Santa Monica, CA - Really cool place to live but most people would be surprised we rank as one of the highest crime cities in California as people from out of the area are just openly trolling around neighborhoods here and in neighboring Malibu scouting rich people's houses to rob. My co-worker came home and interrupted a robbery at his neighbor's house and got held at gunpoint. Still awesome place to visit and hard to guess behind all the cool scenery there's a problem, but only if you live here. My cat does not worry about this at all.
