I'm not a Trump fan myself. I've heard some people are just voting for Trump because they don't like the democratic/left ideology - so a vote for Trump can just be a vote against the democratic candidate, rather than a vote for Trump. Personally, I think there have been some good 3rd-party candidates in the past few elections.
Recently I was discussing the election with someone who supports Trump, even though he isn't even from the US. I showed him a video of Trump mocking a disabled reporter from a while ago, and he still said that doesn't matter, because he would rather not see a democrat/leftist in office anywhere in the world.
At least Trump was nice enough to tell Kevin where the lobby is.
Oh wait. He said it's down the hall to the left. Kevin walked down the hall to the right and there was the lobby. He lied about that as well.
I never vote for a candidate. I'm always voting against one.
Biden
Perhaps the thread title should be updated
@pmvines ~ really?! is it safe to check the numbers/results?... with trepidation I'm off to see...
edited... Eeeeee!!! What a great way to start the weekend! Suck it haters!!!
I think Kanye will win it. Or maybe Mickey Mouse. I want to write in Mickey one of these times. I think he'd make a great president.
I just heard about 10 minutes ago, it's official - Joe Biden has won the elelction.
@pmvines You’re right. I’m leaning toward “What do you think it will take to get trump to leave?” Hopefully he realizes that the more he drags it out, it just magnifies the loss.
I may be cheating, but BIDEN!!! 🎉🥳🏆
Joe was just Biden his time before making an announcement speech.
@bekah_cuddles Not cheating, just fashionably late to the party.
According to Trump's Twitter post, he won. 🤣
@Mike403 Trump is a legend in his own mind.
@cualtzin In the coming months, Donny will show the nation and the world what a classless twit he is in not accepting defeat gracefully.
@FlyingToaster When the preliminary media coverage stated the race hadn’t been called, I continued to hold out hope for Libertarian candidate Jo Jorgensen. Today late AM Pacific Time I discovered the race has been called, and the winner is: the older of the two septuagenarians. I’m not happy in the slightest, but I do think my party is nominating better candidates. In 2016 Gary Johnson ruined it for himself by merely asking, “What is Aleppo?” His question was later revealed to be a geography gaffe, but not enough voters in key swing states forgave him for it even though that’s something most Americans probably didn’t know leading up to that moment 😓
Fortunately the 2020 Libertarian candidate never said anything that cost her so significantly. Normally, as a department lead supervising people, I avoid discussing politics at work. But in time for Election Day I mentioned Jorgensen’s name and partisanship so that those who were disgusted with the televised shouting match that constituted the debate would know there’s another option if they disliked both of the old parties’ candidates and/or felt discouraged from voting after seeing the debates. At least one member of my team told me he voted for Jorgensen because he was so disgusted with both Trump and Biden after seeing the debate.
No matter how many Libertarian losses I live to witness, I’ll be a good sport about it and not change my partisanship on my voter registration or elsewhere. I am a dues-paying, card-carrying member of the Libertarian Party of the United States. The more I learn about the party’s ideology, the more I feel it is the best fit for me. My family’s ideology and partisanship is Republican, which I stopped supporting in my early adulthood.
Do you think Trump will run again in 2024?
@Mike403 Sadly, if not him, Donny Jr. may make a run for it, IMHO.
Trump could be in prison before 2024 since he won't be immune anymore. He cheated on his taxes. Like Al Capone was done in by tax fraud I bet Trump will be too.
@Melancholy - I hear they're letting out non-violent criminals from prison due to COVID.
Biden has gone on record promising not to pardon Trump, but I'm still skeptical. That really defies a very long-standing tradition-
@hillbilly Tradition has pretty much been tossed out the window over the past four years, so who knows what will happen...............
My Facebook feed is full of pictures from people supporting Donald Trump. I'm about to start blocking people. I'm sick of seeing his face.
That was a closer election than I anticipated. I didn't expect Trump to win Ohio and Florida, or Biden to claim Georgia. The January senator races in Georgia should be interesting to watch, as that will determine who controls the Senate. I hope the Democrats can retake it, if for no other reason to remove Mitch the human turtle from his role as speaker.
@chocolatey775 The results have "played out" and it's time to cope with the results.
It's pretty obvious who the Qanons are in this thread.
Sad!
@Parad0x Moscow Mitch's facial expression is like he's always constipated.
@DrDeb Not as sad as having a sitting president that buys into Q-Anon and other conspiracy theories.
I'm starting to regret bumping this thread.
Not this guy
