When things go unexpectedly bad ?

edited July 2 in Pro Cuddling

I recently booked a session and we got along so beautifully I saw her again the next day. She was sweet , accommodating and very intelligent . She carried a conversation well.

  • @jefsmat that sounds incredibly difficult, and like it likely was a learning experience for you both.

A few thoughts/observations you might consider:

As close to a girlfriend as you can ever hope to get.

This is a very problematic view to have on platonic cuddling. A platonic cuddle partner, pro or not, is not a girlfriend replacement. Seeking cuddle partners with that as a goal is very likely to lead to a lot of problems: transference, codependency, unhealthy relationship patterns, etc. I would generally recommend viewing cuddle professionals as just that - professionals. You might be on friendly terms, but there is still a hard boundary due to the nature of the interaction. At most, perhaps viewing them as just platonic friends. If you wouldn't choose your friends based off of whether they are girlfriend material, it's probably best not to seek that in something that is intended to be 100% platonic.

I will admit we had been partying heavily and likely that was the biggest contributor.

This is also a potentially very problematic behavior to engage in in this community. Generally the use of alcohol and mind-altering substances is frowned upon, if not outright against the rules, due to it removing the possibility for fully informed consent. Yes, we're all adults, but it becomes a giant ethically gray mess if one or both cannot give consent to all activities that are occuring.

She was upset that I did not seem to support her on a few things she related to me that weighed heavily on her. Rather, I was critical and seemed to support the very things that she described to me.

To me, this sounds like you both accidentally discovered that you were incompatible despite any initial mutual chemistry. It might not feel like it right now when the feelings of rejection are strong, but it's likely the mismatch would have come up eventually, and it's better to discover it early on than later. At least this way you now both are free to seek more compatible cuddle partners.

Perhaps in future I will be a little more conservative with the partying and more careful with feelings related to me.

This sounds like sound self advice. It sounds like you already know what went wrong and why, just are still processing the feelings that came up due to the incident. While most here probably haven't experienced the same situation (again, partying is discouraged), most of us have experienced rejection, grief over the loss of a seemingly good match, and regret. You already have the building blocks for moving forward, it just will likely take time for the feelings to fade or resolve.

It might not hurt to do a thorough re-read of the site TOS, the FAQ, the Help Center articles, and the contracts for pros & clients. It may help you be better prepared for future interactions.

I wish you better luck, and better choices, with your future experiences 🫂

  • Thanks for responding so fully. Really appreciate the insights.

  • @jefsmat I am going to strongly recommend you edit your original post, and delete the location where you met that person. Some could look at that and make assumptions on who you met.

  • Will do so. Had not thought of that.

  • dude, @jefsmat - putting a personal attack like that in the forums, especially for someone who isn't even involved in this thread, is a giant red flag, and I'm guessing against the rules as well if you're messaging him here to avoid a block. You also edited your comment to take out the threats, but some of us still saw it. You're digging yourself further into a hole.

It might be a good idea to take a big break from the site and the forums so you can reflect on your behavior, both on site and off. It seems like there are some hard emotions that need to be dealt with so that you can interact with people here safely.

I would simply state that if any CuddleComfort member was perceived to have made an actual threat they would be
    immediately banned.

  • Tried edit to just erase it but it's still up.

  • Think its mostly removed.
