Whats your Experience with Psychics?? Accuracy Results?

edited February 2023 in General

Has anyone seen a PSYCHIC and what was your accuracy results or ratings from them?

For me they were about 90perecent correct

They knew about my stomach issues

Granted anyone could just guess you have stomach issues since it's a common issue among Americans but still kind of specific out of all the other body parts that could have been having issues

They knew I had a friend in different state and a specific city
out if all 50 states they guess correct a specific state my friend had moved to I didn't offer hints they just came.out and said you had a friend that moved to state X and later in the session they guess I had a friend that moved to a specific city.

This isn't 100percent convincing as many people have friends in multiple cities

they guess my marriage was falling apart but that I would get back together

This is half true half false, me and wife did split and get back together but ultimately we broke up again for good a second time

ahe said I knew a guy name Kevin and he wqs important

At the time I told her I didn't know a guy name Kevin. She made zero response or facial expression and just continued. A day later I remembered I had an interview with a guy name Kevin that I missed. I called him back I got the job but they let me go in the first week because I missed the initial interview said I didn't take the job seriously

Probably the most interesting prediction by the Pyschic

  • It's called 'cold reading'. It's a skill anybody can learn, though of course some people are better than others.

All psychics are frauds in the sense that they are not actually psychic. However, that doesn't necessarily mean they aren't providing a valuable social service. And the skill of the best ones is absolutely breathtaking.

Exactly as qualified to predict as rodents are to determine who much winter is left to us. As preciously mentioned, cold reading is the skill here, not powers.

There’s a good collection of research here, including on why people believe in psychics.

  • Nope and Santa isnt real either

  • @pmvines wait, what? Then how did those presents get under the tree that clearly said they were from Santa in my parents handwriting…

  • I’ve never been to a psychic but I have met a pro on here who is so incredibly perceptive and talented at reading body language / micro expressions and “listening between the words” that she borders on mind reading. I have never met anyone like her with the ability to pick up on the subtlest of clues, to read someone’s intentions.

She uses her ability in her screening process as she requires a video chat before booking a session.

  • @JohnR1972 I've also met people like that. I presume that the most convincing psychics are people of that kind who have also done a lot of learning.

With the right combination of talent and skill a skilled practitioner can tell an astonishing amount about somebody, and that's even before you get to the statistical and psychological tricks.

I met somebody new the other day. It later came out that they spotted I had depression as I walked towards them before we ever spoke in person. 'It was in the walk' she said, which it is. You just have to be astute enough to spot it.

@FutureHeart2023 you may be sad or annoyed that your thread is not going quite the way you hoped. (Spoiler alert: they never do.) But this forum, for all its faults, is a caring place. The experience with the psychic seems to me to have been an important one for you, and that means it was a worthwhile experience which deserves to be understood. What need did the psychic fulfil for you? Don't feel obliged to answer that here unless you want to, it's more something to think about.

  • Thanks for the feedback guys yes ive heard about cold reads so i attempted a pyschic by phone which oddly she agreed to since i thought that would eliminate her rewding ability. Cold reads is kinda hard to do over the phone since they have no face of body language to go from. But they can by voice I suppose she still did a pretty good job. Especially with non emotional things that had nothing to do with my voice like knowing I had an interview from a guy name Kevin lol.

But I agree somehow these people have some highly attuned skills

    @CuddleDuncan
Appreciate that 😉 nah I stopped expecting any certain responses back when I told my wife reveal story..this place has a mind of its own. And that's the beauty of it I suppose feedback and perspective from all angles is how we all learn and grow as a species.

  • @everyone I think you're forgetting psychic can mean a lot of things to a lot of people. Scammers etc happen but we have a pretty big group of pagans, Wiccans and various others active on the forum. Probably keep them in mind as the comments come in.

  • Good point @stormydaycuddle even a regular magician can seem like a pyschic lol as I have done tricks before that required me to read and pick up on things in person while doing the trick

  • My experiences have been abysmal. The reading is given and the advice strongly recommends a substantial amount of money is to be handed over to the psychic for removing a curse.I believe that every individual has their own psychic ability.

  • Like only twice in my life and both times were extraordinary. We know more about mysticism than we do dark matter. I suspect when dark matter is better understood that a lot about what we know about mysticism will get validated.

  • I can see that all of you will die.

    Eventually.

  • Well, my uncle had a fortune teller at a couple of his super bowl parties many years ago. She said I would marry someone I already knew (I was 12 then). I ended up getting married and separating from someone in my early 20s, but I didn't meet him until I was 19. My current partner I have been with for over three years and plan to stay with I technically met when I was 14, but we didn't go on our first date until I was 24. She also said I would have four children, all boys, and I would have my first at 24. I am currently 28 and child-free. Another time a psychic was hired for a Halloween party I had in middle school (I think it was the same lady), and she told all the boys at the party that they would become professional athletes. As far as I know, none of them did ever end up becoming professional athletes, but I also don't stay in touch with that many people from middle school.

  • Psychics are great for entertainment. And while I'm not confident enough to say with 100% certainty that psychics don't actually have ESP or whatever, I am pretty sure that any genuine psychics are busy making shrewd stock market picks, and generally living with a low profile.

  • I was a barista at the time when I met a psychic. I remembered the psychic tried to upsell me for "research" for $200 and I had to follow a ritual or routine each day. Then when I went to her place, she wanted to upsell me for $600 for some sort of candle and I refused it. She then try to make me buy $200 for a blanket and something told me to challenge her. I asked her how will this help me with anything if you are the one collecting more money and I will keep losing more money? She tried to use fear on me saying how the "spirits" are angry and that I have to apologize. I felt extremely uncomfortable and only paid like 40 bucks the second time I met her and ran as fast as possible.

I trained to become a psychic but gave it up. I couldn't see any future in it.

  • ESP,channeling, energy, it's all connected.

  • The book on cold reading is amazing. I forgot the author's name but I heard him on a center for inquiry interview. What's crazy is it starts off as a parlor trick, like magic tricks (ILLUSION), but then a lot of cold readers start believing they actually have these powers

  • Damn, I figured there would be a bit more believers on this forum.

Do I think miss Cleo will really be able to predict my future for 2.99 a minute? No.

Have I ever met someone with some sort of intuition that gave me the right advice, or warned me about a bad situation? Yes.

I'm probably the biggest skeptic you will meet, but there is some shit out here I can't explain.

  • The supernatural world doesn't exist. It's only the natural world. Psychics are all smoke and mirrors and humans can train themselves to read body language.

Also, they can be wrong in some of their predictions, but we tend to only remember the times they were right.

some lie but some are very accurate when they are actually spiritually gifted. i read cards myself and rely on them a lot. i also get psychic visions via my dreams. one dream came true last december to the tune of a 5 figure check 😛😊

  • I predicted I would be bumping this thread.

  • I almost had a psychic girlfriend, but she left me before we met.
