@HumbleBaron Daxter and Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep were the best games. PSP FTW! @Charlie_Bear I remember not knowing why my parents got me a toy box for Christmas when I got my PS1. I hadn't heard of it and was like... what?!! My dad was pissed because he spent all night in line. Hahaha. I loved gaming since I fought the big kids to play the original Mario when I was 2. One of my earliest memories is them getting mad because I messed up their game. @tacpmurg I'm going to actually have to agree with you on overall sweep for the best. My MSI triton gets used more than the PS5 or Xbox S.

It was really hard choosing between the 4th, 5th and 6th generation for me. I ended up choosing generation fifth because there were so many fun adventure games to choose from and graphics were starting to improve better, I also like how there was a memory card to save the games rather than to sit in one sitting for most games in the past.

@HumbleBaron still one of, if not the best, GTA games. That one needs a sequel or at least a remake. Remasters are ok but they usually suck.
@stormydaycuddle - I got a PS Vita when it first came out. I still have it somewhere. I don't know why it wasn't more successful.
@Mike403 the game library for the vita kind of sucked you needed memory cards for it which wasn’t that big of a deal but for the casual gamers it was kind of a put off it was competing with the 3DS which was probably the biggest killer, and mobile gaming to an extent but overall from what I remember it didn’t have that much third-party support either it was a great system, technically speaking, but again, one of those that failed because of poor software.
I grew up on Atari 2600. I’ve played with that system the most. I have a PlayStation 4 but I’m not the greatest with it. When I play the most right now, is probably animal crossing on my Nintendo. For Atari, I used to love playing combat against somebody or adventure, where you would hunt the dragons and find the Secret room that could only be spread by word-of-mouth back then.

@chocobunny Omg I loved the NeoGeo arcades. The home console was priced so far outside of what I (or rather, my parents) could afford so I was limited to only being able to play at the arcade (as was the case for 99.99% of us I assume). That attract mode jingle gives me goosebumps every time I hear it. It’s so nostalgic.

7th gen. It got me back in to gaming after a 7 year break. Flat screen TVs also made this generation special, as I was also attracted back in by the much better TVs.
8th and 9th generation have lacked impact so far, as there are no interesting supporting technologies. I am also surprised by the lack of games for 9th gen, which I rate as one of the worst generations. Consoles literally became commodities to trade on 9th gen too. Awful. I am also disgusted by Microsoft fragmenting the games market, by buying up good games companies. 9th gen is so bad.
My answer will always be current and PC.
Don't get me wrong, the N64 really fueled my passion for video games, but that controller is wonky and a PC offers so much more.
