Boston Trauma Conference in May 18-22!

Hey folks! I'm super excited to be attending the Boston Trauma Conference next month. Anyone else going?

I have not been in Boston since 2019 and cannot wait to get my cuddle on with some of my old clients. Yay!

if you're going to be in Boston and want to schedule a session, shoot me a message. Availability is limited to early morning (5am-7am) and evenings (6pm-9pm) as I'll be at the conference from 8am-5pm most days with the exception of Friday and Saturday.

Also, if you are a pro, and want to get together for breakfast Sunday, May 22nd, I am totally down with that. Would love to network and connect with fellow practitioners. Please message me!

  • I had no idea what that is. I googled it though. It appears from their website to be for mental health professionals.

  • @Syins Is not just for mental health professionals, but for any practitioner who works with trauma clients or people interested in trauma.

I attended last year virtually and met a trauma massage therapist and a trauma yoga instructor. I learned different approaches to helping people feel in their bodies when they cannot meditate, or using drawings to communicate needs. It was very interesting to say the least.

  • Moving this to Professional Cuddling.

I would definitely encourage pro cuddlers to become informed about working with clients who may be dealing with trauma. It’s obvious that a significant number of people who seek cuddling have been affected by trauma and see cuddling as a way to cope with it. Pro cuddlers don’t need to become counselors but it is useful to have a basic understanding. It can also be helpful in handling some clients who are difficult precisely because of past trauma.

I would love to visit Boston and attend the conference. I usually volunteer with CASA (court appointed special advocate-for children) and learning more than one approach would be great for this. But also I’ve found that a few of my previous cuddles have wanted to talk about things and I didn’t know how to respond. Maybe it will also help me as well.
