Man to Man

[Deleted User]checkingthings (deleted user)

After seeing some of the discussions going on, I started feeling self-conscious about my position and am starting to wonder if I'm the only one.

So I'm starting another poll. It seems so very similar to other recent polls and conversations. One difference in this one is that I'd like to exclude as few men as possible. Ideally I wouldn't exclude any.

If you are a man AND are not romantically or sexually attracted to men: are you willing to cuddle with another man?

Keep in mind that I'm using the broader term. An example: two of you are sitting watching TV and leaning on each other, slightly, shoulder to shoulder but not necessarily touching from shoulder to feet.

In other words, I am including anything within the "cuddling" term, from most minimal physical contact OR more.

  1. Are you willing?33 votes
    1. Yes
      39.39%
    2. No, never.
      54.55%
    3. Not now, but maybe I could warm up to it.

...If ever I make a poll restricted to a single segment of the CC population, I've got to remember to include a "I can't vote, so just show me the results" option.

Hmm. Since my three brothers have no problem sharing couches, chairs, and laps with one another, I suppose I could vote "Yes" for one of them. And then I could see the results. But I dunno. It seems like it might skew the data a bit, since they're not CC users. Guess I'll just log out—visitors can't vote, but they can look at the poll results without voting.

Hun @DarrenWalker. Thanks for the suggestion. I'm sorry I didn't think of it. Good point.

  • What's with all this man to man cuddling stuff on here lately? Geeez

  • Normally, no. At least not for me. But ask me if I'm "willing" and I start to think about someone having a tough time and for whom it might make a difference to. So never say never says me.

  • [Deleted User]CharlesTwisted (deleted user)

    Of course.

  • Let me make myself 1000% clear, NEVER!!! And y'all should stop this whole man with man thing questions!!!

Because of my current profession I am in long term contact, and the resulting conversations, with a sizable number of professional dancers, the majority being women.

Their fears about men tend to be pretty much the same, and honestly well founded.

Of course, “not all men” are overly aggressive, creepy, demanding, insistent, and/or abusive... but enough of them are to create the problems for everyone else.

When chatting with women, who often talk about the “Patriarchy”, “Old Boys Clubs”, “Locker Room Mentality”, and “Rape Culture”...

I point out something that it seems almost everyone misses: Men don’t trust men either.

In this recent rash of threads, that’s abundantly clear...

Rape culture, machismo, and toxic masculinity poison every relationship, not only the ones between men and women.

  • @Satuko Sorry Super Mario It won't happen again : )

  • Damn same here whats up with all this dude to dude cuddling

  • @checkingthings I love these polls and hope you’ll do this one next:

    Title: Alpha to Alpha

You’re on deck to bat and your teammate just hit a homer. He rounds the bases and makes his way to the dugout but will pass by you first. To show your appreciation, do you:

    1. Give a verbal “good job”
    2. Give him a high five
    3. Give him a chest bump
    4. Give a forearm bump
    5. Pat him on the tushy with an “adda boy”

This poll should give us the data we need to figure out whatever it is we’re trying to figure out. Thanks!

  • LOL Depends on the team. I played a lot and for me it was mostly 2 and 4. I never understood where the tush pat came from, I'd slap a back but my hands never went that low.

  • It's so interesting the people who take the time to comment, "never". It's almost aggressive. How unfortunate.

I wonder if y'all have sons if you'll refuse to cuddle them as well and pass on this plight to them. The fear of being looked at as less than for sharing space with another man.

@Sashamcgee It should go without saying that your own son doesn't count. But apparently not so now its been said.

    )

  • Alright. If the idea of cuddling other men bothers you, I get it. Some people keep pet snakes, but they creep me out. Different strokes, okay? But questioning OP’s right to pose the question is something you should look inside yourself to see why it bothers.
If you have cable TV or even a good OTA antenna, you probably have 70 to 100 Or more channels to choose from. Some you ignore, you don’t call the cable cable company and say that nobody should be airing Korean language cooking shows. You just tune into Fox News or something.

    Lay off.

  • Well said Mick.

  • Seems like this men on men cuddling topic is getting a bit old. Didnt someone just ask this question a few days ago ?

  • @melancholy Yes, literally the same exact question.

@mickcuddle Nobody has said anything rude to the OP. They’re just questioning why the same discussion topic with same poll on 2 consecutive days.

I’m just trying to understand what the OP is trying to figure out from all of this. I’m my opinion, people should have the right to pick and choose the type of person they cuddle with. Furthermore, their thought process on why they chose someone is nobody else’s business, nor should it even matter to anyone else.

  • [Deleted User]MacaronCuddles (deleted user)

    No. I only cuddle women.

  • If you don't give a clear and emphatic no in each thread this is brought up in, you are basically admitting you would hug another man. Could you even imagine?! /s

  • @oberon Have bees ever tried to pollenate your beard?

  • I did not have them in long enough to find out thankfully

  • So, I voted yes, casual "shoulder to shoulder" contact occurs between my friends and I without a problem.

However, I don't consider shoulder to shoulder while watching TV to be anywhere near the same thing as 'cuddling' in the sense I believe most people take the term.

Cuddling in my view constitutes a much more intimate, not sexual, set of positions. Laying horizontally next to each other, 'snuggled' vertically on the couch.

Thus, yes I am shoulder to shoulder with men sometimes, but no, I'm not currently considering 'cuddling' with other men as I would usually define the term. The "or more" is a no.

  • Yes. I recieved most of my physical attention from my father. I hugged all the guys at my schools that I thought could handle it which in the 60's, early 70's was like everyone of them. I also have a network of guys I see in public that give full body hugs.

  • @PeopleLikeUs +1 For fathers who love their sons and aren't afraid to show it physically.

I'm new here but I don't get what the big deal is. This is a cuddle site right?

Touching another guy isn't gonna turn you gay. Sexuality is not a choice, if your really afraid of being outed for brushing up against some dude then maybe your the one with the problem that needs addressing.

Seems like a lot of the other guys here are actually interested in more than platonic interactions and are trying to be sneaky about it.

    idk, idgaf

  • It seems like the web site forums have turned into a place where men are expected to be platonically gay with other men, or at least think the idea of two men having a platonic gay cuddle is wonderful.

  • edited August 2019

But, uh... being gay is a sexual orientation. How is it gay if there's no sex involved @boomerang86? Platonically gay isn't a thing. If I snuggle with a woman, it doesn't make me a platonic lesbian.

  • @emphaticrates Hmmm, interesting. Sounds like you are trying to tell guys who don't choose to cuddle other guys that they should do it anyway because you say so. Ok.....you don't get it. But here's the thing. You don't have to. All you have to get is what you do or don't choose to do. Idk, sounds like you DO gaf : )
