While in Custer State Park in South Dakota, I was surprised to spot some mountain goats. I looked it up, and found that they aren’t native to the area. They were acquired by the park in 1924, but escaped from their pen. There are now more than 200 mountain goats in the area.
He’s soooooooooo cool!!!! Never knew this little guy existed!!! His tail is so vibrant!!! The pic doesn’t do the little guy justice! He’s also full of courage as I was right there when he came out from that gap there!
It's a Five-lined Skink. Per Wikipedia "The (American) five-lined skink (Plestiodon fasciatus) is a species of lizard in the family Scincidae. The species is endemic to North America. It is one of the most common lizards in the eastern U.S. and one of the seven native species of lizards in Canada."

How lovely! Beautiful photos, everyone! Here is a quiet patch of White Poppies I found by the old weathered cactus. ✨

An old oak tree outside St. Louis Cemetery #1 looking over Storyville, New Orleans
This pond sat so still in the warm light of the setting sun
@SweetiSammi 😍😍😍 so creepy yet so cool! I really wonder what secrets that tree is holding!
How was your trip, @SweetiSammi ?
@SnshineScarlett It looks like a twist of tormented souls.
Most recent 1 I took. We've had clear skies all week😊
Can you tell I love landscapes?
@JoyfulHeart trip was great ! @SnshineScarlett oh yes, between the cemetery and the prostitution block, I’m sure it’s got all the tales to tell.
@Gallowglass I hope those souls find their Way 🙏 @SweetiSammi ahh I remember passing the House of the Rising Sun!

@FunCartel ~ Gorgeous! And great job Finding Bruce!!
an interesting couple 🌵
Beautiful! Not to diminish it in any way, but my brain thought I saw it move. I think it would be funny to turn this into a gif with just one little cloud moving, ever-so-slightly, every-so-often. grin I can feel the breeze.

Photographed this lizard at a highway rest stop in Arizona.
Different lizard at same highway rest stop, I think this one is called a skink.
Unlike the rest of Illinois which is flat and covered with corn or soy bean fields, the rugged terrain in the Shawnee National Forest at the southern tip of the state, looks more like it belongs in West Virginia.
This is the only time I was ever able to shoot down on a soaring Turkey Vulture.
A pool at the base of some sand dunes. There were some tadpoles too, though I have no idea how the frogs made it to that isolated spot.
