I think I’m done welcoming.

  • @ubergigglefritz I agree and I fully admit when I reach out to a pro the 1st message isn't a work of Shakespeare. It's usually some sort of opening question that isn't answered in the bio. I only offer up minimal info about me until I know I'm interested in booking them and vice versa. Yes there are a lot of unresponsive pros on here.

    @BashfulLoner says:

    i don't believe cordial response is unrealistic or aggressive.

    So what you're expecting isn't something more than "a thank you and that's it"? I had the impression that you were getting cordial responses, but wanted "to start a connection," and thought maybe you were expecting "to much"—that is, more than just a polite thank you.

    ...my attempt to be welcoming isn't getting the result i desire, I'm thinking doing something different is in order.

    Very good, yes: based your experiences (and mine, too), it's looking like we shouldn't expect a simple welcome to get us more than a simple thanks. Expecting anything more than that is definitely unrealistic, and pushing for more would certainly be aggressive.

    It's a good thing you're not doing that... and it looks like your expectations have already changed. You don't expect a welcoming message to lead to a deep connection anymore, right?

    That seems very likely to cut down on frustration. Luck with your new approaches!
