What do you watch to fall asleep?

edited October 2023 in General

So shutting off all the lights and having zero distractions before falling asleep rarely works for me, so I usually watch something on my phone to drift off to sleep…that is until I drop my phone on my face as I get drowsy (😅😅😅)… but moving on from that, I was wondering what you watch if you too throw something on to fall asleep to.

For me, it’s usually a YouTube channel of restoration videos or videos of those survival types building a shelter or something out in the wilderness/jungle/etc (none of which has any talking in them).

  • Hilda. Idk why. I turn off the sound though and play a middle reader on audible because they are less stressful.

  • Bob's Burgers or Hunter x Hunter 🤘🏻

@Runawaycuddles Hunter x hunter is excellent.

For me it's ASMR or random youtube videos or netflix (right now going through one piece).

I also have not very good sleep

  • During really stressful times when I couldn’t turn my brain off, I would watch something in Spanish. Then, when my eyes start closing, just listen to it. I don’t speak Spanish, but it was relaxing and put me right to sleep. Then I would just go back to where I left off.

I too fall asleep to the magic that is Bob's Burgers.

  • Unsolved Mysteries or Forensic Files

  • I used to fall asleep to Roman Empire documentaries, but now I'm using Audible. Currently halfway through Alas, Babylon - amazing book, highly recommended.

  • @sunnysideup Isn't it??

@Jova114 Always glad to meet a fellow Bob Burg-ian 🤘🏻😂

ASMR videos pretty much every night

  • Usually same as Davidbiscuits01 or a movie. Foe say time naps, I'd recommend 'murder she wrote' or 'diagnosis murder' series. Both wholesome if you don't mind watching older series.

Ambient music played over various 3D weather maps. It's featured in dark screen mode.

Usually runs from midnight until about 4 or 5am.

Comedy clips from old movies help to fall asleep. YouTube shorts keeps me awake. I also avoid music and Just For Laughs Gags.
@CharlieBear If you figure out something that works for a wider audience, you could become a billionaire 💰

For YouTube videos, usually watch Sega lord X channel or other retro game channels, sometimes I watch coyote Peterson I like to see him get stung by different insects. I’ll occasionally watch a WWE or AEW highlight reel. Also, watch RC car videos usually the Tamiya brand. And then, of course, last, but not least my Music Videos. I don’t know if they necessarily help me fall asleep or not but it’s always what I watch before bedtime.
