It's strange that the election is over and COVID didn't magically go away like people said was gonna happen.
@Mike403 Mind you, I don't buy into the COVID conspiracy theories, but the election hasn't been decided yet. I believe the conspiracy nuts argument was that if Biden won, the virus would mysteriously disappear overnight since it was something concocted to make Donny look bad and get more votes for Biden. If (and hopefully when) Biden is declared the winner, you would have a valid argument..

I was talking to my mom who is a Republican. She voted for trump the first time and really regrets it . Even life long Republicans dont consider him to be one of them . Sad that he is their only choice. I actually dont have a huge issue with the basic tenets of Republicans and though I'm very liberal in some areas I am pretty moderate in others . I just dont want someone in there who is going to make us all go to hell any time soon

@spuds - My dad is one of the conspiracy theorists who refuses to take COVID seriously and believes it is a hoax to get Trump out of office.

At present, even Fox News has called Arizona, Wisconsin, and Michigan for Biden, making his chances of winning quite good. Trump will almost certainly win Alaska, with Nevada, Pennsylvania, Georgia, and North Carolina still to be determined. Biden needs to win only one of those states to win the election; Trump needs to win all four.

😬🤢🤮🤧🥴 <- Could be that I don't feel well due to the complete disappointment in this not being a landslide result (how we have that many people who are comfortable supporting one of the worst flesh bags in recorded history, is sickening)! It could also be that I ate too much candy - but I don't think so.

@quixotic_life I share your feeling of disgust and being let down by the sheer numbers that voted for President Cheetoh. While I'm glad that Biden will likely win this, it's still disheartening that so many people still support him despite him likely going down as the worst president in U.S. history by a landslide. I bet Richard Nixon is smiling from the grave from how good he looks compared to tRUMP.
I was pretty sure we wouldn't know who the winner is for at least a couple days, maybe a week or so (remember the 2000 election with the re-count and the hanging chads?). So I went to bed at my usual time last night.
It looks like we're still waiting for Nevada to finish counting, but it looks like Biden is far enough in the lead of electoral votes that Trump probably doesn't have a chance now.

lots of poor americans have been hoping for change from the sweet words of Trump but did their status ever change? Jobs are still being sent offshore and foreign workers are still coming in . Lots of companies in US are controlled now by foreigners and foreign workers are displacing American workers. Nothing has changed really. And it is quite surprising that 40% of americans still hoping Trump will save them, when Trump only cares about himself and family.
That's the same guy who scammed people out of 10's of thousands with Trump University.

@chocolatey775 What American jobs are foreigners taking over? The only jobs they are taking over are ones that most Americans don't want and won't take because they consider those jobs beneath them, such as laborers and service industry jobs.

@BooksnTeas, excellent points. I would only add to this the power of misinformation. So many people who refuse to think for themselves. They’d rather have their talking points spoon fed every day. I hear that liberals want to destroy this country, and take away your rights and money. Seriously? I love this country, that gave me the gift of citizenship. I just want to live and let live. So how to counter the misinformation? That’s what worries me. The purveyors of fear and hate tap into a powerful human instinct, and continue to refine their craft. And a thoughtfully worded counter argument goes nowhere.

I hope we can find a way out of it, but they are so deep in, and the profound violence of it is like a drug I think.. they would like more. @cualtzin, unfortunately I think that argument of getting spoon fed misinformation has been usurped, and so arguing it is like talking in circles... it becomes a Who's on First roller coaster. (Much like the argument that they are a cult... haven't they been told that liberals are a cult for Q or something?). I agree with you. And yes the people who benefit love a smoke and mirrors show. The most embarrassing thing is they way they speak about their minions in the board rooms. Why people insist on being that stupid is beyond me.. but I guess as long as they believe they can be better than someone else they'll bite anything.
People think that all democrats are destructive vandals who will destroy property if they don't get their own way just because they saw some of them on TV doing it. I know many democrats and they aren't like that. The election breeds hate.
