But If a Pro starts a thread claiming that people are wrong to consider age as a factor when paying for cuddles, without any data to prove that this even happens, she should expect some pushback.
@Spock if you are referring to me, the OP, I don’t believe I ever said it was “wrong.” I said I felt age was an issue for ME. I do not have scientific data, but again, I have been directly told, by more than one person, they do not cuddle people “my age.”
Though threads sometimes go sideways, my intent was not to judge (again as stated in my OP) but open a conversation about the subject and ask others to share their experiences whether they mirrored mine or not.
Your age may not be as much as a hindrance as your market, competition, availability etc.
@Envie I agree. I didn’t say age was the only issue for me, just that it was one. Again, I feel that based on my experiences here and feedback from men here. Not saying it’s right or wrong. Just sayin. 🙂
Thanks @Spock.
And, if you're talking about the OP of this thread, read her post again. In my read, she does no wrongmaking. I
@SuperSnuggler2 Good Morning, lots of interesting responses to your post. I recognize a lot of what you mentioned earlier and agree. My personal views are open to cuddling people younger and older than me. However, obviously 🙄 there are many types of viewpoints and expectations, that may change depending on the personal cuddler. I value honesty as well, my age, pics and profile information are updated. I also attempt to be clear in communication with potential cuddle buddies and friends. Also I agree that society has many double standards, that work for and against many gender identities. Another constant that I found true while searching for online cuddling is, no matter what qualities you possess there are people that want to cuddle you no matter what and others who do not. I cope by focusing on the many that want to cuddled me instead. I have cuddled many people that my age range or other personal attributes about did not fit listed or implied criteria but we still had a good time. Enjoy the weekend everybody!
In some cases all that is availible is younger cuddlers .., I just did a 5 mi search in my area there’s no pro older than the OPs stated age if 45 altho 2 are 40
I’ve heard the opposite.. 2 pros in their mid 20’s mentioned to me they had bad cuddles with younger men which brings paragraph 3..
The same pros prefer men older than 35 bec of better behavior
For payment of services a photo is just that , a photo . If it at least resembles you it shouldn’t be problem, my DL shows a youthful image of me taken in 2012 , renewed in 2017 with out a new photo taken it expires on 2025. I’ve been showing it to the pharmacist, doctors office , etc . It’s accepted . I bet the website owners posted photo is over ten years old im not sure tho
Who wouldn't want to cuddle you @SuperManCuddles?
@littermate Awe! Thank you very much! ❤️Many people enjoy my company virtually, in person and or cuddles!😁🤗 Sadly in this world not everyone will be nice, want to be a friend or cuddle based on thier own personal preferences. I learned to not let it stop my pursuit of cuddling/friends and move on. The grass is much greener on the other side!!!! 😁
I believe OP is defending reasons to not count out an older person , not really expressing offense .
@Spock
Thanks for giving me the benefit of the doubt, but it does seem rather patronizing when you imply that wanting a Pro cuddler to be ‘pretty or young’ is somehow wrong.
I said or implied no such thing. In fact on my very first comment on this thread I stated exactly the opposite:
I do understand why some men prefer to cuddle younger women
You also said
I think the meaning of ‘prejudice’ is being stretched to the limit in this thread
And yet literally no one in this thread used that word prior to you saying that.
You seem to be stridently defending some men's preference for young or attractive women... but I don't really see anyone saying such a preference is bad or wrong. I do see people who have a problem with how that preference is expressed (like "younger women are better", which is basically what you said), or who are lamenting the fact that older cuddlers get less business. But that's different.
I guess this is another case of a lesson I've learned repeatedly but keep forgetting: a lot of people on the Internet have zero sense of nuance or subtlety. Every statement just gets lumped into one or two big boxes.
This is why if I say "$500 is a really high price for a cuddle, I don't think she'll get any clients" someone will perceive that as if I had said "Pro cuddlers are greedy whores who exploit men," because in their mind the only two boxes are "Pro cuddlers are holy saints" and "Pro cuddlers are greedy whores"; there is no other statement or point of view on the subject.
Or, in this thread, if someone says "It's a little sad that older pros get less business," someone will perceive that as if they had said, "Men who prefer younger women are evil bigots."
It really makes discussion tedious.
@xandriarain Having known you for some time, I know that you are a class act, and you transcend age. You are wise beyond your years. I think you need to see this in yourself and realize that you'll be fine as long as you keep being real.
Thank you @littermate and @pmvines for supporting my intent. I noted above, as well.
In some cases all that is available is younger cuddlers .., I just did a 5 mi search in my area there’s no pro older than the OPs stated age if 45 altho 2 are 40
@cuddlerforu24 I agree. It seems there are many more pros in their 20s than older pros. Why? One could speculate all day. Older women are married, have careers and don't need a side gig, are more settled, etc.
As an enthusiast, I also had not great cuddles with much younger me and older men. I don't think age has to do with your "cuddlability" but I suppose one of points was that some people DO think that, at least in my experience.
the only two boxes are "Pro cuddlers are holy saints" and "Pro cuddlers are greedy whores"
@cuddlemelater so spot on. But, hmmm, am I a saint or a whore??!?!?! LOL @pmvines want to weigh in??
Saintly whore? Whorely saint?
@CuddleMeLater thanks for the laugh.
@SuperSnuggler2 that is correct I agree when you say an older pro cuddler is married , has that support base ( spouse), has career etc , does she really need the money ? No ? Look at the younger pro cuddler ... right out of school , school loan , car payment , bearing all these expenses by herself , along comes a pro cuddling client and thinks who needs the money more ? So he opens up his wallet for the one who needs the money the most , for this noble thought he may be though of as valuing youth more than age by some
Age should not matter if we fully understand what consensual platonic cuddling is about. Do I and my cuddling partner's personalities match up together, coincide? Are we able to communicate our boundaries freely to one another, and most importantly, do we feel totally safe and secure together? Consensual platonic cuddling is about getting our platonic touch needs met, nothing more, nothing less. to face and tackle this life head-on.
@cuddlerforu24 my point was addressing why women may or may not choose to be a pro and how stage of life may effect that choice.
But do we really know? Those are just suppositions.
What if the older woman is a widow who lived her life as a mom and wife and now has no income or marketable skills other than providing comfort and love? What if she is divorced and lost her job and is trying to make ends meet because, being older, she’s having a harder time finding employment?
Those are just suppositions, as well, but it is erroneous to assume age also affects the need for income. For example, a young woman could have a small trust fund and not want/need to work a 9-5 job... (again, just an example).
PS, Actually example 2 above is not a supposition but my story. And though cuddling certainly does not pay my bills, the few clients I had early on after becoming a pro helped after I lost my job. And though I am still unemployed, I’ve not had a client since October bec it’s not all about the money for me. For example I’ve been choosier about clients bec of COVID and having very catastrophic only abysmal coverage medical insurance.
@CuddleMeLater
a lot of people on the Internet have zero sense of nuance or subtlety.
Very true.
@SuperSnuggler2
Ok ,
Send me a pro cuddler widow and I’ll open up my wallet . , qualified pros only , Widow , no marketable skill , any age , etc
Have a great day
It appears that many people have been offended by my initial post, despite my many attempts to explain myself. I never said that younger/prettier was better - I only offered those as examples of preferences, because the OP herself mentioned age. Please note that no one mentioned my other examples (such as cuddlier, more mature, etc.) because it did not fit their narrative.
My position that all preferences are equal, and that we should not judge anybody for their preference, especially when they are paying for it, does not seem to resonate with most posters in this thread. That’s OK.
The main defense has been that the OP and others are just expressing their thoughts, and that they don't mean anything by it. If the OP did not mean to complain, or blame anyone, then the only people who should respond her post are the ones who can sympathize with and comfort her. That makes this a more of a support thread than a discussion thread. Live and learn, I guess.
I my only request would be for the thread starters to make this clear, so that new members don’t get sucked into this never-ending discussion.
@Spock people have said they disagree with some of the things you have said . Not agreeing with you does not equal being offended. You might see yourself as being in the right but that doesnt mean people will agree with you . You are the one making a fuss over it . I dont really see anybody turning against you . It seems like your biggest issue is that you dont feel like the conversation is going the direction you would like it to go . It is dismissive to say that people who disagree with you only do so because they are easily offended, or that they are simply being sympathetic to the OP
I have no experience, at least not on CC, but by and large most of the people I've cuddled with were relationships I was in, and every relationship I've had has been with a woman who was older than me, anywhere from just a few years, to a couple of decades.
My last cuddle was with my cousin, about a year and a half ago. Just on the couch watching something or other on tv. She's only slightly younger than me.
I wouldn't have a problem with dating younger or older than myself.
@pmvines Thanks for the response. Perhaps I just need to take a break until I better understand the tone and etiquette on these forums. I’ll do better next time.
@cuddlerforu24 haha! You're on your own buddy. I can't be your cuddle pimp. lol
Curiously, what do you deem a "qualified" pro cuddler?
The main defense has been that the OP and others are just expressing their thoughts, and that they don't mean anything by it. If the OP did not mean to complain, or blame anyone, then the only people who should respond her post are the ones who can sympathize with and comfort her.
@Spock I have had no issue, as the OP, with any of your comments, I started the thread with the intent for it to be a discussion admittedly knowing there would be differences of opinion. I like a good debate/discussion as long as folks are respectful.
My only comment to you was to clarify my intent based on my personal experience. However, that does not mean I only wanted sympathy nor was it my intent to garner it. I openly invited, and welcome, other people's opinions and differing views/experiences. I feel everyone has been respectful and nothing has personally butt hurt me. lol
@SuperSnuggler2 Thanks for the clarification. I am glad I did not offend you.
Everybody hug. (I mean, that's why we're here, right? (ducking)) Peace.
(ducking)
@cuddles_ndream - Yes I'm sure because they specified their age preferences in their profile. These threads about age are always the same. Someone posts about age discrimination, then almost every response says it doesn't matter to them. The fact is many people have an upper age limit in their profile.
@UKGuy fair enough.
@UKGuy I feel it does matter to many more people than like to admit. I honestly find any honesty about it refreshing as long as it’s not steep in creepiness. lol
