Thank you for understanding the point I was trying to get across @MrPaul At no point did I ever say that no one should have the right to disclose their vaccination status if they choose to to do so. I’ve seen more than enough people mention it here in the forums and in their Bio write up on their profile , I think that’s good enough I don’t see a need to make it a menu option. And personally just for me I don’t feel the need to give that info to the entire community when %99 of those people I’ll never meet or talk to let alone cuddle so why do they need that info if it’s not going to affect them. I’m also not saying people can’t choose to make decisions on who they meet or cuddle with based on that ! You do you !! For the record I haven’t based my decision who to meet or cuddle with to this point and I won’t be moving forward either. I’ve never been asked my vaccination status either to this point in regards to setting something up. If a potential cuddler asks me that info in private I’m more than willing to answer & that’s also where I expect that info to stay. And before anyone goes down this road because I’m sure it’s in the back of someone’s mind ...... no I’m not anti vax although I hate needles , and no I’m not one of those Covid is a hoax nut jobs or anything like that.

That's simply not true. Covid-19 vaccination is a public health issue because infected people can infect others.

"Important to many, disclosure appreciated" falls right in between the two.
Like "will cuddling you expose me to second or third hand smoke," vaccination status is information lots of people find very useful—and, as such, absolutely warrants a profile field of its own.

Getting vaccinated doesn't necessarily make some better than others as everyone has their reasoning for getting or not getting it, which I'd respect either way. And I don't see letting everyone know about it on your profile as inappropriate. It may after all make some people feel more comfortable to have necessary interactions with you and probably most of the rest feel indifferent.

First dose today
Thanks to @Dreamcatcher23 and @celticboy and all the others who are getting vaccinated. It makes for a safer world.
First dose yesterday of a lyophilized Pfizer study. I received either the current frozen version, or the freeze-dried/powder version that can be transported much easier, mixed locally, and stored at regular refrigeration temperatures.
So far, only a dull ache in my arm from the injection site.
Fun fact, the phlebotomist introduced me to blood draws from... the back of my hand. MUCH easier to find a vein, almost no sensation due to the small needle size, and you can choose the multi-colored bandage options to wrap your hand when it's done. They didn't have the Red/Little Mermaid, so I went with Hulk/Green, because, you know. Manliness.

I was able to book an appointment at Walgreens to receive the J&J vaccine tomorrow.
I feel it's very appropriate to list your vaccination. I got my first shot this past Monday and as soon as I get my second shot (April 19) I will be updating my profile.

Our understanding about the virus and the vaccines is continually evolving as we get new information.
I am a little irked at how the article is written. Scientists almost never use the word “prove” and the article contradicts itself, saying that of 4,000 people, three got infected, and then turning around and saying that vaccinated people don’t get infected. The incidence may be small but it’s not zero. The CDC is already walking back the claim that vaccinated people cannot get infected or spread the virus.

When you are looking at millions of people, 4,000 is a small sample size, though it’s certainly a place to start. We have to start somewhere and that only 3 people got infected in a limited time period is good news. However, were they taking precautions? We’re they wearing masks? We’re others around them wearing masks? We’re they or those around them practicing social distancing? What will that number look like in a year? What would those numbers look like if neither they nor those around them were taking any precautions? We don’t know yet.
I am NOT saying any of this to discredit the vaccine or to throw a wet towel on what looks like good initial results. However, obviously I’m not alone in noticing that this news is probably misleading and that can be problematic. It’s important that people get clear, accurate information. There is confusion enough and when people are given inaccurate information, it causes even more confusion. And then when the statements are then reversed or amended, it again causes confusion and frustration.
I’m still thrilled at the progress that’s being made. I’m also happy to read that the number of people who have hesitancy about the vaccine has been slowly decreasing. I think as they see that millions of people have gotten it without incident and as people they know, trust, and respect get it, some people’s fears are calmed.
I’m glad to see the number of people here who are committed to clear thinking and accurate information. Yay for safe cuddling again!
