Pros reaching out first

Hey y'all! I'm new to this platform, and want to be a safe, trustworthy person. A lot of "marketing" yourself can involve messaging people directly, but on this website I'm thinking it might not be welcome for pros to "make the first move". What are your thoughts? Should pros message clients first?

    @TreasureHunted The answer to your question is an emphatic definitely not.

    Rule 26 of the Pro Cuddler Contract:

    1. You agree to not initiate communication with our members unless you have reason to believe they will be interested in your services. Our membership includes enthusiasts (free) and clients. The website is designed for clients to reach out to professional cuddlers.

    There are two rules for this platform re pro advertising which are the most important ones to know. These are the ones that site users are most likely to report when they are broken:

    1. Pros are not allowed to cold message users as potential clients (Rule 26, above). They may only message them after a user views the pro's profile first. Disgruntled users who don't want to hear from pros report this regularly. First time being reported results in being issued an advisory to remind the pro of the rules. Repeated infractions will result in timeouts, where the pro account is locked out of the site for a period of time.

    2. Pros are not allowed to advertise anywhere on the forums except for the Pro Ads section found under Cuddle Requests. Disgruntled users who get tired of seeing pros advertise in the General forum or elsewhere report this regularly. Same actions taken as above for repeated infractions.

    @BlueIris Thank you! The phrasing of rule 26 "unless you have reason to believe they will be interested in your services" tripped me up. I couldn't think of what those reasons may or may not be, so I wanted to ask more explicitly.

    Translated into normal English, that's the thing that means they have to have looked at your profile or messaged you first before you can contact them.

    You as an Enthusiast have to have viewed the profile of the Pro first or you have to have sent a message to the Pro first before a Pro can contact you. All the pronouns could make it confusing but @BlueIris sending the rules should clarify.

    I have this on my profile, letting pros know they are welcome to "cold call" me:

    "Pro or enthusiast, anyone is welcome to send me a message to connect. Especially love to hear from cuddlers who are (or who are planning to be) geographically nearby...."

    Technically, I realizes this probably doesn't eliminate rule 26 cited above. But I encourage unsolicited contact, and I would never report someone for it. Why? Because I'm not on CC every single day, searching to see who might be planning a visit to my area. But if someone is, and they look at potential clients and want to message me? I'd never want to discourage that.

    I'll never have a problem with a pro reaching out with a polite "Hey, I'm going to be in your area on these dates, please let me know if you'd be interested in meeting." That's encouraged.
