Careful what you wish for, but here goes
GTFO (Get the F.ck Out) SHTF (S.it Hits The Fan) MGTOW (Men Going Their Own Way) - there are a large number of subgroups there, some more extreme than others, so if you aren't careful, you might stumble on some pretty extreme stuff on youtube (so just use common sense).
But, the gist of MGTOW is that Man should find happiness just in himself, pursuing his own dreams, without a marital lock-up of his assets/resources since the great majority of divorces wipe men out (my experience after 20 year marriage exactly, but at least I expected that, so I don't feel remorse about it - I'm just happy I had the balls to end it and got out - and it also serves as a great filter when dating - I do not waste my time on such women anymore). Plenty women will automatically get attracted to the men with resources anyway (not that any sane man should be happy about that, but that's a whole different subject outside of scope of this thread), so eventually, women will show up in his life.
SIMPing - I gotta run now, so can't explain in detail, but in short - it's basically a Man who hopes to win favours of a Woman by doing all kinds of stuff for her, that she wouldn't ask him to do otherwise. Basically - a "Nice Guy" who was bred to behave nicely even if it's abusive to him (and he doesn't have an ounce of self-respect). That's 100% societal.

Both "men go their own way" and "like a fish needs a bicycle" are reactions against the idea that a person needs a member of the traditionally opposite sex in their life in order to be complete. ...And I think they both have a tendency to miss the point.
Members of both these groups, in my experience, seem to forget that not needing a member of the opposite sex to be complete doesn't mean you don't need to improve at all.
Might just be my own personal prejudice, though. I mean, I'd like it if men going their own way bathed more! And washed their clothes! And mended them, or bought new ones when the old ones started wearing out! I think it'd be great if they shaved, trimmed their beards, cut and styled their hair. Not for women! For themselves—because why shouldn't they look fabulous?
I think men should be fabulous... for men.
@DarrenWalker - Contrary to popular belief, MGTOW is not a women-hating community. Most want a woman in their life, but believes that focusing on them is pointless because women are temporary and can leave at any time. So that community teaches to focus on their purpose and goals. For example, if a guy goes to school and focuses on becoming an engineer and his woman leaves him, he will still be an engineer. Nobody can take that away from him. It's supposed to help men not be depressed over a breakup.
@Mike403: You may note I never said MGTOW was a group of woman-haters. I just said I think men should take good care of themselves even when they're not trying to attract women—and I note that many men going their own way really don't seem to.
Same goes for the "like a fish needs a bicycle" types. So you don't need a man? Good for you! But maybe you should still have a wash once in a while. For you (and maybe for your girlfriends). You know?

Funny you should say that in response to me Because I grew my long hair and a beard in last 3-4 years. Not because of MGTOW, though. Not for women either! For myself. Imagine such a crazy concept!
Sure, every now and then, some woman has an audacity to ask me to shave my 3-4 years of growth. They usually remain speechless when I explain that if that is the reason for them to like me, that I am much better off leaving them and living freely alone
Women come and go. If somebody reveals their true side by requiring something like that, they're controlling and getting off it (e.g. nothing good will come out of it anyway). One would have to be truly desperate to settle for that .

Actually. you completely missed the point with MGTOW. Yes, there are some radical YT channels, but as with everything in life, just because some ar.ehole spews hatred doesn't mean he speaks for the whole movement. I've watched about a dozen different MGTOW YT channels over last year, and the single common denominator is simply this:
Work on improving yourself, and don't get married to prevent your assets being forcefully stolen from you in divorce.
Or, go get married, just don't b.tch about it.

Yes, I do - though I haven't had an adjustment by a hairdresser since March. So, while COVID is rampant, especially in our state, no trimming. There have been actual people in my village who honestly believed that COVID would disappear after elections, so they had parties last week and now more than half of region is sick
