When do you think concerts and other large gatherings will resume?

  • Unprotected sex is like a magic trick :
A baby appears, and the father disappears.

  • @Mike403 An unwanted baby is not bad. I have a brother that my parents adopted. It’s only bad to people who only think of themselves. What kind of f’d up thinking is that to say that an unwanted baby is bad? The baby did not do anything wrong to warrant that judgement.

  • @FunCartel - Not everybody wants or can take care of kids. It has nothing to do with being selfish.

  • A shower of rain can be good or bad ; it depends if you are fighting a forest fire, or enjoying a picnic.

A doctor has done a pregnancy test on a young woman.
"I've got some good news for you Mrs Smith."
    "It's Miss Smith, actually."
"Oh, then I've got some bad news."

In some countries / religions, single mothers are murdered for bringing shame on the family. That's quite a bad outcome by any measure.

  • @Mike403 You still don’t get what you wrote. That unwanted babies are bad. That statement is entirely selfish on so many levels. First the parties involved were definitely down for getting off, but the result of their hedonism is bad? The result is a human and you are passing judgment on the baby because it is an inconvenience. That is entirely selfish. Second, how can a newborn be bad? The newborn is not making ethical or moral decisions yet. But someone who says the baby is bad because it is unwanted is making one of those decisions and it says a lot about that person. It says they have an external locus of control and nothing is really their fault.

This is not a comment on a fetus but rather about a birthed baby. To say “Unwanted babies are bad” is a horrible statement no matter how you slice it. You may have been unwanted and unplanned at the time and your parents never told you. Does that make you bad?

  • @FunCartel - When I said that they can be infected with "babies" I meant pregnancy which can be unwanted. End of discussion. I'm done arguing with you.

  • @Mike403 you are dodging what you said by going to a different post. That says a lot.

  • Testing Advance:
A new inexpensive 15 min test with good accuracy & sensitivity has been approved. Right now for Drs offices, no need to send to lab, but may be available to public. If negative, gatherings, even snuggling may be possible if both/all are neg. However, that negativity could change quickly, so repeat testing just prior to an event or cuddling might be needed. But it offers great hope !!

  • But testing is not a vaccine or a cure. It can even provide a false sense of security.

  • @FunCartel - im still not understanding. The word in my mind meant "pregnancy" and I didnt see how it would be offensive to others.

  • @Mike403 Here is the initial post:

@geoff1000 - Being infected with something called "babies" is bad enough as it is.

  • @Mike403 Then here is your follow up after littermate questioned it:

    @littermate - lol. it's bad if it's unwanted

  • “Babies” as you put it, are the result of a completed pregnancy. Pregnancy is a period of gestation. Two different things.

  • I'm sorry. I have autism, so I may say something without understanding how others will perceive it. I think it would be best if I take a time-out from this site for awhile before I piss anyone else off. I apologize to everyone.

  • @FunCartel
Do you agree it is a bad outcome, if the mother and baby are then murdered ? The baby is not personally at fault, but it is the cause. If I carelessly bump into someone and fall over ; their presence in my path was bad, but the fault was mine.

This discussion sounds like the pedantry that cigarettes are not taxed, it is the cigarette purchasers who pay the tax ; or that mortar does not hold bricks together, it holds them very slightly apart. A pen does not run out of ink, the ink runs out of the pen.

  • @Mike403 no, you do not need to take time out. Just choose words carefully. You made a mistake is all. You meant pregnancy but used babies. Pregnancy does not raise an eyebrow, but babies elicits a strong response. This is why words are important. Everyone has made the mistake of a poor choice of words.

  • @geoff1000 The baby is not the cause—bumping uglies is.

  • Fyi ~ If anyone has a baby they don't want I'll gladly accept it!
    🤗🤗🤗 I ♡ babies ~ I'd also accept a raging toddler! So fun!!!

  • @quixotic_life
Car journeys with children were invented for secular people, so that they could understand the concept of eternity.

  • Until there is a vaccine and herd immunity it isn’t safe. I just know I won’t be going. And if they rush this vaccine through like Trump wants it to be, I won’t take it. I think Fall 2021 is when things will start looking somewhat normal. However I think wearing masks is going to be a thing that a lot of people just do voluntarily when in close proximity to others. Social distancing can stay a thing at some places 😂🤣.

  • Wait, how the hell did I miss the fact it went from a large gathering thread to pro life?

  • @radioeodeoboy
@FunCartel has an adopted brother, and I think he's concerned that some people are suggesting "not wanted" by the birth mother = "not wanted".

I'm told that the China one-child policy was enforced by termination up to the point of dilation, but once it was born, the state looked after it properly.

  • @radioeodeoboy ~ How about we merge them? I'll just load up all the babies I'm given and will take them to see a "_____ on Ice" concert!

@geoff1000 ~ Of all my road trips, the ones where I was the only "adult" with a mess of kids have been the best!

One of my favorites was a 2+ hour trek through the desert after sunset. For safety I covered the rear-view mirror and gave them all finger lights and control of the ipod - It was like a mini-rave on wheels and so much fun! The kids in my family are the best!!

  • Large gatherings will resume on Tuesday, November 3rd, around midnight.

  • @geoff1000 @radioeodeoboy Both of you completely missed the point. And a baby is already birthed. If we were talking about a fetus that might be a pro-life/pro-choice topic. Can’t believe the difference has to be explained.

That's awkward, that's when my local store is expecting the next delivery of toilet paper.
