Messaging: What's going on on the other side of the conversation?

Alright, I have a few things I would enjoy sharing that I have found in regards to messaging people on here.

Message First

There are tons of people aching to cuddle, but no one ever messages them or replies back. It can be a little heartbreaking to have that happen over and over again. I am sure it is more common with men unfortunately. I was able to have insight from a male's perspective during his first sign up to this site. A couple women messaged him first and it was the most welcoming thing he could have experienced, also, he ended up cuddling with one of them who happened to be a pro. Just an idea for any other pros out there on this site looking for ways to increase business.

I do suggest looking up ways to be okay with rejection in a healthy way, because we all know it takes a toll the more and more it happens. Luckily YouTube is a wonderful resource for that. If you don't, there is a chance that you may be giving off an unwelcoming or negative vibe and it could be hurting your chances at finding the right cuddler for you. There are also videos that might help you learn how to carry on a conversation. That may lead to you being able to set up a session that feels right for you.

Women Get More Messages

I hear complaints that guys who message women on here do not get replies back. Well, there may be a few things going on that you might not realize consciously. She might have 8 new messages from guys already. Maybe 4 of them she has ongoing conversations with. Maybe 3 of them she is emailing back and forth trying to set up an appointment. Perhaps that last one is just a creepy guy making her feel uncomfortable and she is trying to figure out the next steps to shut that down.

Women get more messages. It is hard to keep up with the conversations and sometimes it's even easy to overlook one or two. Instead of getting upset or annoyed, be empathetic. Perhaps your welcoming message was not received well or just saying "hi" might not cut it for her. I don't know other women and what they like, but the internet has resources to teach you methods that might illicit a response that you have been craving.

Asking For Personal Contact Information

DON'T DO IT. The message a woman receives when you are trying to get her phone number or email is that you just want to take the conversation away from the website and go down a non-consensual conversational path. She doesn't want to risk being stalked or harassed. She doesn't want to test her boundaries with you. Keeping the conversations on this site gives her a sense of safety and for you, accountability of being respectful of her. She will feel safer knowing she can report any unwanted solicitation and overall have a better experience. Women often get sexually harassed here, for me it's nearly every day. You might not be one of those guys... but they exist and you need to be aware of that. Don't take it personally, it's not you (and if it is, shame on you).

Scheduling

One of the biggest annoyances I get when it comes to scheduling is the constant back and forth trying to set up a session. If you are interested in meeting, get all the details at once, especially with a pro. They probably have several people they are trying to schedule with, and checking for one piece of the puzzle every 10 minutes is a waste of time for them and is highly frustrating.

Example of questions to ask:
How long of a session are you interested in?
What are a few dates and times that work for you? (Or suggest your own)
Where are you meeting up?
What is the full address? (Apartment or room number included if applicable)

Visitors To Your Page, But No Message?

I think it is easy to feel rejected if someone visits your page and doesn't message you. Maybe they weren't interested, but maybe it is something different than that. I honestly like popping up in people's visitors list because I want them to know that I was at least interested enough to check out their profile. I may not message purely because it's hard to keep up with too many conversations at once.

My advice? Message your visitors. They don't know the real you. They don't know your personality. Profiles don't always convey who you are, but messaging back and forth can help with that. The biggest thing is, don't take it personally. There is no ill intent (I hope) behind not messaging after visiting your page. Initiative could be all that is needed. It's worth a try at least right?

Profiles Without Photos

I can't tell you how nerve wracking it can be to be willing to cuddle with someone who you don't even know what they look like. I know there are many reasons people choose not to put their photo online, but it may be inhibiting you from getting messages. If you choose not to post your picture, I suggest you do most of the initiating of conversations and also offer to send a photo eventually after some back and forth. If you are not comfortable with that, just know it may hurt your chances of cuddle sessions.

What if you send a picture and they change their mind on cuddling? Then thank them for their honesty that they aren't going to waste your time. You do not need to subject yourself to someone who is not going to be there with you 100% and to be willing to open up. I know there are people who are discriminatory on here, and that's their own personal thing they are dealing with, but that is not a reflection upon you. That's on them. You do not need to be with someone who rejects you based on looks, they aren't compatible for you. You are beautiful just the way you are. You are worthy of being seen and heard.

Age Differences

She's 20 something. He's 60 something. WHO CARES! I know it's easy to discriminate because of age. I used to be one of them... but then something happened. I am 29 and have been cuddling with a 70 year old on a weekly basis and he is by far one of the best clients I have ever had. Why? I get to learn about a whole different generation, I hear stories and mindsets that blow my mind. I am inspired. Honestly, I am so thankful that he entered my life. After that I started cuddling people in their 50s and 60s (they are more common to find on here) and even more knowledge was bestowed on me. Stories of life experience, of heartache, of love.

If you are younger, I urge you to at least be open to the concept of cuddling with someone older. If you have had sexual trauma from someone older or think that they might creep on you, take some extra precautions that help put you at ease. My suggestions include: Skype for 10 minutes on a cuddler only account, message back and forth for a while, meet in a public place first, make sure to have a spiel ready that outlines your boundaries.

The thing is, there is a lot of ageism that goes on. It is heartbreaking for the older community. They might have been in loveless marriages and just miss having a companion, they might have had a partner die, they might have been abandoned by their families, the list goes on. Open your heart to them. You may just change their life... heck, it may just change yours.

If you like what I wrote and/or think there is more I should add, I welcome it. I hope this helps with your messaging needs.

  • Introverts vs. Extroverts

First off, let's just put a reminder out there that there are introverts and extroverts. Why do I mention this? Because introverts in general need to feel like they are comfortable with the person before ever meeting them. They need the back and forth exchange in order to feel safer and that you are a right fit to enter into such a intimate setting with them. Perhaps they have been traumatized in some way, maybe they haven't been cuddled in who knows how long, or what if they just need a friend? Perhaps offer a free 10 min Skype session to these people (perhaps have a separate Skype account only for cuddlers to keep your privacy). Really, just practice being mindful.

Extroverts tend to not need as much of a set up because they already feel pretty open to the world and in general are readily able to strike up a conversation organically. Of course, everyone is different and this may not apply to them, but it may lead to less conversing back and forth online.

  • One other thing, that has been addressed before but bears repeating, is that not all relationships are alike. I have been asked why I am here since I'm in a relationship -- okay, I understand, but:

    • this isn't a dating site
    • I'm not hiding anything
    • what does platonic mean to YOU?
    • the "why" isn't really the underlying question, is it? It's whether I'm here "cheating" or looking for a back door to an affair. So, ask that, and don't demand personal details about my relationship...I don't mind explaining, but demands aren't welcome
    • if you're a pro, and you refuse to cuddle anyone who isn't single, that says more about you than it does about me
    • did I mention this isn't a dating site?

Sure, cuddling is intimate, and could be a real problem for anyone cuddling those of us in relationships, in some circumstances. I understand that, of course! So, certain questions aren't the issue; it's the tone and assumptions and unsolicited feedback that are disappointing.

Put it this way: if you are not interested in cuddling someone who is in a relationship, how about just saying that outright? There's no sense in trying to shame someone...especially when there's nothing shameful going on.

  • @TisDoney: Thanks. That may take some time to digest.
    @Myrddyn: +1

  • @Myrddyn I couldn’t agree more. I’m in a relationship and yet I’m still here. Just looking for cuddles. Right now we are long distance until her son graduates high school this year. Cuddling helps my depression and anxiety and has been very healing for me after a bad relationship.

I love my girlfriend and have absolutely no desire to be romantic with anyone else. I simply want platonic cuddle buddies and she supports that. Her pointnof view is it’s like taking meds or seeing a therapist. You wouldn’t ask someone not to do that. Also, we are both very secure in our relationship and how we feel about each other. I agree, I think the reaction to someone in a relationship being on here says more about the person reacting than the other person.

@Brant76 - I think the concern with cuddling someone in a relationship is that there will be a knock on the door in the middle of the session and then a confrontation with an irate spouse/boyfriend/girlfriend or possibly a private investigator photographing you as you enter or leave the premises and timing your visit. These are very real and legiitimate concerns to have.

  • @UKGuy -- sure, but that doesn't justify prying into specifics of why someone in a relationship might seek cuddling.

Also, the exact same scenario you described could occur with ANYONE here...there's no proof a member is single. Should I grill a pro about their private life?

It should be enough that someone is honest about their status, and is willing to discuss it, but the "why" should be "because I want to," and questions about the relationship itself, while perhaps understandable, aren't anyone's business.

@TisDoney. Thank you and @myrddyn for thoughtful post and response. I could not have said it better ?

  • The photo thing I super agree with, it’s what really holds me back. I used to be a lot more trusting but a few scary people can make you wary of everyone. Photos can be faked I guess but it always makes me feel much more comfortable. It’s why I make a point to post my face even though like most people I hate how I look physically. Lol

I think a lot of people assume that since they arnt what’s considered “pretty” no one will want to cuddle them. That might be true to some degree on a dating site, but I think here it’s different.

Also because I’m wary, I like to talk/chat then Skype before going to meet someone in person. And so many on here want to jump straight into meeting up to cuddle. I think if that’s your speed you might be better off contacting one of the super sweet professionals on here.

Haha I’d just appreciate it if people didn’t accuse me of yanking their chain or being a cold fish because I’d rather not drive out to visit someone I don’t know after 3 messages from them.

  • @UKGuy those are legit concerns but I think that’s where the honesty in the profile comes into play, so people can assess whether or not they’d like to take the risk. It’s enough to know the relationship is there. No one is owed a detailed story, most of the time it doesn’t change much about the situation to know. Also people do sometimes lie anyway.
