@garrablanca: Oh dear. And what, I wonder, is your interpretation of what you said?
Were you to reframe it, express your thought in different words, what would you say to explain the fact that "pros are excluded" from your advice on dealing with self-pity resulting from rejection and mistreatment, because "they do it for money anyway"?
@hogboblin just know your dark humor makes me chuckle daily.
I am a pro-cuddler because i need a job that is fufilling and rewarding on an emotional level. I have a need to help people AND pay my bills. There is a market for professional cuddlers, because some people need a pro. There is no cookie cutter for humans. Everyone has different needs. There are people who are actually looking for cuddle therapy. This is a whole different type of client. I have started reaching out to therapists to offer my services to clients they may have that need my help. When you have a problem, you can call a friend, you can chat with them, but there is a level of bias there, as they are a friend. You can then have a session with a therapist, talk about the same problems and walk away feeling much different, somehow more free. This is because the therapist is a professional. They are not emotionally invested in the outcome, they are just there to help you the best they can. A pro cuddler can offer a very similar outcome. Yes, i very much get satisfaction from cuddling a client, but the client has no emotional obligation to me. They are in a completely judgement free zone where there are no preconceived notions of how they should behave. There is no pressure, there are no expectations, etc.
Pros have their place. enthusiasts have their place. We should never assume that the way we feel, is the way everyone else feels. We should not assume that our needs are the same as others. We are all just trying to exist.
@MissAdventurous
Well, golly gee, miss. I’m pleased that you find my being a horrible mess so entertaining. ?
Ok. As of 28 FEB 2019 13:17, this discussion is closed for the time being. I see a lot of back & forth that is more about picking at posts rather than a debate on the topic posed by the OP.
