Why is cuddling usually with opposite gender?

edited November 2021 in General

I noticed that most people on here cuddle opposite gender, especially men. Men like hardly evercuddle each other, men must be resistant cuddling other men on here. Any thoughts?

  • Most of my clients seem to be male, but I do cuddle with both! I’ve had one woman as a client and hope to see more in the future 😌

  • I second @Brandi on all counts and will add that I've seen instances of male enthusiasts cuddling each other through the site and hope that people continue to enjoy cuddling with people of all genders.

  • I like spaghetti more than I like waffles, and that's ok.

  • @calmcontact I've seen maybe a few guys hangout but it's rare. Animals of the same gender don't really get along close to each other so I'm guessing it's similar thing with humans.

  • All kinds of reasons, such as generally speaking anatomical preferences. And in some cases due to fear of being stigmatized.

  • @cookiecrumb "I like spaghetti more than I like waffles, and that's ok." Same!

  • People tend to want to cuddle towards what their sexual orientation is & what they’re attracted to or gravitate towards. (Not always the case but mostly the case.)

  • I only cuddle women but I don’t detest men. My relationships with men are very important to me. I only however cuddle women.

  • As a person who identifies as a male myself, and who is primarily attracted toward women more than men, I’ve still found opportunities to cuddle with five great men here, one man which I cuddled with on three different occasions, and another man which we had a whole morning eating food and hanging out at the farmer’s market after a cuddle.

One of the main reasons I sought out cuddling with those five men of my same gender, or responded to them when they reached out to me, is because they didn’t charge me money to cuddle and spend time with them.

Money isn’t easily made (in my opinion and experience), so when men reach out to me for a cuddle or to hang out without charging me money, that means a lot to me and I generally respond favorably toward spending time with them.

Although I have had a few cuddles with a few women enthusiasts who did not charge me, most women are Pros here and do charge (which is somewhat understandable to me), and so I can only afford to cuddle with Pros a couple of times a month at the most.

But with men for no charge, we could cuddle constantly, and I just might take more men up on that offer.

  • I cuddle both but prefer women. For me it is just a bias of seeing them as softer and better at comforting. A big dog is great to cuddle for the same reason down side is they can’t really squeeze you back.

  • Why is it surprising that people prefer being intimate with the opposite gender? LOL.

  • I cuddle both but seem to prefer a deeper friendship with other men before cuddling.

  • Most heterosexual men instinctively feel competitive towards other men. Cuddling requires cooperation, and is just not compatible with competition. Cuddling has no score card and no judge or referee.

I welcome & cuddle both genders. So far, I cuddled with 6 women clients & hopefully more. But most of my clients 98% of them are men.

  • Is this going to be another thread where people make those of us who prefer cuddling with the opposite gender feel like we're not as enlightened as the guys who want to cuddle with other men ?

  • I am willing to cuddle both. Up to this point, only men have cuddled with me, though (I haven't gotten any requests from women).

  • @Melancholy if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck and looks like a duck . . .

  • @NicoSnuggs Good, valid points made.
Coming from a South American culture, I've always greeted my buddies with a tight hug, but I haven't been interested in cuddling males... also, as previously mentioned, it's just a preference.

  • @AragornMike good topic! @NicoSnuggs Thank you for all that you shared! In terms of platonic cuddling, I have no problem cuddling friends on any gender. I too in terms relationships prefer women but with hugs/platonic cuddling share with people of many ages, beliefs, preferences and genders! I have also received request from over 20 men and 2 women that are listed as cuddling “women only” but still expressed interest in cuddling me! My overall belief is that people should cuddle only cuddle who they want to and with mutual consent.

  • I believe it's mostly cultural. Male rapeyness is still very pervasive, though it may be on the run. Perhaps the Prisoner's Dilemma is operating among males who would otherwise be willing to cuddle.

  • I’ll cuddle anyone. I’ve cuddled equally lovingly, intimately, and platonically with both men and women.

  • I had a cuddle session with a pro that I found out later was transgender male to female. I didn’t know at the time of the session. I enjoyed the session but was also a bit upset once I found out, that this information wasn’t shared with me prior to the session. My cuddle preference is females and always will be. I understand that people can choose to identify how they wish to identify but I felt that for something as intimate as a cuddle session, this information should have been revealed. I let her know that I was upset and she never replied. In the end, I’m over it. She was cute, the session was good but I do still think that the choice to cuddle someone who is biologically male which is not my preference, was made for me and I don’t think that’s right.

@Morpheus If she was so feminine you didn’t even realize she wasn’t born a woman, what difference does it make? Why do you think she’s obligated to tell you about her private anatomy? It’s not like you were counting on her to bear your children and found out she wasn’t equipped for gestation.

If you enjoyed the session, you enjoyed the session— a platonic cuddle session. What’s not to like?

  • @nurturingman Why does @Morpheus have to explain the way he feels? It’s like asking someone that suffers from depression why are you depressed? Sometimes things are unexplainable, but it doesn’t matter—he feels that way.

  • @nurturingman i have told a handful of people on the site and all of them including you, are telling me how I should feel. I understand that you don’t have I’ll intent and are trying to see things in a positive light and I appreciate you and everyone else for that. I am allowed to feel how I want to feel and I’m okay with my emotions and feelings about this. In the end, I am not mad but I still think I should have been told.

  • Yes Morpheus I agree with you !! I’m actually a little bit upset for you & maybe I shouldn’t? Whoever is reading this or is thinking of doing this just know that there will be people who won’t be understanding & will feel violated & might take a different approach … maybe the gender selection in profiles should be updated to include more than just male & female if it doesn’t already.

  • I agree, @FunCartel , that one should not tell another how to feel; however, what I take issue with is this: “I felt that for something as intimate as a cuddle session, this information should have been revealed” (emphasis mine). Despite the fact that he began that sentence with “I felt,” he expressed an opinion, not an emotion. I disagree with his opinion that she should have revealed her sex.

  • Men prefer to cuddle with somebody they find physically attractive. Most straight guys don't like the idea of touching another guy. i don't even like to stand too close to them at a crowded concert.

  • Hi @nurturingman i think the issue is some people have acted violently when they find out not on CC but in real life trans people have been beaten or killed which is horrifying and criminal obviously.
I think it’s for the safety of the trans person, because not all will just be upset and not act violently.
They could feel tricked, it’s best to let people know, especially when there are people who want to cuddle with trans. But that’s my two cents. It’s really up to the person if they want the cuddling world know and their prerogative. Peace to everyone.

  • I've written to women and so far none have wanted to.
