Mine is an English Staffie (Staffordshire bull terrier), not a pibble. Pibbles have been banned in the UK since 1991 under the Dangerous Dogs Act because some idiots were training them up as attack dogs or status symbols. There are still genuine pibbles in the UK but they are few and far between.

I'm definitely learning to love myself, and seeing everyone here show how much they love themselves, and how they let their light shine is helping with that. I'm learning that it's OK to like and care for yourself, and to be proud of yourself, and even to love yourself, and how that isn't selfcentred or egotistical, it's natural, and there is no reason why I shouldn't be loved, especially by myself.

What a lovely thread I think this is objectively not the best pic of me, but I love the vibe of it. Maybe it's the light and remembering being at the beach with a group of people I love when it was taken.
Wish I could say I ever feel confident. Even if I wasn't dealing with loss and grief, I've just never felt confident. Perhaps due to depression.

@BrianL I'm sorry to hear that you're dealing with loss right now, that's not an easy thing to process. I understand too, what it's like to not feel confident- the majority of my selfies are ones from when I've been in costume at work, or when I've got a full face of make up on and I don't even really look like myself...

@BuggleBear Thanks. Yeah, the only time I really feel any confidence is when I'm not me, when I'm out working at the haunt. Fortunately there are multiple times a year (Summer, Halloween of course, and Winter) where I get to be out there.
I don't have any haunt pictures of me from last year, which I should move them over from my phone, but here is a fairly recent pic.

@BrianL that is an impressive beard! Do you usually have a specific character you play when you're working at haunts, or do you mix it up? So far at mine I've been the pig lady matriarch, a voodoo priestess (I did try to explain to my bosses that that attraction wasn't entirely appropriate) a genetically modified scarecrow, a human/spider hybrid, a deranged clown, a cannibalistic prison inmate, a wolfman, a ghostly Victorian nanny and various behind the scenes roles, as well as a three year stint in the costume department. It was a lot of fun 😊
@munkg nice pots! Do they stay that colour after firing? I know nothing about pottery, so I can't ask any questions really, but do you want to explain the process?
@Bugglebear the brown ones were just thrown at that moment, so they were smushy. My instuctor lets them dry a bit then they usually turn pink after bisquing, get glazed and fired again. There's all sorts of colored glazing so they mostly end up whatever color you want them to be. Its a lot of fun

@BuggleBear Bisque is like a pre-fire fire, you dont have to do it but i like getting all the moisture out of my cups and mugs before glazing, also helps you see the true size of your work, my hands are pretty big, so firing my work shrinks it a bit and makes it a bit more normal size🤣
@munkg that's fascinating, thank you! I've heard of bisque dolls, but I didn't really know what it was. I assumed it referred to a kind of glaze or finish, but that's really interesting. I'd love to give pottery a go, but I'm not sure I could handle having clay/slip on my hands...

@munkg yeah, I don't think I could handle it tbh. Sensory issues. I use nitrile gloves when I'm doing clay sculpting at home (air dry clay) but I doubt that would work with the kind of clay you use on a wheel.

@BuggleBear Thanks. I've kind of adapted a character I had back in VA, a vampire, who is a former pirate, amongst other things. That's the only character I've really ever developed.
