Feel free to add what has helped you in becoming a better version of yourself. The more knowledge we exchange, the more we guide each other: the more knowledgeable, and guided we'll be.
I have been working more on my self-care, and development lately.
I aspire to become a more intelligent, and confident woman. Most of all, to become more at peace with myself. What do you aspire to become?
In this journey, I've been learning a few or so things:
I seek to improve my inter/intra-personal skills. Which led me to discover a few what I think are gems, useful skills. One of those I've already started doing on my own a few years ago. Though, it has been amazing finding the vocabulary to concisely express said method:
• Having a Growth Mindset.
That mindset has taken me from falling into darkness. Instead into light. It showed me that I am NOT the problem. That my environment is the one in need of remodeling, that I simply need time, and the right tools to succeed. Which led me to become a more hopeful, and capable person.
• Rewriting my inner dialogue.
The latter has been something I recently became aware of, and I am still learning about. Along with how to adopt that technique into my life. I can certainly see it's potential! It's for example going from:
"I barely have my life together, this or that about me is unattractive. Nobody wants to be friends or whatnot with someone like me. Someone in this situation."
To:
"I am innovative, and caring. However slow I am developing, I am moving closer to my goals each day I put in the work. I will work on accepting the parts of me that I am not that fond of. These lists of things are lovable about me. However slow, however much I may fail: I will remain hopeful that I can connect with others. I am worth it, and I am lovable! Most of all I matter, and deserve to be my own best friend."
Rewriting Our Inner Dialogue: is important because it not only has the potential to put us in dark places. Though, it's said that others around us can sense, as well. When you think of yourself in a good light, and strive to develop a better mindset, it shows: through your eyes, perhaps even voice, and how you carry yourself. Which in turn has the potential to make you more attractive, inviting, and successful in a plethora areas of life.
The way I think of it is that, when we have a negative dialogue going on, it might not necessarily... in fact, it might not convey to others that this is what is happening. However, others could interpret it as you thinking of them in a bad light. Which I doubt is a recipe for success.
When it does convey that it's about you, not them: perhaps through the way you speak/of yourself. Then, I think it still doesn't do you much good. Especially, when that is coming from a place of feeling defeated (?). I think that most people want to help those who are willing to help themselves. As well as those who can add value to their life. Which I think we one way or another have the power/potential to do. Even if that help is a little a day, and gradually getting better at it. Or what YOU might think is "a little" though, it might have a wonderful impact in the life of others. Along with yours.
Speaking of being my own best friend, the next step is to: Be your own best friend.
The other point which I am relatively new to and don't have the vocabulary to sum up is:
To say more of what we want. Rather than what we don't want. For example, go from saying: "I don't want liars. I am tired of always attracting liars!"
To: "I want to connect with honest people. I need a break now, and I am hopeful that I will connect with honest people."
I think that goes into "The Law of Attraction". It is said that what we focus more on we attract. Which might have some truth to!
I don't expect perfection from y'all nor from myself. However, I strive to become a better me, and doing what I can to help others become a better version of themselves. As I think we should all strive to do.
