Why do people lie about their age

edited August 2025 in General

Like its a cuddling site, no one is judging them by their age. Except me, when they obviously lie about it. Then I cant help but feel you are a super dishonest person right out the gate if you casually lie about the most basic of starting information.

Im not talking like "Hey I put 29 but im 30" but more the ones that are obviously in their 30s and put 20, or 40s and put 30.

Is this just normal? Are we all supposed to collectively feign ignorance?

  • @tacpmurg This is a topic where I do not even have a guess for why they lie about their age. As you said, it is a basic indisputable fact and usually your body, skin, stomach, and movements tell on you. So why lie? It is perplexing.

  • I think it’s because there’s a societal stigma against age gaps. Just guessing.

  • Maybe they’re self-conscious if they’re much older. But I’d be irritated, too, with such a discrepancy. I went on a semi-date with a guy who said he was in his 50s. Saw his license later…he was in his 70s. I was livid. Other things came out, too, which he had lied about. Suffice to say, I didn’t see him again.

Like I can kinda get the being self-conscious thing a bit, but dishonesty is such a huge thing to me.. if you are gonna lie about something so basic and verifiable, what else would you lie to me about?

Other things came out, too, which he had lied about.

    Exactly...

Yeah I know exactly what you mean and I totally agree. I had someone tell me one time that one of the Pros used a younger age to be able to fall into a different age range for more exposure. I couldn't understand it. For me, my age has not made a difference one bit. I still get hits from all ages. But unfortunately everyone's gonna do what they feel is right for them irregardless. 🫤

Sometimes I tell people I was born at 1034pm when I was really born at 729pm. That extra 3 hrs shaved off my age really makes me feel young.

I lie about the month and day. Not sure why.

  • The only answer is insecurity. most people pick and choose when they use white lies.... (We ALL do it from time to time) Some people use it for protecting their self image... Or what they think is protecting their self image. Like you said though, it's just projects dishonesty. I wish we all felt comfortable enough in our own skin but the truth is, most people don't. I just try to be cognizant of that and treat everyone like I would want to be treated. ✌️

  • I don’t lie about my age. But then again nobody believed me. :)

Maybe they will think it will help with enthusiasts, since a fair number of them have preferred age ranges. Futile hope, of course.

  • This happened to me yesterday...
Mentally I was like sir, this photo and age of 48 is outdated 10 or 15 years but that's ok. I'll hold ya 🤗

You don't got to lie Craig 😅
    Iykyk 😂

  • I (somehow) get accused of LOOKING 19 years old (I'm more than twice that age) a lot, so in the event I lied, it would be in efforts to avoid becoming annoyed by that. I've most definitely learned by now that age I-S just a number.

  • Growing up it was impolite to ask a women her age. Plus I heard of women who stay 29 forever.
Most likely it’s insecurity and society stigma about women and their age. As men grow older they become more distinguished. Women become more unemployable due to looks and age. Especially in Hollywood.

On the other hand guys are always trying to be 21 years before they are. lol.

It been a double edged sword as I grew up.

Now not so much. Especially since a lot of previously social stigmas are easing up.
Age gaps, age , mental health issues, open relationships and probably more I can’t think of since I got back from Knoxeville late and only slept 4 hours.

Hell even @pmvines admitted his true age.

  • Now based on my experiences here and elsewhere I have learned that the "market" tolerates and accepts (and even expects🤣) a 10% adjustment. Again, it's one of those things we dealing with here on CC that will only stop happening when pigs start flying.

I know pros who regularly perform age maintenance (yes they admit it with a giggle and I respond with a giggle) so at least a partial solution would be to Lock the age field for updates.

Bottom line , another First World Problem that needs to be dealt with urgently.

  • Urgently with accuracy and precision! 😂

People shrink in stature as they age, but Darwin had it wrong. We evolved from wine because as top wines age their price often skyrockets even though there is more ullage in the bottle (air at the top from evaporation). A 1945 bottle from France that sold for half a million dollars at an auction reportedly had enough wine to go mid-shoulder in the bottle due to evaporation. The wine was well-aged and is a treasured find for wine connoisseurs.

So I have pondered this and realized I am French on both sides, I have lost a half inch in height, I am well-aged, and I have much ullage. I am ready to be auctioned so I can retire comfortably.

And yes I am a dry white guy so I pair well with seafood.

  • I lie about the month and day. Not sure why.

This is one that makes complete sense and is just sensible self-preservation in the Information Age.

  • @Jubal I was thinking the same thing. My age is accurate but the date of the month has been changed to protect the innocent.

You know why. Ageism. It's as American as apple pie.

  • I'm 49 and the the goal is to at least 100 in tip top shape

  • I don't know why lie about much of anything... I'm 46 yrs old. There I said it! 😁

  • Because they don’t want to be judged based on a number. Many people think that no one should even ask for your age just like it’s not acceptable to ask about your weight. Or at least don’t make it mandatory. I think your pictures however should be recent and accurate and should reflect your approximate age. If there is no option to not give your age, then people are going to be tempted to lie about it. I don’t think the intention is usually to mislead but rather just to keep it to themselves. It used to be more common that people would simply not tell people their age.

  • Because they forget it at a certain point?

  • Women tend to do this, I've noticed on multiple platforms.

The reason is that society tends to devalue women once they get older, even if they are pretty and taking care of themselves. I think it's a primal thing, the idea that a woman's fertility decreases as she gets older.

  • @CuddleMeister00 it's a worldwide thing, not just American.

A lot of people who “don’t lie” about their age are speculating about the motives of the so-called “liars”. So, as one who unabashedly lies about my age here, let me say this. Just because you don’t judge, that doesn’t mean ageism isn’t a real concern for others. If it’s illegal for a potential employer to ask the question in a job interview, I don’t think it makes sense to force anyone to answer it here.

In my opinion, nobody really needs to know how old anyone else here is with specificity. And I hope more and more people will start lying about their age until Cuddle Comfort gives us the option to skip the question altogether or answer it in some general manner. (See “curvy” under body types).

    🙈

    PS Get off my lawn.

  • @MonkeyNeedsAHug lol great answer!

I wanted to be the oldest here but i recently saw a 110 year old.
It’s usually to discourage people in searches.

In my case I change it around to random numbers because my age is irrelevant since I’m not currently cuddling.
It’s also to discourage people from contacting me. I may change it to 100.
Pretty sure no one here cares about my age but I’ve posted it in the forum many times. (75).
My pictures are recent and unfiltered. I also look different depending on lighting.
I’m OLD very old, way too old to be cuddled. .

The dudes lie about their age because they think a much younger gal won’t meet with them otherwise.

Pros lie about their age because younger women are more physically desireable so they probably think they can get more clients

Lying about your age is manipulation and it’s not right

@MonkeyNeedsAHug since CC is platonic I agree age shouldn’t matter as long as it’s all adults

  • I personally believe in the practice of randomization when dealing strangers online. By that I mean, I want to retain some of my anonymity to the casual observer because I work in a field where I see how information is harvested and retained and even sometimes weaponized. Even if your age is off by a couple of years, it greatly reduces your social footprint and helps keep your information secure. You can't be too careful with what you share.

  • Agree with wilderdude on all counts

This is anything but limited to the US or males,

it is global and if anything men are in the minority
