I'm on my last break at work and hoping to get home safely through the throngs of cold snap panic buyers! Lol
@cuddlebugTM I am right there with you, as is the rest of my family. Jim
Road trip tomorrow to Ponte Vedra, Not pleasure or business, just another long distance doctor visit. Staying overnight, but too cold for golf or the beach. Recommend any episode of "Detective Montelbano" subtitled in English. Quality production value television stories of 2 hour length. Set on the island of Sicily and I am so envious of the villas on the beach.
I just got back to florida from South Carolina and I am getting ready for the new year with my amazing family.
I'm lying up in bed with a cold. Jim

Feeling proud of myself. Yesterday someone gave me a can of chocolate covered peanuts, not knowing I'm a type 2 diabetic. I'm stressed out over an upcoming move and was mowing thru them. Just took the rest of the can down to the garbage chute and tossed them in. There's no way I could have not finished off the rest of them if I hadn't.
@BlueIris Welcome go the T2D Club. I was diagnosed less than two years ago, but have been borderline for years and years. In the first 6 months I shunned sweets, sugar, high fat content meat, white bread and white potatoes. Dropped my A1C by a whole point, and in the second six months I was almost as well behaved, and dropped my score all the way to 5.8 (just below pre-diabetes.). But I’m an all or nothing guy. This holiday season has been tough on me. I received so many gifts of candy and cookies and more. And then the dinners and deserts out or in the homes of friends. Some sweet gifts I re-gifted before I got them home, once, like you I actually put some chocolate$ in the trash, but a lot of it went into my mouth. The las six weeks I’ve been almost out of control. Thanks for the courage to dump those chocolate covered nuts. I’m going to try to follow your example and get back on the program!
@Greybeard I got my blood sugar down to normal by going on a low carb high fat diet (Atkins). It took eight months before I didnt actively crave carbs. My blood sugar is fine now, but my metabolism is not normal. Never has been, never will be. I have to stay off carbs for the most part forever.
The important thing about throwing things away to keep yourself from eating them is that you have to throw them someplace where you can't retrieve them. If you just put them in the regular kitchen trash, it doesn't always work. Trash chute is the point of no return!!
@BlueIris I confess to Gluttony, but to this point I haven’t stooped to retrieving cookies from the trash can. If you saw some of the other things I toss in there, you might understand why.
I'm sitting here basking in NRE (New Relationship Energy) that also releases oxytocin. Also wishing that this persistent cough left over from my cold would go away. Jim
I'm on here, because this is my happy place.
I'm supposed to be studying for a really tough practical exam - but after my car died on me this morning and I found a discarded Amazon box in the alley (which was the one I've been waiting for the last few days -confirming to me it was stolen-) I am here looking for something uplifting so I can find the motivation to get back to studying.
@AlexBabyBoo23 - Awwww, sorry you're having a rough morning. At least Amazon will replace your order.
This is my happy place, too! I've met so many wonderful people here in the last three months, more than in the last three decades! Sending you a virtual hug!
@AlexBabyBoo23
I’m at a comic book convention in Miami, Florida. I saw Erik Estrada from the Chips TV show.
Thank you @Scarlette and @BlueIris. This is the best community I've had the blessing to be a part of
Trying to find someone on here to cuddle with, Which is hard because no-one is from my area. A couple hours away in the city but that`s about it. Very disheartening to say the least.
@Love_Arcitect - You can get disheartened, or you can play the cards that have been dealt to you in life. If you're serious about wanting to cuddle and can't find people in your area, you'll make friends with whoever you can on here, and they'll become your support group. You'll make that two-hour drive to meet someone, or maybe you'll find someone who's willing to make the drive to meet you, after getting to know you. I live by (1) you never know, and (2) you never know what someone else will say yes to until you ask.
I've done all of the things I've written about above, and my, what a big batch of lemonade I've made out of those lemons. I'm constantly looking at the cards that have been dealt to me and making the best out of what at first I think might be a bad hand. Sometimes it surprises me, in the best possible way.
@BlueIris Thank you for that I appreciate that. I am trying the best I can to do as youre suggesting. Ive reached out to a lot of people and have found 2 potential people. They both live in the US and one has agreed to cuddle and meet up. I won`t be able to make it there until the spring or summer. As much as I am disheartened by a lot of people, I still continue, I will not give up.
re suggesting. I
I am actually considering about becoming a cuddle party facilitator because there is nothing in my area. Also there are a lot of elderly people and people like myself that go without touch. I am playing with the idea of starting my own cuddle service, hiring different people to help others with skin hunger. As I think it has a lot to do with why people act and feel as they do in today's society. It would be nice if there was a lot more compassion and understanding between people. I feel most people lash out because they are feeling not understood or unloved.
@Love_Arcitect - Good for you! Being proactive is an absolute must in trying to find a cuddle companion. Others have suggested looking for cuddle pals also on Craigslist and on dating sites in addition to here. It's not what you're there for on a dating site, but if you state your intentions clearly, you never know what someone will say yes to. Someone wrote to me and said that he had better luck finding a cuddle buddy on a dating site than on here. You never know!
@BlueIris Thank you for that and would you have any suggestions on how to word that on a dating profile, as I want it to come across the right way to women. To convey my intentions openly and honestly.
@Love_Arcitect - I will pm you.
@BlueIris okay thanks again! I appreciate all the help youre giving me and suggestions. Youre a very wonderful & compassionate woman.
re giving me and suggestions. You
If you are going to become a cuddle party facilitator, you should make a point of going to a cuddle party with a facilitator who has been doing it a while. You should also take advantage of any training you can find. Cuddle Sanctuary has some free online training, especially the 5 Consent Techniques webinar that would be very useful. Jim
@Love_Arcitect - I_am_Polylover has a good point. It's not just something you should do unless you learn about it first.
@I_am_Polylover - It may be a problem for him, though, if there are no cuddle parties in his area. I haven't seen the Cuddle Sanctuary's free training. The only cuddle party facilitator training I've seen costs about $2k. I said no, thanks, to that. I've been to five cuddle parties, and they're all run the same. There's information online about how to run one, but you're absolutely right that it's best to go to a few first to see what they're like.
Playing D&D
@BlueIris There are two free webinars that I can think of right off the top of my head that Cuddle Sanctuary offers. The one I mentioned above (which I attended in person), and the other one is 'The Basics Of Being A Professional Cuddler', which I am going attend online on the 18th. Here are links for you to sign up for the webinars: http://cuddlesanctuary.com/workshop-leader/ and http://cuddlesanctuary.com/procuddler/ They are having a full professional training course her in Pasadena that only costs $695, but even that is way out of my range, being on Social Security as I am. I don't blame you for not wanting to pay $2k, that is just silly. Jim
I'm sitting on the front porch, too filthy from pulling down palm fronds and chopping them up to go in the house. Gotta wait for my wife and son to take a bath before I can. Jim
Just came in from having the dogs out in the back yard. The little bit of snow we got at Christmas melted in a short warm snap this pas week. But it was down around Zero degrees this morning and now it’s been snowing for about three quarters of an hour. The dogs like playing in it, but they are little guys, and can’t stand the cold for long. They are predicting 3 to 5 inches by morning, but what do “they” know?
@I_am_Polylover - Thanks for the links! I'll check them out.
