Huh... @MissAdventurous Until now I didn't know what figs looked like when not packaged... And wouldn't have thought they'd grow in OR... I need to get out more... :-/
@quixotic_life - These are fresh and haven't been dried out yet, I was surprised, too, when I first picked one, it was unexpected. This was a mature tree in the neighborhood that a woman had advertised about coming and getting some --- Makes me want to try to make some starts from the seeds.

Working away at my fig newton project
I'm not sure if there's a proper name for it ; but I made scrambled egg with included chopped meat pieces, kinda like an omelette. Seemed to work OK.
Homemade swedish meatballs. They were so dannggggg good.
Couldn't find lingon berries but I did make a nice sauce with cranberries, which are in the same plant group.

Chicken taco night, I made a homemade enchilada sauce and cooked the chicken in it after a little pan fry 🥳
Tonight's menu: Swordfish with chard from my garden that has been fried up with garlic and bacon and topped with a small crumble of walnut and a tasty and flavorful squash medley.
