@HarleyGirlKate For her motorcycle and wild hair. Today is my Mom birthday and she used dye her hair bright red and perm into oblivion. She loved Harley's, loved the great outdoors, hated worms, and had a very free spirit. Today as I visit her in the memory care home I will be remembering the feeling of holding on tight as we screamed across the desert (no sissy bar for me). Of her joy at pulling over and saying let's hike that. Of being there while she bossed around the Gypsy Jokers in Spokane. The feeling of knowing she loved me and loved her grandbabies more. She helped me in anyway she could until she couldn't, until she didn't remember how. Thank you Kate, I may be crying but the memories you brought up are pure joy.

On Tuesday, I made tiramisu with a friend. Today, we tried it. It's the best tiramisu I've ever had. Everyone else who tried it agreed. Technically including someone who's never had tiramisu before.

Was riding on the back of a Harley yesterday seeing the sights with a bunch of biker friends, and saw this bit of topiary from a vineyard we were passing by.
I have liked camels since I was a child and first heard that "ships of the desert" thing, so this made me smile. 🐪

Speculatius? another spelling in different language? make me smile. And they are so hard to find. I'm glad to know the Belgian ones are better. Aldi's (discount grocery store) has Speculaas at Christmas.

@Quiet_Cuddlez Yes the Winternacht cookies, that is what I was thinking of. I don't like Aldi that much. I like to go to our old-fashioned grocery with a hugh variety of apples, even when I am not buying any apples, lol. But I do like Aldi because they are the only one that has Edam cheese and they have what has become my fave yogurt - Greek Whole Milk Lime.
Today I smiled because a neighbor waved at me. My neighborhood is friendly, but still I like that. I smiled because the temp. got down to the high 80s with an overcast sky and I was able to go outside for a short while before dark. I smiled because Wilson County Motors did not take all afternoon to change the oil in my car. That was a treat, especially since I always have to stay there and wait.
I hope to smile tomorrow when I pick blueberries, but it will be so hot I don't know if I can, lol. I hope I can hold out to get enough berries to make the trip worthwhile.
@achetocuddle: I thought so too when we were riding by it. It was pretty funny trying to get the guy, whose bike I was riding on the back of, to stop and then getting ten other bikes to turn around.
I wanted to take a group photo in front of the thing and thought that it would of made a great picture--one of those photos in a hundred years where people would wonder why there is this rather rough-looking motorcycle club posing in front of a topiary camel, but alas, the consensus was for me to snap a quick picture because "everyone knows Katie has this weird thing about camels," and then ride on.
Oh well, at least I got a picture. 🙂
