what do the different account status messages mean? 1. deleted 2. paused 3. deactivated 4. banned
what are the differences? some of the accounts do become live again.

1 means they self deleted/left the site. 2 means they are not currently seeking cuddles. (hopefully the lucky people found what they sought) 3 means they are not currently active but may come back. 4 means they were kicked by Admin for being bad little boys/girls/others.

Not quite right...
2 means an admin has paused their account. For instance this is done to pros when they owe money to the site I think.

Deactivated also means you can't send private messages to them, but they can still visit and post in the forums
@FlyingToaster - When you deactivate, you are logged off and your account will automatic reactivate the next time you log in. You can't explore the site with an inactive account.
I had a session with someone who became banned right after our session. Red flag?
@Mike403 I thought I had seen a couple people here posting in the forums but when I tried to message them, it said I couldn't message them because their account was deactivated. Unless they kept deactivating before they left..

I have actually had the same thing happen a couple times . I had even started cuddling someone after they were banned lol and hung out fairly often for a while there. Sweet person and banned on a technicality that honestly I dont feel was all that bannable but I know pros are held to higher standards in some respects.
there is a fifth type: member is suspended. how is that different from banned or paused? why so many different varieties?
@bose_ashish - "paused" is user-initiated. "suspended" is moderator-initiated in which the account is reviewed for various reasons.
in that case suspended could lead to banned or reinstated. but i have seen suspended accounts remain in that state forever.
I guess I was wrong about "paused". It's not clear to me why both "paused" and "deactivated" exist then.
I had PM from a non-pro female and before I could reply, her account was "paused".
@bose_ashish - if a user has not responded or chosen not to resolve an issue, discrepancy, or appeal, they would remain suspended.

The problem with the terms is how general the words are. They should implement the term “sabbatical” if it is a user induced suspension of their account and “hiatus” when an account is suspended by admin due to correctable infractions, etc. Notice how each are suspended, but the user is taking a sabbatical while the other is putting the user on hiatus. Just a thought.
