Thank you for the many excellent ideas, comments and suggestions in this thread. I am going to collate them and produce .... something.
Meanwhile, more good ideas are always welcome.
I would also like to add that analysis paralysis plagues online cuddling/dating in general. In real life, we try to get along the people around us, and in the process we may come to enjoy their company. In an online environment, it is too easy to look past many profiles because there are so many others. Too many options seems to hurt both men and women. Maybe there should be a limit on how many new people an account can message? Or maybe limit the number of active conversations allowed, with active being defined by having sent a message within the past three days. Pros would be exempt from this.
Another suggestion, perhaps enthusiast's profile pictures should only be revealed after x number of messages? Though, this may end up being a time waster to those who highly value psychical appearance in a cuddle partner. Maybe this can be optional.
Hi, I am glad to see a lot of real positive dialogue and thought going on in this thread. I am a professional cuddler and a yogini. The questions and answers of intimacy and boundaries are super important and needed especially in this fledgling industry. I also believe in freedom of choice and self governing. I see a very western thought process of systematizing and sanitizing . We are working in the art of intimacy and affection. This is not something easily boxed. Art is fluid changing and has many styles. Safety respect and autonomy need to be addressed. We are consenting adults and I feel overzealous measures are not needed to create more rules regulations to police morality will not work. I do think open honest dialogue and the idea of making descriptions longer giving those who want true communication a chance to be weeded out from predictable predatory behavior is a good idea.
@AngelGoddess Brilliant. The first really good post on this thread! This type of thread has been done several times before in varying forms. They all devolve into a button for this, a parameter for that, etc. It shows a lack of understanding that predators will game the system always, and buttons and other engineered solutions are easily evaded if one is truly determined. People are fluid and people will flow through all artificial barriers eventually.
@sunnysideup I doubt there would be much benefit in limiting the number of people you can message, or the number of active conversations.. I wouldn't want to miss out on meeting good people and having nice cuddles. I also think it's good to see photos in profiles, at least to associate someone with their face.
I was just thinking, one thing that might be useful would perhaps be suggestions for conversation starters, ice breakers, and types of interesting information you could include in your profile - perhaps in a pinned thread or somewhere else easily visible. As far as stuff to include on a profile, I might not think of an idea until I see it in another profile, etc.. Things like that might help to break the awkwardness that can come from talking to and meeting new people.
Did the problems here get solved or did we just move on?
Would that it was that easy! No, they have not been solved. I am going to make another post soon, probably after the weekend. I just need to finish pulling together all the bits and pieces. We can then have a more focussed discussion on specific points.
This thread will remain open for new ideas and general comments.
LOL!!! Imagine if the answer were "yes." Yes, in two weeks these problems were solved.
@CuddleMeLater we wouldn't need to be told we would all be cuddled up and already know lol
But seriously - We probably have a ways to go before we solve these problems.
