My heart is shattered. One of the best people I've ever known and one of the best friends I've ever had passed away before midnight last night. Please keep his family, life partner, and son in your prayers.
I didn't know John long but he showed me what a true friend should be... unconditionally supportive, always glad to hear from you, and always down for a good selfie. 
I was blessed to know him and call him my friend. He will be missed and the world is better because he was here.
