His loss ( sacrifice)younger years , his gain later
Was just being a smartazz, @sparkyblue-eyes.
I'm sure his rich self is doing okay.
No problem !
I also remember when $60 was about the industry standard. Personally, I don't mind too much that it has generally risen. Inflation effects everything and it causes people to have to decide on a few things. For the consumer, it's how much I'm willing to spend because family, food, gas, rent, etc. are things we need to consider. For the professional, it's should I raise my rates because family, food, gas, rent, likewise. Point being, we're not all so different at the end of the day. When I think about it, for me, $80 is relatively fair and seems to be right around the starting point at the moment. I started driving when gas was 99 cents per gallon. I'd love to have that back, but those days are gone.
I can see why a pro wouldnt want to deal with heavy traffic for a 30 min appt (say for $50) and have a min. of 60 minutes. But if she can host, why not do 30min. It would encourage repeat clients, always the best because you know who youre dealing with, and those clients might schedule more frequent visits at the lower price.

Not to call somebody cheap, but I take personal offense to somebody assuming that they should have access to my body at a price that they deem appropriate. That's almost a little bit rapey, right? Horribly oppressively misogynistic at best. You might want to check out why you feel like you have a right to women's bodies. That is a problem.
Am I still on Earth?
@SugarMagnolia I agree that you should be able to set your own price point and there shouldn't really be any universal standard. I was trained in the home inspection industry and, while a lot of people in that business won't charge less than $300 per inspection for a standard sized home, there are a number whose price point is $350 or higher. It's their right, based on a number of factors, as it is yours. Generally, I've seen anywhere from $60-$100 per hour for cuddling, so using my own background as an example, I get where you're coming from.
I take extreme umbrage to the idea that anyone feels the need to comment on the motivations of another person who engages in any sort of a paid profession. OF COURSE THEY ARE DOING IT FOR THE MONEY. WHO WORKS FOR FREE?? Everyone has bills to pay.
Her motivations for being a professional cuddler are not in any way your business or your concern. Your business and concern is the service she provides and whether she does a good job or not. That is it. And if you do not like what she chooses to charge -- again, something that is not your business or concern -- simply find someone else.
Lol! ...if the men who complain about prices they don't like AS A RATIONALE FOR TRYING TO CONTROL WOMEN really are concerned about the men (only men?) "whose lives might be saved" by a woman's touch, then why not start a fund for them and open your own wallets? Why do you blame women for this theoretical dilemma and agitate for a woman to open her body and bank account at your direction? Why not start taking applications and vetting each circumstance, and buy them a gift certificate?! C'mon, step up and put up. Let's see that donation basket!
Post removed off topic sorry
Of course they should be compensated for their time, I don't think anyone ever said they should work for free but someone who is not only in it for the money actually enjoys doing this and that vibe is reflected in the session vs someone who doesn't care.
The good thing is that it's easy to filter out bad cuddlers from both sides so booking one or getting booked by one shouldn't be an issue if you know what to look for.
My best session of all time was with someone who charged well below 80 an hour plus she took an Uber and ate the fees cause she was running late. I felt bad and ended up tipping her heavily cause I felt that it was the right thing to do. Shame that she quit cuddling long ago.
Ahhh the good ol' days are back.
Feels right.
Okay let's reverse the situation. Say men were in control of pricing and lady's were the ones in need of touch. Ladies would you pay a man the same price you are currently asking a man to pay you for a cuddle session? Especially if you weren't making a lot of money? Would you pay him $70-$110?/hr? Even if you could get touch for free from someone else?
Some would some wouldnt. But Couldnt say for sure unless that were to be the actual situation.however, I would and have considered hiring a male cuddle pro to experience the other side of things. And of course would pay the fee that he was asking. Weather or not I would be a regular, Idk but its possible.
@mark its off topic, but please can you tell me if it says"This profile has been deactivated, but dont worry, there are other cuddlers for you." Does that mean the person deleted the profile by herself or was it deactivated by CC?
The user de-activated the account themselves. We don't have any automatic de-activations just yet.
@XYZ95 It's a nice start (to try looking at it from someone else's POV), but even then I feel like most women probably can't relate to what men feel, and it'd take more than just the price consideration, it'd almost have to be an alternate universe.
For one, most women don't have as much a need for cuddling, because have an easier time finding free cuddles with one another (and it's more socially accepted and normal). If they wanted to cuddle with a guy I'm sure she'd have a line of people willing and able to do it for free. Growing up, generally speaking, women aren't told to 'suck it up' when the going gets rough, they are coddled, listened to, and they're encouraged to communicate and express their feelings. Not to say that my case/childhood has been necessarily bitter or cold, but it has lacked some affection, and as a guy there is more an expectation of having to power through it on my own rather than being able to really rely on others. Sure, some of it is on me to open up and be transparent with others, but it's generally a harder battle. Men are generally treated with mistrust on the offset, by women and other men, which is another barrier to cross, where women are generally trusted offhand.
So yes, ladies you have the power to nurture and bring life. It'd be nice if money didn't have to (always) be associated to it, cause I think the world would truly be a better place if men had their needs met more regularly. In the end it's up to each person what they do with their time and selves.
Every business tries to make a profit. Regarding the usual cost of cuddling with a professional which is $80 per hour, I have decided that it's too much for me. I'm not saying that they don't deserve it, but it's not a price that I am willing to pay anymore. I have had good sessions with all the pro cuddlers I have met, but I think $60 per hour would be better for me considering I usually pay for two hours at a time. I'm going to search for the cuddlers who aren't pros, but I know it will be more difficult to schedule with the cuddlers who are not doing this professionally.
In regards to pricing models, I always encourage my folks to spread their wings and find their right one for them. $80 is basically the market rate at this point (just like they raise a bag of chips from $1.00- $1.69! the audacity!!) so it's something that cuddlers may go for especially as new folks coming into the industry. Anything less or more could be offered for different reasons. as clients, i think most folks ive come across understand the price to be fair because some cuddlers change their rate and have it higher than others. to each their own!
For example, I used to run an online make-up shop (fun!) and starting out, I charged a price of what I thought was fair and pretty common to use for each item... once I build up good reviews, I lowered my rates and offered discounts/sales so to build up consistency.. once there was a high demand for a particular item, I raised that one because there's only a limited amount of that item and I was building up popularity... it's competition out here, not so much to get paid but to get that product/work to begin with!
Cuddling is the same... a business model may follow a similar path --start at the market rate of $80, lower price or offer discounts for longer sessions (like maybe offer a 15% discount for 3 hours, who knows!) to build consistency for those who are loyal clients and once the demand is so high, that your schedule as a cuddler is constricted, raise the rate a little for new oncomers (essentially for everyone but if your loyal cuddler clients have been there since the beginning, i personally would reward their seniority with that discount)
similar business model can be applied in almost any work and i love how people can get creative with it just to get their coin. clients may have to look around and run trials with new cuddlers here and there but there's always going to be a cuddler who can fit or accommodate to you, whether that's a professional cuddler or a close friend. don't fret my loves! get your cuddling on.
I'm a professional and I charge $80/hr. What most people fail to consider is that although I am physically cuddling for that hour I have invested a lot of time into that hour. As a professional cuddler, who has a full cuddle schedule, I am constantly on my phone or computer. I check messages every couple hours and respond immediately. I am in contact with all of my cuddlers just to touch base every week or so. Most of my cuddlers have my cell phone number so I am texting pretty much non-stop. I go on a cuddle trip once a week to a different city. So, I've planned the entire trip, advertised through multiple sites, contacted and remained in contact with every cuddler that has scheduled. I pay for my hotel, my transportation and everything else for that time. I have business cards and flyers. I advertise my cuddle trips on Eventbrite.com and I even have a Groupon. I realize that is all just the cost to do business but you also need to realize that to some of us pros that take cuddling seriously, it is pretty much a full time job. Now back to the real question which is "are the pros on here just for profit"? I can only speak for myself when I say absolutely not. I own a very successful company (medical field not cuddling) and do not need to cuddle to support myself. I do it because at the end of the day, it just makes me happy.
What’s with these new pros who ask for 99 or 100 per hour and they have no karma or feedback or any kind ? What kind of dumb client would hire a pro cuddler at such an above average rate without any clue if they are good at cuddling ? Some pros may not realize that many of us aren’t rich and we plan our budget so we can afford pro cuddling. So it sucks if you spend 100 bucks and find out the cuddler pro sucks. You can’t get a refund. You just wasted your money. I am really wondering though why any client would hire someone like that ? Do you also bet 100 on blackjack? It’s like gambling.
@itcrowdfan You have a choice. Either see them, or don't. Complaining about it doesn't really change anything. And it is their choice to charge as they wish and it is the choice of those seeking to pay someone to cuddle them choice to pay or not to pay. You can have a bad or good experience regardless of what you pay, it is your decision to try it or not. Personally I prefer a non paid cuddle pal so I don't pay for it, but if its in your budget and are willing to pay then so be it. As long as people are willing to pay there will always be folks charging and it is their choice to charge what they feel comfortable with.
I think some cuddlers charge $100 per hour because the website they work for takes a percentage of the money. Also, because $80 per hour seems to be what cuddlers usually charge, they feel that they are above average and can charge more than the others. Whatever the reason or reasons, I'm not paying $100 per hour.
Pmvines. You don’t see the point of me post. It’s to warn other guys don’t give in to these higher prices from girls who have no karma. They may have big egos and think they’re way better than other girls but don’t feed that ego. See someone who isn’t trying to price gouge. Pmvines I’m not complaining so much as warning other guys not to be ripped off You said you don’t pay for cuddling so this doesn’t affect you Not all girls will rip you off but why gamble with 100 just to see if they’re any good ?
Again, just don't pay 100 bucks if you dont want to take that chance. Don't pay 60 or 40 or 20 if you dont want to take that chance. Its your money. If someone wants to charge more than you are willing to pay, just dont pay it.
Wow this has become a heated topic. I'm surprised no one has brought this up (and if they have and I missed it, then I do apologize!) but being on here 'just for the profit' does not necessarily mean that someone is a gold-digger. My situation would be an excellent example: after 10+ abusive years in the corporate world, there was a situation this past summer that backed me so far into a corner that I finally had no choice but to stand up for myself and fight back (i.e. I resigned). As someone who's a go-getter and always extremely motivated, I immediately started searching for jobs / ways to sustain myself. The events I endured over the past 1-2 years in the corporate world were purely terrible but and after putting up with the abuse for so long, any attempts at searching for a "real" job would send me into a panic attack... not to mention, there was absolutely NO joy / fulfillment from my job. I was very good at what I did (which made the day fly by)... but the ONLY, ONLY thing I felt good about was being able to provide for my pets (which are like children to me)...
...thus, while my intent for signing up as a pro-cuddler is to make money, there is definitely more to the equation than simply making money. In a nutshell: I'm trying to sustain myself and my "family" (pets) by doing something (pro-cuddling) that actually touches someone else's life in a positive way and therefore is something I can actually feel good about. I've always been told by others (acquaintances, friends, past partners, etc.) that my bubbly / fun-loving / positive personality really makes them feel good; and all of my past partners have even my kudos in the cuddle department. When it comes to trying my hand at pro-cuddling, make no mistake about it, if I'm not able to meet or exceed someone's expectations then I hope that person would be direct and let me know because I DO NOT want it to feel like I'm taking money if they don't feel I'm living up to my end of the deal.
Finally, Scarlette had some excellent points as well that I'm surprised were not pointed out earlier in this thread (or if they were I missed them): there are other aspects of being a pro-cuddler that take up LOTS of time (at least for me and I would imagine for others who also treat this seriously)... for starters, NON-STOP phone calls / texts, no bull-sh!t!!!
I can understand dealing with abuse in a job. I work for the government and I wanted to resign because of a hostile wrok environment, but it would have been very bad for me financially, so I had to hire a lawyer. Because I'm a man, I realistically cannot expect to make the same money as a woman would in the cuddler profession. I can also understand the time spent as a cuddler when not making money with customers cancelling and answering texts and messages. When I was a private tutor, my customers cancelled appointments a lot and I only made $30 per hour. I eventually decided that it was not economically feasible for me to continue tutoring even though I was good at it and I helped children improve their grades and even graduate high school. It just was not worth the hassle. If I made $80 per hour as a tutor, then I would do it.
This is my first post, maybe I’m being too blunt, but I just wanted to put my opinion out there. I totally understand someone not looking to pay for cuddling or pay above a certain price for cuddling, but I also think a cuddler’s price should be respected no matter how high you think it is. I live in San Francisco with very high rent so it is expensive to live here. While $80 an hour might seem high it is not like I am getting forty hour of work a week. I can spend thirty minute and the cost of an uber to a clients house for an hour cuddle session. It is a lot of one hour here two hours there. There is no such thing as a guaranteed number of hours a week in the cuddling profession. Being a professional cuddler makes it hard to have another job as so many people want different times. No on should feel they deserves or are intitled to my time for free because they are desperately in need of physical affection. For men that claim that free women don’t respond my advice would be to first accept to cuddle with a wider range of women and second cuddle with men who maybe are also having a hard time finding free women to cuddle with. Or maybe volunteer at the neonatal intensive care unit and cuddle babies that maybe don’t have parents there 24/7 or volunteer at an animal shelter and give/get affection from animals. Be creative if someone truly is that desperate for physical connection and is unable to find a free female cuddler and can not afford a professional then those are some options. You would not expect a mechanic to fix your car for free because you need your car. Yes I love what I do, but this is a profession to me with that you get a professional experience. I am punctual, I cater to your needs, I am responsive to messages, attentive, put up a picture, and I cuddle when it is convient for you. There are plenty of professional serives I would enjoy that I can not afford or choose not to spend money on, but I never would feel entitled to a free massage or house cleaning even though both would be nice.
Doesn't the saying go if you love to do something then find a way to get paid for it? That's the reason I became a pro.
