For my mom to be completely healed physically, emotionally, and psychologically. Brain stroke leaving her in a quadriplegic state for 20 years.

  • You’re soo selfless @lovelyhugs , god bless you & your mom! A million prayers 🌌 ♥️ 😊

I'm a simple man. A classic Harley, the budget for an extensive roadtrip and someone to share the adventure with.

One out of three is a start though lol

  • @NightShift39 hope you get that classic Harley 🏍!!! 🍻

  • @introvme at this point my 83 heritage softtail qualifies, but I miss the 79 pan head. If I'd known I was going to be divorced a year later anyways I'da kept the bike instead ;)

  • To get out of the black hole of depression I’ve been in for the past 3 years.

I'm not a happy person. This isn't to say that I'm always dour, mind you. However, I don't think that happiness is worth striving for in any capacity.

Those thoughts don't derive from some "oh I'll never be happy" mindset, but from firmly believing that there's no ideal state to strive for—as an individual or as a species.

I take happiness when I can get it, because it's nice and it makes the horror of existence less profound—if only for a moment. To chase happiness, in my mind, would be to seek a means of dulling reality to such an extent that, in my desperation to achieve joy, I would be plunged into a writhing sea of bodies that endlessly calls out to be heard, to be seen, and to be appreciated.

That strikes me as unpleasant, because it denotes a tenuous grasp of how the universe functions. It falsely renders human wants and desires as monumental instead of ephemeral; as something strong instead of anemic. It says "My preferences and my individuality are forces to be reckoned with", when in fact our wills and biases mean nothing, and everybody is a nobody shaped by innumerable pressures, fabricated from that previously-mentioned mass of bodies—all naked, cold, shrieking, covered in placenta and the bone dust of an unfathomable number of births and deaths—that is ultimately alone in an indifferent universe.

A couch would be nice, though.

  • I would be the happiest person in the world if my parents would move to Oklahoma to be closer to my sister, her fam, and myself. They live eight hours away, and it would be absolutely the cat's meow to able to bug them and hug them at our leisure!

If everyone else in the world were totally and completely miserable, I think that'd pretty much guarantee me the place of Happiest Person In The World!

  • @UltimateChungus that was a really good read!

  • @AndyLondon I sympathize and I hope you find what you're looking for

  • Enough financial stability to live the life I want without having to be dependant/reliant on others.

  • Finding my future wife

  • Happiness is subjective with peaks and valleys and nothing ever lasts forever

  • You’re absolutely right @pmvines !! happiness is definitely subjective, different for everyone, & what someone may want today may not be the same tomorrow...

Looking over all the other responses, it seems like most people are interpreting this question as "what would make you, personally, the happiest it's possible for you, personally, to be?"

To that question, I'd say first that extreme happiness is, well, intense. And difficult to keep up for very long.

I'm a generally happy person. My mood's almost always at least mildly positive, and at all times I tend to feel pretty dang satisfied with life. But even I can't sustain pure happiness and delight for much longer than a few seconds. It's strong stuff!

And for me, many things trigger it. For instance, my books.

I don't have to pursue happiness, lucky me. What would make me the happiest it's possible for me to be? Why, lots of things! And a great number of them I already have. Something I don't already have? Hmm... enough bookcases. Getting all my books off the floor would be nice, I think.

  • I think I'd be happier if I didn't feel like I had to worry about losing my job/income due to a layoff or something (I am a software engineer, and sometimes companies let employees go due to re-organizations, internal drama, or for whatever other reason). But that might be into pipe dream territory..

There is a way out. I found it and so can you.
By reaching out to help others I found purpose and happiness.

  • Some people are happy and don’t know it. You have to want to be happy to be aware that you are happy. Sounds simple, but it’s the truth.

  • @FunCartel I see what you mean .... I also believe perception has to do a lot with it.

  • Peace, order, and healing for all.

That’s amazing @EGio ! your answer to this post made me want to see your profile & im soo glad I did.

  • Physical contact with someone.

  • An email from the Angel Gabriel or other suitable assistant Deity to say that in the past year
    a) everybody who needed a cuddle had one and
    b) nobody arranging or having a cuddle was assaulted or harassed.

@Katarnis, save up for a cuddle professional. Take your time, be fussy, and choose a good one. Talk to them a little first and if you're not happy, move along. A good pro will be understanding of your needs. You won't regret it.

Alternatively, read all the good advice around the forum including this post, and find yourself a cuddle buddy.

Either way, heed the advice of General Eisenhower:

We succeed only as we identify in life, or in war, or in anything else, a single overriding objective, and make all other considerations bend to that one objective.

    @CuddleDuncan so you want to be a cuddle prophet? =) =) =)
I would be very happy if I could control the value of Plancks constant, gravitational constant and speed of light .... uff! All the fun I would have! <3

  • @HUGGGGGG I most certainly do not, no. But I do want to live in a better slightly less shit world.

  • @CuddleDuncan of course I understand and i really appreciate your effort with new threads that help that

  • @HUGGGGGG sorry I should have added a smily or something to that post, it does read a bit serious!

Anyway, I want to change my answer. Not to the extra bit to yours, about Planck's constant and all, which would be amazing, but the next best thing.

I'd like to own the IP to the perfect cadence. :p
