Age preference

Since you have to be 18 or older to use this site, can we possibly change the age preference to 18 and up? It’s kind of creeping me out seeing some people with age preferences being 12 or 16. Just feels wrong and considering the site only allows 18+, you can’t cuddle with anyone less than that anyways.

    Wow. You are right! Similar one happened awhile back in which someone messaged me basically, asking if I'd make an exception since they were in their 40 - 50s. Edit: which was outside my range. end of edit. Then when I said no. They changed their age to some outrageous number.

    Though they were dealt with. So, I think both need to be tackled. 🙂

    Yup, I’ve been reporting them just to see if it’s an actual thing worth reporting. I’ve already come across 3 or 4 that say preference is 16. And one the said 12. Just a little wrong to me lol

    It just seems weird for a site that has an age restriction to not have an age preference limit 😐 I’ve posted mark in the thread so I’m sure he will see it soon. Keep an eye out.

    Lol. Guys. If someone wants to cuddle a 12 year old, let them put it on their profile. It's a free creep detector. I'd rather know that information before deciding to chat with them.

    I’ve seen it on some women as well. I think some people just don’t know and it might deter people from reaching out to them, which would suck for them. It’s best to make it well known and have it fixed just like how it’s well known that it’s a platonic site. We get creepers no matter what, so let’s nip this in the bud because it could creep out others just freshly coming on the site and thinking the site is disgusting for allowing it.

    When I see someone who looks really young and has preferred range of say 16 to 19 or something , i assume they themselves might be a minor and giving a false age when they sign up .

    Yeah, I think that needs fixing...
    Trying to lighten the topic a bit, how did you set your age preference? Anything you kept in mind before setting it? I did what I do with dating sites, think of an age range I'm comfortable with, and then add a few years both up and down, because I wouldn't want to miss out on someone just because I'm strict with the age range. Except for with cuddle comfort, I doubled the extra years. I wouldn't want to pass up on someone else that just really needed that cuddle from me either.

    Its just a text field that accepts any number. You can put age range of 900 to 1000 if you prefer older cuddlers

    I've thought about fixing this in the past but I'm hesitant - it's helped identify plenty of underage members who we then ban.

    Surely there are not people on this site over the age of 18 with a preference listed for people younger then them, right, @Mark ?

    I am more concerned about how this looks from the outside. I have already seen negative publicity on cuddles sites (there is even a thread based on an article), and letting an eager beaver journalist get a hold of people listing below 18 yo as a preference is only going to add fuel to the fire. The intent does not matter once a story is spun and thrown out to the public where there are people already skeptical about cuddling. It is your website but I think you are playing with fire on this one.

    I never realized that or noticed it on anyone else’s profile. I’m not sure how you enter an age preference so i better check mine to see what i have on there. I hope it’s not showing 8 - 80....

    Yeah ~ I have no idea. I used to think my preference would be older, but turns out I've naturally clicked with those up to 15 years younger, and they've all seemed more mature &/or down to earth/rational than I am.
    So... An age preference? 🤷‍♀️ Not anymore.

    Hmmm I'm not concerned with how much above my age a cuddle buddy is, I mean for real how can you top grand parent level hugs?

    As for below my age, I get really iffy about any one under 26. My think meat just doesn't sit well with the idea of snuggling people younger than my own spawnlings.

    The boundry pushing daddy issue set may have contributed to this over the years.... Shudder

    I have noticed the age preference .
    This could be a problem here for me as I am 56 . It cuts the available cuddlers
    IMO not a good sign
