The Dark Knight is truly one of the greatest stories ever scripted to theater.

No idea what my favourite moment is. Film wise it has to be Batman 89 or The Dark Knight. And always loved The Riddler particularly in the Arkham games.
I highly recommend reading the two John Jackson Miller books based on the 89 Batman.
@mauvefox - I never saw American Psycho so I never associated Christian Bale’s portrayal of Bruce Wayne with that character. Christian Bale was my favorite Batman - beating both Michael Keaton and George Clooney (who I consider tied for 2nd place).
As for villains, Heath Ledger’s Joker is in a class by himself - hands down the best live action Batman villain of all time.
