WARNING! PLEASE READ!

These events occurred very recently in Prince Georges County in Maryland near Washington, D.C. They may be isolated and they may have stopped. I know this occurred because this is what happened to my very sweet, lonely, overstressed friend who I had encouraged to find love on Cuddle Comfort. She was very nervous and hesitant about meeting a particular guy. I told her it would be good for her. I wish very much that I hadn’t. I’m putting out this warning because I don’t want this to happen to any of the sweet girls on here who just want to be held.

In the past four years, I've cuddled with seven different people I met on CC. I had 3 cuddling relationships that have lasted over a year and one that lasted months. I have loved every moment. Thank you Cuddle Comfort! A number of times over the years, however, I've been contacted by women who've asked me to text them. Most were legitimate, but some of those women then told me their rates. Rates for cuddling? or for something else? If I thought it was for something else, I reported them to CC. They are on the wrong website and CC is great about banning them quickly. In some jurisdictions, there are police whose job it is is to find and arrest prostitutes. Recently, in Prince Georges County in Maryland, some women on CC have been arrested. The tactics the police used were to lure them under the guise of cuddling and then, instead, insist they take a small amount money. “I'll feel bad if you don't take it.” Innocent women have been caught up in this. IF YOU TAKE MONEY, EVEN THOUGH YOU DIDN'T HAVE ANY PHYSICAL CONTACT WITH THE PERSON, NOT EVEN A HANDSHAKE, AND EVEN IF YOU INSISTED YOU WON'T HAVE SEX, YOU MIGHT GET ARRESTED IN Prince Georges County Maryland. The police there seem to be assuming that CC is a sex website when it is not.

TIPS: 1) NEVER TAKE MONEY DIRECTLY FROM A GUY YOU MET ON THIS OR ANY OTHER DATING SITE!!! NEVER! I WILL REPEAT, NEVER EVER EVER!!!!! 2) NEVER MEET WITH ANYONE WHO IS NOT WILLING TO SHOW YOU HIS PICTURE FIRST. IF YOU MEET HIM AND HE DOESN'T LOOK LIKE HIS PICTURE, LEAVE IMMEDIATELY! 3) IF YOU ARE GETTING WEIRD VIBES, EITHER LEAVE OR BE VERY CAREFUL! (I only say be very careful because there are a lot of very sweet but socially inept or nervous guys who also give off weird vibes.) This can happen on any dating site and this Prince Georges County may be the only one doing this. It is hard enough to find a friend these days without having to worry about this. Don't let that stop you from finding a cuddle buddy or, maybe, love. These incidents are exceedingly rare. There are a lot of wonderful people on CC and I hope you meet one. Just be careful.

The police realize they made at least one mistaken arrest. I hope that caused them to either stop or dramatically change their methods.

    Does the police have nothing better to do? Prostitution should be legalized anyway IMO. What two consenting adults does is nobody else's business.

    I agree with everything you wrote, Mike. No one needs to be hurt by stuff like this.

    I'm posting on a new account. There are reasons I don't want to disclose. I'm being cautious.

    OP, could you give a little more detail? I'll be honest, I'm skeptical. Partly because you don't actually seem to know much about cuddlecomfort. Your description of your cuddle history would be highly atypical for a man on this site. Seems more like what someone from outside this community might expect this site to be like than how it actually plays out for 99% of men. And you don't seem to be aware of the existence of pro cuddlers. You write "NEVER TAKE MONEY DIRECTLY FROM A GUY YOU MET ON THIS," but of course the large majority of women on this site openly do exactly that and to my knowledge never run into legal problems.

    But here's the main reason why I'm skeptical: this would be a completely insane police sting. Most men on this site can't even get nonpro women to reply to them, let alone actually cuddle. I've never actually cuddled a nonpro woman from here, but let's say that for any initial message from a man to a nonpro woman there's a 1% chance it will (eventually) result in her agreeing to cuddle. Based on my experience I think this is overly generous, but let's go with it. So the police are just undercover on this site messaging tons of nonpro women, and in the 1% of cases when they agree to cuddle, trying to offer her money so they can pin a prostitution charge on her? It just seems completely bonkers.

    There are tons of sites filled with actual prostitutes; why would the police not go after them? Moreover, even if they suspected CuddleComfort had prostitutes, why wouldn't they be suspicious of actual pros, who are at least charging money for something? Instead you claim they're messaging a woman who agreed to cuddle for free, offering her money, and then saying she's a prostitute? Makes zero sense.

    Not to mention the fact that, in your story, the woman didn't take money for sex, so she's not a prostitute. Period. End of story. I can't even imagine police making an arrest here. Plus, although I'm definitely not a legal expert, this seems a pretty clear example of entrapment. Insisting that she take money when she doesn't want to? Police can't coerce someone into committing a crime.

    Every detail of this seems fishy.

    Physical cuddlers could probably be arrested for breach of coronavirus restrictions.

    Are there any examples of this, which led to a criminal trial, which was reported in the press ( physical or online ) ?

    Have the police in Prince Georges County, Maryland made any formal response to this allegation of malpractice ? I suspect CC could get into trouble for publishing statements which are defamatory = cannot be proven.

    Can we have some input from any of the female CC members reported in the story ?

    If I leave a cash tip for a waitress / cab-driver / barber / hotel cleaner ; will the police also arrest them, on the grounds of suspected prostitution ?

    If this is a "secondary" account, set up in order to covertly report something to the community, why have you filled in enough details for people to contact you for cuddling ?

    You should leave everything blank, and say that the account was created only to make the report. If the data is accurate, your main account could be found by correlating facts ; and if it isn't, you are deceiving people.

    Yeah, the OP is completely fabricating a story for some reason. More interesting to me than the obviously made up story is the intention behind it. I wonder what OP is trying to accomplish here.

    @pmvines - I can't think of any logical reason why they would need to create a new account just to make posts like this. You're pretty much anonymous anyway other than the information you voluntarily share. Maybe his main account was banned, so he returned to troll.

    The OP might be a female non-pro, who feels the male : female ratio is so high that they can't find a male non-pro, and wants to discourage some of the competition. 😊

    It’s against the terms of the site to accept payment if you’re a non-pro anyway. If the cops were trying to pin fake prostitution charges on anyone, they’d target the pros who actually charge. It’s implausible that they could even get these charges to stick.

    its going to be a waste of time, resources, and taxpayer money for the police to do undercover on a cuddle site. For one it is a cuddle site , cuddling is not sex. They won't be able to prove "prostitution" in court, and if ever it is just a misdemeanor and a small fine. They are better off looking for parking violators ,to reach their revenue quota.

    I don’t know anything about police work but I would theorize that sting operations are complex to set up and difficult to get convictions on, particularly if you insist on people taking money who aren’t breaking the law to entrap them. So it would probably be counterproductive for them to use the approach OP described.
