Car cuddles

I just want honest opinions on car cuddles. I’ve been asked to do them a lot and I’ve kindly declined several times because im skeptical of being in a car. Am I just in my head about it?

  • @pearl21 seeing that most cars have bucket seats in front now and only back seat has room for cuddling …idk. It seems non platonic in back seat of car to me. Just my two cents. 😊

  • Car cuddles seem practical for guys who don’t have a place where they can host, and are probably innocent, but I totally see how that could give a creepy vibe. I’ve thought about suggesting it before, but I might re-think it after getting this perspective.

  • Depending on the situation, I can see where it might work, but I would have to wonder where exactly you would park? I personally like to have some sort of beauty to enjoy and discuss like music, nature, art, ...even a movie. Most places that I can think of to park would be counter-productive to that.

  • Are there any drive-in theaters nearby?

For me, eek! 😱 Small, confined space, driver’s power to lock all car doors and prevent windows from being opened, steamy windows, longtime associations with “parking” (i.e., making out)… I’m with you on being skeptical.

Now, on the other hand, I have a trusted cuddle buddy who trusts me, and if I’m driving us somewhere, we might occasionally hold hands when both are not needed for steering, or take turns resting a hand on the other’s leg until we get to our destination, and then it’s out of the car we go. Oh, and upon pickup and dropoff we usually share a hug. Other than that, especially with a stranger, I wouldn’t be comfortable.

  • I think a tailgate/hatchback type think overlooking a scenic view would work ok

  • Car cuddles are just as good if you work it right. Go someplace super cool, get in the back seat, push the front seats all the way forward... in my car Bluetooth gets the playlists... in one case I cuddled a person who was homeless and wanted to show me where she had lived. For me, taking in a person's environment can be part of the reward.

  • @PeopleLikeUs I guess as with any cuddling situation, it all depends on trust.

Grab two blankets and two pillows and go to a field and cuddle if the car makes you feel odd.

  • I cuddled in the back of my van with a pro that I had previously cuddled with. I had a mattres in the back. We cuddled in a park next to a lake. She was a jewel.

I've also been asked by at least one person. I had/have reasons for why I can't now. Though no, you aren't in your head about it. If you're uncomfortable with it, period, you're uncomfortable with it. You shouldn't force yourself to be comfortable with it. Try to see if there are things that would make you feel comfortable like meeting the person in a public setting. Having the car parked somewhere you feel safe and not driving around. Taking time to know the person first, though as I see you do this as a pro, I don't know how much of that you can do.

Having safety contacts who have that person's description, car description, sadly car license plates can be fraudulent/fake, even if the car owner hasn't done it. Or there is no malicious intent. So I wouldn't completely rely on that. Nonetheless, you may ask for a photo of it and recheck once you get there/take it yourself. I am not sure how else you can feel safe about it, though if at any point something is off to you, you have the right to take a step back.

    Edit, like this:

@Chris55555 This! "Grab two blankets and two pillows and go to a field and cuddle if the car makes you feel odd."

If they don't want that, then you two are likely not compatible. There are parks where you can feel at ease and have semi privacy. So with the right people, that can work just fine!

@mtp "Are there any drive-in theaters nearby?" That may help too, especially if they are good repeat clients and that you make your own arrangements to get there.

Unless you feel comfortable with them, I advise to inform them not to drive away from the spot/vacinities you feel safe.

  • If you really want a challenge, try cuddling while driving a car.

I did it with a cat and a dog once. 🐱
    Never again. 🐶
    Do not recommend. 🚗

@NicoSnuggs Bro... I don't mean driving while cuddling lol. I mean the person driving to a different location with her in the car. You know what they say about going to a second location. :(

So if I were to, I would find it safer to make my own arrangements to go to the location and not rely on a stranger/near 'perfect'* stranger in such context taking who knows what turns to get there.

  • I think they can be great but it definitely helps to have a van or station wagon to stretch out in. Otherwise it can be very uncomfortable!

  • Let’s hear from the Fiat owners on this.

  • Mostly unrelated, but earlier today I offered to pick someone I have seen multiple times up at a train station and driver her to the hotel we are going to use, as it is a bit far for her to walk...

Thinking about it now, I probably shouldn't have offered. (Not sure if it made her uncomfortable or not)

@Mr_Cuddle_Bear if you've met several times I would say it's fine to offer. However, make sure you give her an out. I.e. make it easy for her to refuse, and obvious that you will not be offended if she does. "Would you like me to pick you up? It's on my way so it's no trouble. If you'd rather make your own way that's great, I'll just see you there."

Now that it's happened, just mention this thread and ask her how she felt about it.

  • Back in the day when I traveled a lot and I was at the Hotel waiting for the session we had scheduled and got a text that the professional ran out of gas and was stuck on highway. So I ran a can of gas out to her and got the car started and we followed each other back. But that's probably not a car cuddle LOL :) We still occasionally laugh about it.

  • @Mr_Cuddle_Bear I also think that's a fine offer if you two have met a couple of times, especially if phrased like "I can pick you up from there to the hotel if you're comfortable."

  • Coming from a guy, I’d say no. I mean short of sitting and holding hands in the front seat at an outdoor concert with someone you already know well, I wouldn’t. It’s got too much … “Hi, my name is Ted” , written all over it.

  • Cuddles while driving? No. Not even in a Tesla - case in point, all the dead drivers who disregarded autopilot warnings and weren't paying attention to the road.

Cuddling while parked? Maybe in a 1960 Chrysler "...it's as big as a whale and about to set sail..." and maybe during a drive-in. As long as there was popcorn with a little butter.

I never really thought of car cuddling. I remember growing up with an old station wagon that had a front bench seat. I could see myself possibly cuddling in something like that. But I agree that the back seat seems kinda weird to cuddle in. Holding hands in the front and going for a drive on non-busy back country roads could be nice, but I think we all want more closeness than that.

I have run into a few issues where ladies don't mind coming over, but right now I'm in the middle of moving and was staying with a friend till he moved, now in a hotel till my apartment is ready. I like the blanket in a park idea if you've got good weather. Beach could be another nice place for those inclined to do so, but sand blowing can make it uncomfortable to get close. Plus, can be kinda weird cuddling on the beach fully clothed, and possibly a little much cuddling in swim suits.

I've suggested park benches a few times, but haven't been taken up on the offer.

Wish there weren't so many creepy dudes out there that made women feel unsafe about hosting.

Tl;Dr - for the OP. I think it's fine to decline, especially if it's someone you don't know. If it's someone you know and trust, and it's just more convenient for them, I'd say might as well

  • I have heard some say that movie theaters are a good place to cuddle. Is that really comfortable?

  • I would go with your gut. If you are not a hell yes to it, I wouldn't do it. As this is about relaxing, being comfortable.
I know for me I wouldn't do it. There is no address to send your friend and say, "If you haven't heard from me in 2 hours, this is where I am". My first time cuddling with someone I give the persons name, number and if I go to their address, their address to a friend and have them call or text me in whatever time feels like we would be over. I tell the person I am cuddling this as well, so they know someone will be checking on me.
I learned this when I did professional cuddling and when i go to a clients home to give a massage as well. It is a way to keep safe.

I wouldn't recommend a car, too easy for the other person to think it is something else other then a platonic cuddle, and it isn't safe for you as a car can move. My 2 cents.

  • @Cuddle_Bear_282 I don't think this is about comfort but safety for her.

  • Im telling you, there's not enough room in some of these horseless carriages :)

  • I'm confused why some people are equating a car to a non-platonic cuddle. And I'm confused why it wouldn't be safe.

I think meeting in a car is much safer than meeting at a stranger's house.

  • @OhioMike any excuse you can find to post that pic lol 🤣

  • I have a sedan. I would never aak anyone to cuddle with me in my car. I can understand being self conscious about hosting at home. I'm self conscious about hosting at home. I don't like the suggestive nature of hotels. So I prefer to be a guest, but I also understand someone else's reservations about being the host. So I don't get very far usually. It is what it is. So I got cats.
