  • @DarrenWalker wow It seems like you just want to discuss and discuss endlessly, it's incredible how you bring pieces of the same text in this very same forum to what is seems a way to feed a discussion to go over and over again over the same thing.

    Well have fun then.

    Bye bye!

    @garrablanca

"Just a few things to say... 1.- yeah is good to discuss any idea but. 2.- It will be fair if you also attach the post that is related to the comment."

Sure it's good to discuss ideas. My focus was the last part that was said in the post. @DarrenWalker has attached the post/rest which is cool.

"3.- Anyway either way, I don't see why you have to feel offended to the point to feel compelled to ask for respect, I do respect all the Pros here you all are just trying to do an extra money, and that's perfectly fine."

Some topics are controversial. So, I encourage a respectful discussion for all. It's an overgeneralization to say that* pros are: 'just in it for the money.' It is unfair to judge, and reduce the care, comfort many people [you have no experience with] provide as: "By the way... Pros are excluded from this, because they do it for money anyway."

If one gets the comfort they need from professional Cuddlers, that is what matters most. @KeeleyShoup gave wonderful advice on dealing with some of the challenges one might experience with pros, and talked about improvements being made.

'4.- but no matter the reason that you can drag under the spotlight here to argue that you also have feelings, the relationship between a client and a Pro... Is not the same as those who are finding themselves struggling to meet that perfect non-pro cuddle buddy. So you pros are excluded because at the end, no matter if it was a good or a bad cuddle session you will end up wining something that the other side don't. 5.- nevertheless I'm not saying you pro buddys don't have your own difficulties, but please let's no mix apples with pears. 6.- Yes you have the right to complain, but as a Pro and under that terms, that's fair and you should not feel offended because of this.'

What part of what I said "argues" that: "I also have feelings."? In many ways, the relationship between clients - pros is the same as between non-pros. Being paid does not make a respectful, genuinely caring person, less of that. Nor does it mean that they don't deal with* rejection, judgement, etc. which can lead to: self-pity.

Nobody deserves their experience of: mistreatment, over-generalization, self-pity, etc. to be minimized even, if they are a professional. Nor is dealing with these issues any less serious.

  • @DarrenWalker exactly! It's not good to mistreat, or minimize the struggles of anyone: professionals, or not.

@Lovelight wow you are touching a lot of points here, mixing things but you know what at the end it doesn't matter this community will continue doing what it does, no matter what is my opinion or yours.
So let's don't waste more time arguing on this. You said your thoughts and I said mine it's clear we are not agree.
At least let's agree on the disagree.
    Have a good night.

@garrablanca @DarrenWalker and I are NOT twisting, nor mixing anything up. We said how you said, and responded accordingly.

It seems to me that: you are projecting thus, you do your work "JUST for the money." However, for many people, that is not the case. Many do their work because they have a genuine care in improving, and helping the world/others. Nor are their struggles with: judgement, overgeneralization, etc. less hurtful just because they are professionals/get paid. They are also not immature for feeling hurt due to disrespect/mistreatment/etc. As @DarrenWalker also state in the last response starting with: "@garrablanca: [grin] For the sake of everyone else, a quick summary:"

My hope is this discussion helps our community to become more empathic, welcoming, and respectful of one another professionals, or not.

    Peace. :)

Thank you, @Lovelight. Yes, I don't believe either of us is deliberately twisting @garrablanca's words or purposely mixing up anything he's said.

Frankly, even given his unusual grammatical style, it's difficult to misunderstand something like "Pros are mature enough to not engage their feelings in something that they're doing as a business. So they as humans may need some support, but they should be better prepared for these situations [i.e., rejection, mistreatment, other emotional hurts]. If not... what a pity!"

I definitely agree that I disagree with @garrablanca on that. "It's not personal, it's business" is the sort of thing you'd expect to hear from a vicious criminal (like Don Lucchesi, say)... not a cuddler. Feelings can't be stripped away and set aside like that—no, not even for money.

Well, most people can't do it, anyway. We care!

Edit: No, it was Lucchesi who said that, not Corleone. Whoops. Well, same difference....

  • @Lovelight well so far after all the exposure we haven't achieve any agreement... So for us our relationship remains the same.
But well the world keeps turning and turning.
Let's see how far this ideas survive.

  • @garrablanca Seeing: "how far these ideas survive." is not the point of having discussions.

If you want to claim you are not saying the things you said, that's on you. You are also free to stop participating in the discussion. "Peace." :)

  • @DarrenWalker how come is that you do not have any Karma from Pros?
How many experience do you have with people giving this service as a Pro?

@Lovelight In your case well the very same questions...

You'll see I think you both are defending an idea based on a concept rather than experience, I can not see you have the experience enough to claim that MANY PEOPLE are doing this for the sake of the humanity.

it sounds nice, it's romantic, but for experience I can say no it's not like that.

But... Like I said, time will put to the test all the ideas.

This thread is like a pileup of cars that continues to grow over time, and every car involved is driven by Tommy Wiseau.

There’s a deafening crash, and nonsensical verbiage follows. Then: a sudden explosion, the roar of flames, and shrieks. A swarm of firefighters put out the fire, yet they hardly have a moment to breathe before another car smashes into the hunks of twisted metal and charred corpses. This process repeats itself.

    It’s glorious.

  • [Deleted User]DarrenWalker (deleted user)

@hogboblin: Ha. It really is. And so it is that, though I should be asleep, I'm still here....

@garrablanca: You've said that a pro is not emotionally hurt by rejection or mistreatment by clients and potential clients unless that pro is immature.

As a Pro you are mature enough to not engage your feelings in something that is handling as a business.

This means that if a pro is emotionally hurt by rejection or mistreatment by clients and potential clients, it's because that pro is immature.

They should be better prepare for these situations. If not... then What a Pity :anguished: !!!

As I said before: "Apparently you really do believe deeply that people who make a living caring for others and making them feel better aren't hurt when their clients (potential or actual) reject or mistreat them—and that if they are hurt, it's their own fault."

  • @DarrenWalker

It should be noted that I see you as one of the firefighters.

One of the handsome, sweaty, powerful firefighters. You are stoicism made flesh.

I hope that you manage to get some sleep soon. ❤️ U ?‍?

  • @garrablanca "... "because they do it for money anyway."

That's right, this phrase applies to basically any profession, ..."

I didn't yet pay for cuddles/cuddle parties. However, many professionals from doctors, therapists, store owners, etc. have brought much value to my life, and were kind, friendly, supportive.

Just the fact that one is being paid does not make them any less kind, and genuine about what they do. Nor does it make their experience of mistreatment, etc. any less worthy of consideration, and care.

.ha ha ha ha oh @DarrenWalker is the same thing... There is nothing more to say? Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha what's happening to you? Are you Now a broken record?
By the way nice move to avoid my questions... Now I will leave you to work in your replay!

    @Lovelight: Well said!

@garrablanca: You're an interesting person. You say pros are only hurt by rejection or mistreatment if they're immature. I ask whether that's really what you're saying. You tell me that it is. I point out that that's horrible. You deny saying it. I point out (again) that you said it. You deny saying it again. I point out that it's really obvious that's what you're saying... and you tell me to stop pointing out that you've said something so horrible, and beg me to follow your red herrings.

Why don't you just say straight out, "Pros shouldn't care how they're treated in their job, because they're making money and that's all that should matter—unless they're immature and actually have feelings about the way people treat them." Why, I wonder, won't you acknowledge that this is what you believe?

  • @garrablanca you've been saying things than denied saying them claiming @DarrenWalker and I are "mixing/twisting" things. If you want honesty as you claim to want, take accountability for what you say.

  • @DarrenWalker

Certainly, I highly doubt it has anything to do with language barriers! It is what it is.

Many people do care, and we do. :)

  • Let it be noted that on this day, feb 27 2019, there was a debate thread that continued to rage through the night, and that i, @pmvines , did not participate!

  • [Deleted User]DarrenWalker (deleted user)

@pmvines: A historical non-participation! May the record of the internet, in ages to come, reflect it.

  • @DarrenWalker are you offering to be my scribe?

Let it be noted that on this day, feb 27 2019, there was a debate thread that continued to rage through the night, and that i, @pmvines , did not participate!

@pmvines lol, you were here once before, so, it's cool. Anyway, gotta dash now. Keep well. :)

  • [Deleted User]DarrenWalker (deleted user)

@pmvines: Nah, just expressing a hope that the fathomless vault of information that is the internet will retain this important piece of history.

I'd make a great scribe, though. Assuming I didn't lose my piece of paper.

  • @Lovelight wait I never denied what I said because what I said is right there in my text...

I'm just discussing your interpretation about what you think that I'm saying.
You'll see @DarrenWalker loves to argue and that's fine that helps me to improve my English. Which is great.
And then the first time he elaborate his argument to expose what he thought I was saying... I say to him Oh yes that's another good way to say it... And he get hook on that....and that trigger more and more intents to discuss.

But if you never had cuddling anyone to be able to gain a nice feedback on you guys... Well then you are just a long long discussion on the internet.

    (Peace) :p

  • [Deleted User]DarrenWalker (deleted user)

@garrablanca: Oh, what fun. I'm so glad I have the upcoming night off, so I can stay up a while and enjoy this. Ready?

You: "I never denied what I said."

Also you: "I think now your are getting it wrong. If you lost the idea by adding some other things and twisting it, I can't help you."

Also you: "Wow you are touching a lot of points here, mixing things but you know what at the end it doesn't matter this community will continue doing what it does, no matter what is my opinion or yours."

So... telling us "that's not what I said, you're getting it wrong, you're twisting my words" isn't denying what you've said?

  • [Deleted User]DarrenWalker (deleted user)

Addressing the red herring now, @garrablanca: @Lovelight and I don't need karma on our profiles to notice that you're saying pros only get hurt by rejection and mistreatment from clients if they're immature.

  • @DarrenWalker nice try to keep the discussion but I don't see how, I think you should read all over again if you don't get it, I'm not like you that copy and paste past post, sorry you have to do your own homework.

  • [Deleted User]DarrenWalker (deleted user)
    edited February 2019

@garrablanca: You don't see how... what? You don't see how you're saying that pros only feel emotional pain after being rejected or mistreated by a client (potential or otherwise) if they're immature?

No, surely not—goodness knows @Lovelight and I have pointed that out often enough, in enough different ways, with enough direct quotes from you, and besides, you're the one who said it! You know perfectly well that you're insisting pros cut themselves off from human emotion when employed in providing a human connection to clients (or else, so you say, they're immature).

Of course you don't want to bring your past words out where they can be seen [Edit: again], and have a go at explaining them away: it wouldn't work.

  • @DarrenWalker this is fun... Keep trying, I'm not going to do you homework, besides you love to do that... So what are you wanting for? Put the internet on fire and have fun.

  • [Deleted User]DarrenWalker (deleted user)

@garrablanca: Quoting you as you repeatedly devalue the human feelings of every pro on the website is hardly homework. "Pros don't need to know how to handle the feelings of self-pity that come with rejection and mistreatment from other cuddlers, because they do it for money," you say, and... is pointing out what a nasty thing this is to say really homework?

  • @DarrenWalker ok now that once again you are trying to keep the discussion alive... And your are sharing nothing more than your own interpretation about what I said...
I simply will wait to someone else to join you, let see what happens.
    I will read it later.
