  • @AceCuddlerMike
Abe Lincoln is looking good for his age ; though he could probably do with a bit of sun, and a face covering. 😀

  • Nature and park suggestions:

    Devil's Tower in NE Wyoming,
    Glacier Nat'l Park in Montana,
    Crater Lake in Oregon,
    San Rafael Swell in Utah,
Capital Reef in Utah (use Torey or Escalante as "home base"),
Avenue of the Giants (redwoods) in California,
    Joshua Tree in California,
    Yosemite in California.

As always, check weather forecasts (especially in the San Rafael Swell area - a storm 15 miles away can create 50 feet of water and destruction in the slot canyons), and check for fire hazards and ongoing fires.

    Safe travels!

  • Bummer as the four corners monument was closed(as are all navajo parks) and we got to Grand Canyon late so spending the night here in AZ to spend more time here. Did cross paths with this beauty though

  • Thats a mountain elk and he was huge. I stopped and got out of the car and walked towards him until i was 80 ft from him. It was at that distance that he gave me his full attention so i stopped. So majestic

  • Didn't have a chance to talk about the Cowboy museum(OKC) but wow what a treat that was! And didn't expect the bonus art show but just happened to be that time of year. Such a cool place.

  • Earlier today.. Tia Sophia in Santa Fe, NM. Delicious and very nice owner

  • We're a day behind now since we stayed near the GC to see it today. South rim is open so the LV and Cali portions will be a day behind, then we'll get back on schedule by skipping Oregon. I want to see the western part of Canada one day so will include Washington and Oregon on that trip when the border is once again open.

  • @AceCuddlerMike ~ Booooo! To skipping Oregon! 😉

  • If you were making the pilgrimage down I'd have to skip something else : )

  • Lol! If my plans to work remotely wherever there was wifi hadn't been thwarted (by the requirement we be able to go in within an hour of being summoned) I for sure would have! I had all sorts of fun "teach during mini road trips" plans... sigh...

  • From the south rim

  • This is the last I knew but it seems like you were ahead of/behind schedule.... Did you get Thwarted by the early CO snow??? I’m so excited to hear about your travels.

  • I guess I'm a bit late to this in terms of suggestions, but if you have any free time while in WV, how about making a stop at Dorsey's Knob park and/or Cooper's Rock state park. Dorsey's Knob is in Morgantown, while Cooper's Rock is nearby.

  • @xunai thanks will keep them in mind for my solo trip to Morgantown. My friend has asked me to skip the WV part so he can unwind before returning to work. Since I'm retired, how can I refuse him : D

We just arrived in Craig, Co, a day behind schedule so going to skip the southern Co part (Colorado Springs) to get back on track. Tomorrow is Steamboat and then Denver after that

  • The smoke cleared out for you up here in the Front Range area. Have fun! Wave as you go by.

  • We’re sitting in the Ravens bar in Chicago watching the game. Only about 10-11 more hrs of driving to go 🙂

  • @AceCuddlerMike - have you thought about posting a start-to-finish map of your trip?

  • Ill do a narrative recap with pics but im not a graphic artist. Not sure what u mean by “map”. Almost in akron for our final overnight

  • @AceCuddlerMike
By putting each city into Google maps for directions and posting the map portion. But not the step by step part.

  • @cuddlybear998 guessing that means saving the map like an image(jpg, etc) so will try that but def not using my phone.

  • Easier just to post a map of the USA, on which is crossed out the few cities you didn't visit. 😊

  • edited September 2020

  • Pics coming maybe tonight.

  • Wow, just wow !

  • Maxed out on gmaps destinations so had to do two

  • @AceCuddlerMike amazing..... I’ve been trying to get folks to do that with me for some years now..... I get on the road by myself and just go.... but I haven’t went across country yet...... Maryland to Mississippi and back a different way.... stopping in all of the states along the way...... when you go to Tennessee, go caving .... they have beautiful caves ..... look them up, you will fall in love

  • @AceCuddlerMike
    Suggestions ; have a rest. 😀
