Communication. There are cuddlers who adjust payment based on hardships, circumstances, etc. If you have a skill, like being an electrician for example, ask if they need any electrical work done as barter.
But keep in mind that when you book a pro, they are automatically dinged for 15% so they spend money before you do.

I was going to say start a gofundme and write a very sad story. I've seen that work for people who need help with their vet bills. I know I could use it...my stupid dog keeps eating crap on the hill and the last vet bill was 5k. I'm still reeling over that
I just got news today that my border collie needs ACL surgery and it will be $4500. I guess her football career is over.
@Melancholy - I have pet insurance for my cat. $20 per month, $500 annual deductible, $7,000 annual limit. I don't know if it's the same price for dogs.
