Skin-to-skin contact IS important, and anyone who dismisses you as a creep for bringing it up without any inappropriate comments sounds too judgmental to be worth any more of your time.
I think it should be based on the cuddlers and what they prefer. Some people dislike skin contact. Some are comfortable with arm contact, but not leg contact. Some people don't want any skin around their neck or shoulders exposed. Everyone has their own preferences, and it's important that everyone be happy.
My preferred cuddling attire for my own personal cuddling would be a tank top and shorts, all cotton. Skin-to-skin calms me immensely while the cotton keeps me cool and not sweaty.
Rubber gloves?

I would say maybe start by asking to holding hands, then asking if they would like any other skin to skin contact like touching feet. hugging and rubbing cheeks together (I do that with my friends it's funny, platonic, and comforting.) Just reassure your respect to their boundaries and platonic wants and needs.
As for what to wear. Something comfortable or just animal onesies
I wear a body condom for protection while cuddling. As a result, I am cooties free.

My body generates much heat (which is great for those whom I cuddle - I have been called the human heater by a few). But as a result, I need clothes that breathe and are absorbant. (TMI? It's late for me.) So loose light cotton or wick-away type clothing like Under Armour is great for me.

I have totally forgot about this discussion and am now just reading it. (I had to go back to grade school and re-learn the whole “reading” thing again....all I remember is that “-and sometimes Y” is a tricky one.

I like to wear pyjamas, gym kit with yoga pants or shorts, usually in silk or cotton, as my skin can be quite sensitive. For cuddlers misunderstanding the term “platonic”, they’ll be happy to discover I’m completely naked under my clothes. 😜

There was a post I came across of a really cool nice lady who said she preferred to be attracted to the guy she is to cuddle with ... I completely agree with her I would like the same but the way I view it is as a bonus , not necessary... she put up the messages of a guy who really wanted to cuddle with her & would not want to share his pics , but she was completely honest with him, this infuriated him & he called her shallow / vain / & soo many other things under the sun ... everybody on the comment section was on her side (guys & females included) but I’m willing to bet that if I make a post similar to hers or any other guys for that matter with the subject heading exactly the same as her we would be shamed unfortunately (by both females & males)
For the record attraction is not a significant to me for cuddling ... other things are such as how she comes off in her about me & details.
