@geoff1000 Your wrong on your tree analogy. If your neighbor has a tree by property line and some of the branches cross the fence. You have the legal right to trim those branches because they crossed the property line into your yard. You just have to check your local laws about it. If you can trim them. I guess the courteous thing to do is talk to your neighbor. If they can trim those branches that are coming into your yard.
@ cuddlybear998 I'm not wrong, you missed my point. I may have the legal right to trim the neighbour's overhanging tree ; but regardless, legal ownership of the trimmings, remains with the neighbour. If I don't return or at least offer what I trimmed off, that's theft.

You need to pick up the leaves, nuts, fruit, or twigs. That fall into your yard.Depending on what type of tree it is. It's your responsibility to clean them up. You don't make your neighbor to clean up your yard because its from there tree. Unless you pay them.
