I'm just curious to know where some of us draw the line, men and women pros and no's. I got blocked for not wanting to get high with someone DURING a cuddle, whaaa? 😵
I got blocked for a reason I've yet to know. It was with a pro. We had a good conversation going, and the next thing I knew, I was blocked. Lisa2476, , link, Lisa2476 I'm so sorry you got blocked over not wanting to get high. To me, that's no reason to block some one.
People block for many different reasons, as discussed here:
https://www.cuddlecomfort.com/forum/discussion/10424/blocked
In short, don't take it personally!
I get blocked for no reason because the way I look like most people judge the look
I personally went back weeks ago and unblocked most of the people that I had blocked after all the whining and complaining about me blocking them for no good reason. A handful of those people then turned around and blocked me for no good reason despite us not having any interactions in any way shape or form since I unblocked them and me being on good forum behavior since the whole necro bumping (or whatever the term is/was) issue from months ago. I personally don't care if anybody blocks me---all I have to say is if someone blocks you, even if it's for a reason you may not get, just move on. It's not really a big deal and it's not worth losing sleep over.
In the absence of harassing messages, blocking is about the blocker not the blockee.
Many people here use it as an expression of dislike. Dislike of themselves I mean: the blockee has inadvertently pointed out something unpleasant about themselves of which they do not wish to be reminded.
I block antivaxxers because I have no interest in ever cuddling them. 🤷🏻♀️
I have been blocked after I just look at a profile, I guess I did not meet there requirements, maybe age, weight, not sure. I do like to travel a lot for pleasure and my business so if I'm planning a road trip I will search in the area I will be staying to see if I could meet up for a cuddle. I do enjoy meeting new people and learn something about the area and the town they live in. I'm not into drugs or smoking, so I may block someone that is into that so they will not show up in my search. I guess maybe it's easier for some folks to just block someone instead of just saying, No thanks-???
@bekah_cuddles a lot of people do things like that - blocking somebody they will never cuddle, just to hide the profile as a matter of administrative tidyness.
@waynewv I've been blocked by people I've never heard of. First time I encounter their profile - already blocked.
Sometimes when I’m on the forms I’ll come across a profile I have never seen before and I’ll click on it and I’ll see what I have been blocked. I get so confused because I’ve never once spoken to this person or visited their page before and it makes me think that I just went and looked at my profile and decided they didn’t like me at some point.
Hehe, I got blocked while in route to a session. It was a 150 mile trip and 30 minutes before arrival they canceled the booking with no explanation. Still don’t know why nor does it bother me I was heading that way anyways 🤷🏻♂️
I haven't experienced that, either as a blocker or blocked. I've been ghosted quite a few times though Nevertheless, I agree with @DarrenWalker
Occasionally someone ( like a regular forum poster)on the forum calls out someone that blocked them or made their profile not available or call it what you want . So you have been blocked and it makes you feel less cuddle worthy , and you want to make a spectacle out of the block-er..... get over it
On the website, you can see the last 16 unblocked people that visited your profile. A friend of mine has the app on her phone and never used the website, her app only shows the last 3 people that visited. She never knew the website showed more on it. Now, 16 is enough for me, I'm male and get 16 visitors in 3 months. But with her being female, she's a lot more popular than me and she misses people that visit her page. I explained how she can see the missed visitors by blocking the last 3 people that visited, and it will back-fill with the previous 3 before them.
So as a test I blocked her to show her how it works. I learned about a side effect as well as this was the first time I ever blocked someone on here. It removed both of us from each other's friends list, and we had to send out invites again. Now we are in the last position of each other's friends list as they are listed chronologically, and according to the site, we only yesterday became friends instead of 7 months ago.
She would get anxious from the idea that she got someone so upset that they blocked her. Now she knows it's used for organizational purposes to get past site limitations. It still bothers her, but she knows there are other reasons now.
It's funny I never visited lisa page but saw this post so I go and click her profile and it says I'm blocked? Like really?
I never thought I'd block people since I can normally get along with everyone despite our differences. But yup I've done just one special block for one special person.
@Amortentia
I understand blocking if you are harassed. But for no reason is another sign of insecure people . And there are LOTS out there
Hey i block "window shoppers" if ur outta state and look at my profile a lot and never say anything ur out sorry @Aimisvalor if u fall in that category.
I am mystified as to why people get so bent out of shape by others visiting their profile—especially pros. Even the FAQ calls it “creepy” behavior. Why? What’s the harm?
When someone visits my page a lot I’m extremely flattered and assume there is something about my face or writing that brings them joy or comfort. I know a few who have told me they like to read my new karma reviews or see what city I’m currently in. This doesn’t bother me a bit.
Of course, I’m a total creeper and look at others’ profiles all the time. So maybe I’m just defending my own hobbies, lol. I’m just interested in people. I also love giving recommendations, so I’m always happy to know who is the top cuddler in each region, as I get asked quite often to help clients choose cuddle partners when they travel.
Why does it bother folks when someone is peeping your page? What makes it “creepy” in your opinion?
@BellaSera I got blocked from someone recently and was accused of trolling for visiting their profile "too many" times. Wasn't aware that there's a limit to how many times one can visit your profile and wasn't sure how the act of visiting one's profile is "trolling" when I never said a word to them. If anything, IMHO, this one particular user was trolling me by contacting me and making accusations against me when I hadn't said a word to this user.
Long story short, I agree with you wholeheartedly, Bella. Seems like too many people on this site (at least the one's active on the forums) are way to thin skinned and get their panties bunched up over the silliest of non-issues.
@BellaSera: As someone who had a fair bit of fun with their profile (and occasionally swaps out pictures just on account of 'cause), I also like it when people drop by, even multiple times.
I guess some people might worry about being tracked down in RL by someone they hadn't vetted? That's the only thing I can think of.
@DarrenWalker i do enjoy the whimsy of your profile and have stopped by several times to check out new pictures.
I think amongst pros there is a distinct (and, I think, largely overblown) paranoia about other pros copying profile text and (a more justified) fear of new pros shopping for clients in a more established cuddler’s karma. That said, these things are necessarily public.
I truly don’t understand the complaint about “window shoppers.” A profile (whether enthusiast or pro) is effectively an advertisement. The more times a prospective cuddle views it, the more likely it is to be effective. I spend plenty of time noticing businesses in my city that I currently don’t have time to patronize or can’t afford, but it pleases me to think, “one day I’m going to check that out...”
It seems like many cuddlers mentally catalog their profile page as their “home” rather than as a billboard advertising their brand. They get creeped out by someone peeping in the windows and then block in order to... what? Protect privacy? I’d love to understand... @Lisa2476, thoughts?
I dont remember even visiting your page. Don't remember your name or picture and your very shallow for saying that! @Lisa2476
Take @BellaSera for instance we've messaged back and forth before and I visit her profile from time to time because I know she travels and I know she comes through my area. I'm trying to see when she'll be in town so I can possibly book with her I'm not window shopping shopping as you put it or trying to be a creep!
I'm pretty sure that's not the real reason you blocked me at all though.
I cruise through all kinds of profiles out of curiosity. Especially as I've begun reading and interacting in forums.
I have an extensive blocked list on Facebook - my ex, everyone in ex's family, bullies, my building admin. Some are blocked because they are a$$holes. Others because I want privacy.
If someone blocks me, that's their choice. Maybe I offended them ... who's to say?
To OP - I would not be concerned about getting blocked for setting a personal boundary as you mention. You communicated your expectations clearly. Maybe the person blocking was concerned you might report them.
Deleted due to what's the point
Interesting discussion! Even more interesting that when clicking for the first time on the profile of someone who was complaining they're always blocked, that I find I'm blocked 😂 Don't read too much into other people's behaviour it'll only drive you crazy and 90% of the time it's not really about you anyway.
Block back, so they can't msg you when they calm down. Speaking from experience.
Don't ever feel bad about somebody's reaction to stating your boundaries, in a clear, concise way.
That's a them problem, not a you problem.
Meanwhile, I'm laughing at someone up thread, stamping their foot over being blocked. Apparently by many. Obviously, the blockers are #vindicated.
@MaullySterling, I don’t see anyone behaving like a petulant child. I see people sharing their experiences of hurt or confusion and expressing contrition for past behaviors. Let sleeping dogs lie.
I just found out I got blocked simply because I didn’t respond quick enough for the pro cuddler.
