What a reasonable fee for professional cuddling. I saw some asking 150$/hr Is that cuddling?
$40/hr.
hides
Edit: Okay. To be serious, technically, $40 is the minimum required. But most seem to choose $80 since that is what everyone else is doing.
Utterly ridiculous and I know who you’re talking about.
I've seen $200/hour being demanded on this site. A reasonable fee is what you are willing to pay. So just ignore anyone whose fee you think is unreasonable. I would not attempt to negotiate.
Reasonable is what you can afford. <~ period.
I can see this becoming a cottage industry where the most attractive/desirable women charge exorbitant rates because they know, somewhere, there's a guy who's lonely and wealthy enough to pay $1500 for a couple nights with her. It really does seem like high class hooking without the sex.
$150 an hour is not reasonable if the market rate is $80 - $100. Makes you think that more than cuddling is being offered. Like @UKGuy said move on there are plenty of others in the $60 - $100 an hour range. A higher price does not necessarily equate to a better cuddle experience, I know from FIRST HAND experiences.
@UKGuy is correct. A reasonable fee is whatever someone is willing to pay. Though a pro can ask for a bit more when they know there are no other options within a certain radius. That's the danger right now. Most people seem pretty satisfied with a good cuddle at $80/hr, some complain it's too expensive, and some think it's a wicked good deal. For your first experience, I would pick based on conversation and connection, if you can feasibly afford them, and learn from the experience. I think better to spend a little more to see someone you think will be good from the online or phone interactions,. To an extent anyway. Everyone has a price point where their reaction starts to lean more towards feeling it's a bit ridiculous... :-/
I’ve seen prices as high as $250 but most of those pros fizzle out pretty quickly and you can see their profiles going inactive within a month. I just messaged a pro and I was quoted $150 but that included sex so I guess that’s what you call value added ? I didn’t even bothering answering back, I just reported her and moved on.
Thank you all for your replied
I had a pro today quote me $115 an hour, $10 for gas and a $50 an hour travel fee each way. That would mean I would end up paying $225 for a one hour session. That is not reasonable.
@Morpheus How far? Though gas should be included in the calculation of the travel fee :-P
@Morpheus , it sounds like she would have been driving over 2 hours to and from getting to you if I'm reading that correctly. From pricing schedules I was trained on when I first started, that's more than reasonable. I don't know how many miles that would be (where I live it can take 2 hours to drive 10 miles or 90 miles at different times), but if that's a highway hour-long trip I'd say it was pretty reasonable, even low, considering gas prices right now.
@PinkLipstick22 I think just one hour each way, so 2 hours driving total.
$115 (cuddle) + $10 (gas) + $100 ($50/hr, one hour each way) = $225
Yeah, that's what I meant. I probably didn't write it very clearly :P grabs coffee Generally, travel fee is at about half the cuddle rate plus any tolls or excessive gas/wear and tear if using your own car (For within about 15 miles I didn't used to charge extra unless there was a toll). Depending on the distance she's traveling to him, and based on everything else that seems to be based on his comment, this is a very reasonable travel fee in my experience.
Agree. You have to expect to pay for pros to travel to you, especially a decent distance... It's not going to be cheap. If it's too expensive, then the client can almost always travel to the pro instead :-)
Should I be compensated for the water I offer, the time I spend cleaning my house and bathing my pets? Should I be compensated for the mints I offer, the scented candles? Should I be compensated for the beard oil and shampoo I use and the manicure and pedicure I get? lol
If a pro hosts, should I be given a discount for my drive time and gas to her place?
Please remember ladies, this is me talking. I have been seeing pros since 2013 and have seen more pros than most clients ever will. You’re not going to change my mind.
Is what I stated in my comment above reasonable to me? Absolutely not and that is why I didn’t book her. I understand I have options and I will go with what I feel is a more reasonable option.
That's fine. You should go with whichever pros you are comfortable with their rates and charges It is your choice to take on all those extra expenses by hosting. There is a reason you prefer to host instead of be a guest, and that takes more effort (it is why I travel for 30 miles for free, because I recognize the pros of being a guest, and don't necessarily wish to discourage short distances traveled). Personally, I wouldn't compensate you for those things, because I don't need any of those things (they are niceties, but not things I would pay for). You are within your right to ask to be compensated for those things if you WISH, but it should also be the pros right to decline anything they don't wish to pay for. Just like it is within your right to decline anything that a pro wants to be paid for. Every purchase or charge should be a choice.
I don't expect to change your mind. I just find it kind of silly. You don't get a discount for traveling to any service provider's location, and virtually ALL service providers charge a travel fee beyond a certain distance. I live out in the country, I know this. It's why I try to collect jobs for a plumber to do before I pay for someone to come out, or electrical work, etc. And the more someone is charging hourly for their service, the more their travel fee is going to be. Your getting a quote from someone with a base rate of $115/hr is for sure going to incur a larger travel fee. For me, a one hour session 60 miles away would cost $140 F-Su or $130 M-Th. Significantly less because my base is $70-80/hr. But I'm not sure I would take a session an hour away for just a one hour session... Maybe a 1.5 hour session.
I have always supported peoples right to charge what they see fit as it is their time, energy, and body, so i have no bone to pick about cuddle rates nor do i utilize paid cuddle services so i don't have a dog in the fight really. . I will say i am not really clear on the travel fee, as everyone has a general amount that is not always the same that they charge. I hear some say they charge one way while others charge both, and also some charge per mile while others charge for time spent driving.
When it comes to charging for mileage i have some experience with that as i make home visits all day for hospice and get paid mileage for it. When i am going to a patients home, i get reimbursed for the miles from my starting point which is my office, to the patients home, then from there to the next patients home, so on and so forth. Because it is considered work if i return to the office, i get to claim mileage from my last visit to the office. However, if i am ending my day at home, i do not get to claim the mileage from my last visit to home. Additionally i don't get to claim mileage from my home to the office in the morning. Reason for this is because any mileage i claim must be tied in to work, and if i am going home, to lunch, or running errands, it is not presumed to be work related. Same example is given for a mover. If i pay movers to move me, which i have done several times, their time starts usually from when they leave to my home from their office location, however i do not pay them for their return to the office as that is their time, not mine. So in a sense if you are going to a clients home that is their time they are paying for you so the payment for travel is warranted. However once you end the session and are no longer working with the client, that time is not work time, so im not so sure i understand the reasoning for charging for the return home considering it is no longer tied in to the appointment. And while i certainly do understand a tank of gas is expensive, most modern cars with a v4 engine will go 5 hrs on a full tank, sometimes even more.
Again, i totally respect everyones right to charge what they deem fair, i just am trying to understand some of the reasoning around it.
My reasoning is that they are the reason I am x miles from home and I need to get back home ;-) to my "office" as paralleled in your comparison. I guess I could just charge twice as much for one way instead of charging both ways... Either way, I need to be covered in both directions unless I am also going to the area for personal reasons (in which case, no travel fee)... If I can get multiple sessions in the same direction, then they share the fee. I am not benefitting by charging the fee twice. I don't know. Everyone does it different. I just know that I am comfortable with the travel given my current end result... If I were making less, I would probably pass up the work past a certain distance. :-/
I don't do any traveling for cuddling any longer, but way back when I first started I did. Traveling is far less safe for a cuddler so there's a lot of extra risk there as well as all the traffic and tolls on most of the roads. Not to mention some iffy parking situations I've encountered and having no control of the space. I prefer to cuddle more people now rather than using a lot of that time traveling to one or another, so I don't do that anymore; however, this is a specialty sort of service so you're paying travel costs plus time, typically at half the rate of the service hourly rate. I had a long-time regular who would find spots about 5 minutes from where I was at the time, so I didn't charge anything for travel; it would have been pretty low and silly to do so anyway but more than that I appreciated the consideration of my time. I suppose if you are someone who can't host then you can use your discretion on whether or not to charge travel or only charge >5-10 miles or 15 minutes. Because this is similar to massage in how we're set up, take a look at in-home massage and how much it costs to have them travel to you for an apples to apples comparison. Mileage reimbursement for typical job travel is a lot different (I have this, too), and the company you work for is still in the picture when off-site so it's a different situation imo.
Exactly. This is different, because it is something most of us do out of our home. Traveling is an extra service some of us offer. It's not work which always requires traveling. In those cases, travel is usually included in the calculation of rate. Our calculation of rate anticipates no travel related costs or time. Makes sense to me. What service is there that pays you or gives you a discount for having them come to you? :-/
@ubergigglefritz @PinkLipstick22 that makes sense I suppose thanks for the response . I know several people who do out call for massage and waxing and what not and they charge too, but it's a flat rate . Like in call may be 80 for in call but 105 for out call , rather than counting miles or time spent. Have you thought about doing something like that ?
I had a 2 hour session last week with a pro who lives very close to the pro I mentioned above. This pro charged me $80 an hour with a $40 travel fee for a total of $200. That in my opinion is far more reasonable than my example above. To top it off, she stayed an extra hour for free. Why would anyone in their right mind, pay the inflated price in the example above when they don’t have to. I hope that clients especially new clients, read this and understand they shouldn’t let anyone take advantage of them. Know the law, know the rules, understand your rights and stand up for yourself.
@ubergigglefritze What service gives you a discount ? Well , the waste service ! If a farmer buys industrial waste for fertilizer , not only will the supplier deliver it for free , they will spread it too !
Re: the comment above about iffy parking . Does it ever get bad the closer in to city you get . Some , most ‘hoods are HOa governed who, give compleat discretion to towing contractors to enforce their parking rules . There are some ruthless operators. Always verify parking with your host
Instead of charging travel fees I prefer to request a session minimum for travel time. For instance if drive time is 1 hour there and 1 hour back I request a two hour session. It seems to be a fair way to do it.
@cuddlerforu24 I meant a cheaper price to come to you than for you to them. Is the fertilizer cheaper delivered than pick up?
@pmvines I bet that's for a max distance though. Extra charge for further or just flat unavailable... Definitely a way to do it though :-) For me, there are pros and cons to both hosting or being a guest, which is why it's the same rate up to 30 miles. Someone who prefers to host might make the outcall more expensive, or vice versa if they prefer to be a guest.
@AshleyCuddles That's another way to do it. Especially while still building up. Once you get busier though (I'm not there yet), that's very inefficient as you're effectively getting half your rate for four hours instead of staying home for sessions at your full rate. I think that's one reason why busier pros are more likely to just cut travel entirely.
@ubergigglefritz it is assumed that most would not be a super long distance away. And by charging a flat rate it all balances out cus for all the ones she has who are a ways out ,tere are plenty who aren't so even if she is charging 25 for a 40 mile drive which rarely happens, she is also charging 25 to drive 1 mile . Its all a charge for convenience not miles
As a customer, I would rather pay for what I'm getting than pay for the average (if you charge average, the only people who really like that are the people getting at least the average value out of it, so I really feel like you're alienating more clients that way). Anyway, everyone has to make the right decision for themselves, their location, and their clientele, as each situation is different. The only people who don't like my travel fee setup are those very far away, and I don't want to do a lot of that kind of travel anyway (so the price is doing its job). Most people either come here or are within the 30 miles free radius. It hasn't come up too much. I'm happy with my policy for the time being.
@ubergigglefritz I’m saying it’s my preference not telling others they need to do it. Since it’s my personal preference and my clients seem to appreciate it I don’t think you need to point out I’m losing money because I don’t see it that way. I do host as well but it’s more important that my cuddler is happy with the flexibility and simplicity of what I offer them.
Just conversing and discussing. I'm glad it works for you and your clients
